I'm also the C50 guy, bought it as my first bike in '05 at the age of 29. I have since had other bikes, but the C50 is still my daily driver. Versus a sport bike, I prefer the more complete visibility of the wider set mirrors, and the bags make grocery shopping more convenient.
The video got a few things right: I still run stock pipes. I switched from black to high-vis around age 35.

I ride a Vulcan S, not only because I like it but mostly because here in Brazil there isn´t much of a choice.
In terms of cruiser we got the Vulcan S, over priced Harley-Davidson, some really expensive Triumph classics and... that's pretty much it.
Royal Enfield may bring their Cruise 650 to compete angainst the Vulcan near in the future, but that's it for the brazilian cruiser boys.
Yamanha, Suzuki and Honda stopped selling cruiser bikes about 10 years ago and Indian has left this country around 5 years ago. The Kawasaki used to sell the Vulcan 900 but they don´t do it anymore since 2018.
So, that's it. I ride the best cruiser (and most affordable, obviously) I could find brand new.

Kawasaki offers a lot of bang for the buck and the bikes offer the right amount of tech and gadgets. Also, I recently asked a female friend of mine which she would rather ride on the back of: a Vulcan S or an M50, and she said the Vulcan, so chalk one up for us. I love my vulcan s. It is plenty fast for me, it will do over twice the speed limit of most the roads I ride on and makes the 25mile road to work a joy, it turns in easily, feels stable, and has no problem taking off at the lights. It is a great balance.

Yamaha should have never dropped the Raider. The Bolt needs more displacement (at least 1300 ccs) and possibly engine counterbalancers (like the Raider) and a six-speed gearbox. Styling-wise, the Bolt has it cinched! I've been building and riding choppers, rest-os, dressers, and drag bikes since the late 1960s. I still don't have any tats or body metal -- I've got enough scar tissue. In 1969, I knew Honda 750s would be chopper material down the road. Back in 1970, guys like Tony Carlini built some bruisin' and rideable choppers out of CB 750s.

I’m not a cruiser guy but I’ve test ridden and really like the Bolt R-spec. Is it better than a Harley? No, but it’s cheaper and more reliable. And for those of us who don’t endlessly customize our bikes it’s fine.
Also, the R9T is not a “pseudo cruiser.” Come ride mine on some good roads and find out for yourself.

Your gonna need to update this in a couple months when Rebel 1100 owners start filtering into the group rides and you can’t shut them up about the repurposed and retuned Africa Twin engine, ride by wire, standard abs, piggyback shocks, 35 degree lean angle, and do much more, all for under $10k off the showroom floor.

For the rider who wants to look and sound like they are riding a Harley bit with the Japanese reliability.
