- In today's video, Alex discusses the many franchises owned by Nintendo and put them into a tier list! These videos are generally more laid back and unscripted than our other videos, so its more of a podcast type thing than a regular ranking.

I remember playing Kirby Superstar Ultra on the DS growing up in the late 2000's and it's what got me into the franchise. Zelda and Mario may be the biggest Nintendo franchises but others like Kirby and especially Metroid have a special place in my heart.
I have a defense for animal crossing, whether or not its a good one is up to you. Animal crossing is supposed to be a day by day slice of life type of game where you play it in real time and develop a town or in new horizons case, an island. New leaf mogs the newer one, because you actually get to be the mayor of your own little town and help it develop. It isnt really meant to be taken seriously, its more akin to something like pikmin bloom or pokemon go where its just something you do a little bit of everyday. It is literally just a slice of life anime in game form
i also haven't played xenoblade but my friends whose opinions i trust swear the exact opposite about xenoblade 2 and say that the fanservicey anime stuff is just a filter for people who are insecure about it,
i'm going to check them all out except i intend to start on xenogears and saga
Agreed with what you said regarding your friends' words. All three of the main games are honestly great. Without going into any spoilers as you haven't played it, 2 has the same great themes as Takahashi's other works. I swear that people who say to avoid it and say it's not essential to the story clearly didn't play past chapter 2 and are judging it on a very shallow surface-level kindergarten level fashion just from seeing the Aegis characters like Pyra...who are honestly great characters along with most of the party.

Anyways, here's my own tier-list:
*Godly:* _Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Paper Mario_ (the original trilogy), _Mother, Fire Emblem_ and _Super Mario_
*A-tier:* _Kirby, Metroid, Golden Sun, Mario Kart, Kid Icarus, Xenoblade_ and _Mario & Luigi_
*B-tier:* _Pokémon, Bayonetta, F-Zero, Punch Out, Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, WarioWare, Rhythm Heaven, Starfy_ and _Star Fox_
*C-tier:* _Yoshi, Mario Party, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Advance Wars,_ and _Arms_
*Horseshit:* _Dr. Mario_ and _Paper Mario_ (the new trilogy)
Some people just appreciate honest youtubers who aren't just cookie cutter npcs repeating the same opinions over and over
I love seeing another Metroid fan out here like me! I've bought the Prime Remastered two weeks ago and I'm trying to 100% the game, but I've accidentally missed the Ice Shriekbat scan in Phendrana lol
I think the frigate Orpheon has 1 or 2 missable scans that I forgot about one time which drove me insane lol
Fun video, Alex! It would be pretty tough for me to rank Nintendo franchises, as there are some series where I've played a decent number of entries (e.g. Mario & Zelda) and others where I've only played a few (e.g. Metroid). I think either Super Mario Bros. or Zelda would be my top pick, but it's hard to decide between them. Metroid is up there, as well, but I've only played four of those games. I love the Mother trilogy (especially Mother 3 and Earthbound), but it's difficult to compare a series with only three games to some of these more expansive ones. For Paper Mario, I've only played the original and Super, but Paper Mario 64 is my favorite game from any of these Nintendo franchises. Donkey Kong Country is pretty high up for me, as well, as I love all five of those games. I also like Super Smash Bros., and Mario Kart's not too far behind it.
Nintendo's quality and consistency over the years has been amazing. I can't think of a single switch title for their long running series that was a letdown, especially with the recent amazing Pikmin 4 (It's really fun once you put in the time). Almost all your bottom picks were dead franchises so hopefully they get revived and given new life with how Nintendo is currently booming.
I already know I'm gonna get mad watching this. I love most of the series.

Pikmin is a great and unique series imo, Starfox 64 is such a fun game, each to their own I guess.😅

I was not a big Nintendo guy growing up but I've made various efforts throughout my life to try and patch those blind spots in my gaming backlog but Nintendo makes it nigh impossible to play their older games legitimately and so it's fuck Nintendo all my homies hate Nintendo. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 I loved, I didn't beat the first game to 100% completion but I did for the second one, it was one of the most challenging undertakings I've ever had in gaming and my roughly 12 year old self felt like he just won a Nobel Prize for beating that final galaxy with only one health. I rarely played Smash Melee and Brawl but they were kinda fun, I have zero desire to play it now though. As a kid I started every 3D Zelda game that was out at the time but I could never make it that far because my dumbass couldn't solve any of the puzzles and just gave up on all of them. That's one series that I'm certain I will love these days, same with Metroid. I'm kinda petty though since every single Metroid video I've watched is just them relentlessly jerking off Super Metroid and it's the most boring shit ever. I just automatically assume you're a drone if that's your favorite Metroid game. btw at 30:04 that screenshot from DyllonStej Gaming, he went to my school and I actually had a couple classes with him. Hated him honestly lol. It was just so insanely bizarre seeing that watermark while watching this video, it triggered some PTSD ong
Oh man, the Pokemon rating hurts me lol... I'm in my 30s though and grew up with Pokemon when it first came out . I don't know if I'd like it had I been introduced at this point. I wasn't much of a fan of Scarlet/Violet, the most recent game.

Should have made not for me tier and put Pikmin and animal crossing in it since you admit other people can love them and there just not for you.
