2024 MLB Nike Vapor Premier Elite Jersey Review

  • As a jersey enthusiast, I was really excited to receive my Toronto Blue Jays 2024 Nike Elite Jersey…until I saw it. Hopefully the players like it, as it was made for players and not middle aged fans like me. Can’t see these New Jerseys being well received though by fans who have owned the previous years’ authentic jerseys.

    When fanatics first bought Majestic they agreed to make/manufacturer Nike jerseys for Nike, in the old Majestic factory. When the materials ran low, they dumped the Majestic template hence no changes between the Nike/Majestic jerseys 5 years ago till 2023. Its called "brand washing". For all the collectors on here, grab your Majestic replica & maybe a newer Nike replica, compare, they just changed the heat pressed tags/stopped sewing the logos/numbers. Even when Fanatics took over, they made the nikes heat pressed. That started the downfall. Fanatics has no interest in quality. I just cant wait to see what they do to the NHL jerseys....ugh. Great Video brother. The only time brand washing heloed was when Addidas who owned Reebok, took over & made.the quality better.

      The introduction of Adidas Jerseys didnt come without hiccups though... they had that weird button thing for a year or 2 instead of a jock tag and I also recall fans disliking the collars cut or the collar crest... maybe even both i forget exactly... also there were logo complaints but Adidas took the fan/player criticisms in and fixed most of the complaints.
      The Adidas era will for sure be looked back upon fondly, overall they made some major and much needed improvements to the long outdated fit/perfoirmance of hockey jerseys...
      Its a little known fact though, that Adidas "authentics" are not true pro stock player authentics, but rather production authentics meaning yes they are closer to the real deal then a replica... but no they are not a pro stock player authentic which has been a dissapointment.
      Whereas during the CCM jersey era, CCM made cheap fan replicas and pro stock NHL authentics, if you brought a CCM authentic it was literally made right along side the team issued players jerseys and for this reason alone many fans to this day will typically agree that CCM made the best authetics the NHL ever had.
      The CCM authentics were Made in Canada to boot! but even CCM had flaws and near the end of the contract began producing some of the authentics overseas.
      With the resurgence of CCM hockey products in recent years, I know a lot of fans hoped that CCM would be able to regrab the jersey exclusivity deal.

      @@jaybruno3571 I’m real picky when it comes to jerseys, i like it to be similar to the player wore for the season. I have a ton of older Majestic already dedicated to older Yankees. Still gonna buy this Nike template when it comes on sale to see if it looks as bad for the Yankees. If I don’t like it I’ll just return it. Still cautious though.

    • @georgenoriegajr
      @georgenoriegajr Před 3 měsíci

      The Yankees are going to have minimal changes, if any, since the home pinstripes have the interlocking NY on the front, numbers on back, and no patches or names. The roads have the New York across the front, numbers on back, no patches or names. So at least there isn't going to be the cheapening of logos and patches that other teams like the Blue Jays and Mariners are going to have.
      The Batterman logo is going to be lower so that's going to look like crap, but really with the elimination of the side panels and the drop tail, the 2024 Yankees jerseys shouldn't *look* that much different from the ones from prior years, since their uniform design has always been so minimal.
      The jersey *material* is another story though; it's definitely going to FEEL cheaper, and if the Vapor Elites have TRUE on-field specs, the numbers on the back are going to be perforated, which looks pretty chintzy. Plus the elimination of the white outlines on the "New York" and numbers, and the elimination of the sleeve trim on the road jerseys is a big downgrade IMO.

So I’m excited to see the Elite versions in hand. I got a lot of fanatics gift cards from Christmas (family didn’t know what else to get me lol). So I won’t really miss my own money lol. The one thing to also keep in mind is that me as a hockey fan is deeply concerned over what Fanatics will put out there for "retail authentic" NHL jerseys. In the past like baseball, you can get the same on-ice jersey as the players. I know the same was true for MLB jerseys. Ever since Adidas took over NHL jerseys in 2017, they never offered the on-ice product, so collectors had to go to off market sales or team equipment sales to find the real jerseys. I worry Major League Baseball is going that direction now especially with Fanatics doing the manufacturing and deliberately cutting corners on quality. Maddening.

    I had heard some of the rumors, but never really checked it out. I’m a Cubs fan. Watched their first spring training game yesterday afternoon, and was aghast at how crappy these things look on the field. Pajama tops is right! And what’s with making the name lettering so small that you can’t even see it? This to me seems clearly at odds with the caps that have not changed, where many of the logos there are intentionally too big. Just very poorly thought out and implemented. Hopefully the MLBPA can get something done about it in the next month or so. Thanks for the video.

    I wanted to buy a Yankees jersey so bad before the start of the season but after this whole MLB and NFL jersey fiasco I refuse to support bad quality and just overall greed. I will not buy a jersey until affordable stitched jerseys come back and if they don’t then I’ll just remain jersey less and support my team through other companies.

  • @EXPERTISE
    @EXPERTISE Před 3 měsíci

    Nike really screwed up with these new jerseys and I bet you most of the changes were made to cut down on costs and to increase the profit margins. Glad I got my authentic jersey when I did last year which is clearly superior in every way. Downgrading quality to try and squeeze more money is one thing, but they did it so blatantly obvious that anybody with two working eyes can see how poorly made the new ones are when side by side with the older authentic jerseys.

    im an Angels fan first of all..lol.. but i hunted down and bought a brand new, authentic Majestic flex base Blue Jays home jersey (because i don't like the nike adverts on the new jerseys, and the jays' white home jerseys are admittedly fresh af), for 180 bucks CAD! (i guess because it was outdated?), i couldnt belive it. just happened to be my size too. much better than having a huge ugly attention intrusive nike swoosh on it, alongside penny pinching, twopenny-halfpenny quality for 500 dollars. just good ole fashioned top teir quality sh-- . especially after these rediculous new jerseys they are putting out?? 😂.. worth every penny. ppl r getting effen ripped off and being used as human billboards left, right, and up the nann, and here i am... just f-----' killin it. 😏
    i feel now for the dodgers fans who will now be paying 450 bucks for their beloved authentic ohtani jerseys... that are basically overpriced replicas 😅
    no i dont. 😏
    _i do kinda like the offwhite colouration over the clean,sharp white though._
