What is the Worst Uniform in Every Major League Baseball Team's History?

- With 30 MLB teams, there were a lot of uniforms and history to go through. With that said, I think I curated a pretty good list. By no means is this a ranking of the uniforms. This is just me going through each team and picking a uniform (or uniforms) that a team is wearing or has worn before.

Yikes, there is some really hot takes here. It seems like you don't like anything that's just a little bit different. Cincinnati, Seattle, San Francisco, and Texas jerseys are actually really nice.
Some people like tradition it's part of the game that makes it special.These weird looking uniforms are better suited for sports leagues with no tradition.Some uniforms like Tigers,Yankees home uni's are perfect and should not be touched ever in my opinion.

I would have figured the names were just always there. The Giants City Connect is definitely one of the worst ones out there, certainly worse than every other one mentioned in the video. They somehow made that CC uni LESS flashy than the regular uniform which doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of the City Connects?

While I agree with your statement on the Cardinals. There is one year where it was far, FAR worse than the patches. Look up the 1956 Cardinals uniform. They took the Birds on the Bat off of the uniform. It was horrible and lasted one year.

The Red Sox uniform is the reason the city connect uniform idea happened inspired by them wanting to do something after the marathon bombing.
Red Sox ones are horrible to me.Lot of bad city connects.
They had the Boston Strong jerseys city connect is a cash grab by the MLB and Nike to sell more jerseys.

Those uniforms were designed by Bill Veeck's wife. One item they had were white caps with navy blue bills that were supposed to be worn on the road. First road trip of 1976, they went to Boston. It was unseasonably hot in Boston for April, something like 95°. As Wilbur Wood pitched, a sweat stain crept higher and higher on Wood's white cap. The White Sox never wore those white caps again.
I really like the Rockies green uniforms. I also like the A’s gold uniform with the vest and green sleeves. In fact I liked all the A’s uniforms of the 70s. Watching the Rudi, Jackson, Bando, and Fingers A’s I couldn’t wait to see what combination they came up with next.
If you ask me, the Boston Red Sox reminds me of the yellow and blue WGBH Boston ident for PBS

I’m still beyond disappointed the Cardinals ditched their memorial patch for Bruce Sutter with an ad. That being said, as far as actual jersey design goes 1956 is probably objectively the worst, when they ditched the birds on the bat entirely

As much as I despise the Padres' City Connect uniform, the Padres' weirdest uniform is the rare Sunday Camo on Mother's Day fiasco, especially when they wore the "blueberry" camos. Oof.
I love the Mariners City Connect jerseys. The ones I would have chosen for them was their future uniforms they wore for one game in the 90's.
Those jerseys are for a theme night, though. It's called Turn Ahead the Clock Night. A few teams had those back in the 90s. But that would be cool if they were regular jerseys.
I would have said the baby blue ones from the start of the franchise. The numbers were weird, the S on Seattle looks wrong, and the orientation of the words looks off. Literally looked like someone told the franchise they would exist next Tuesday and we needed jerseys. The city connects are nice and I don't understand how any fan could want the Sunday creme jerseys to go away.

Toronto's mid 2000s was a major blunder, at least they went back to a version closer to their original jerseys a few years later
Briefest answer: every team's City Connect uniforms. Nike has NO idea how to design baseball uniforms in terms of either style or construction (as proven by this year's debacle).
That cubs uniform wouldn’t be bad if they change the color of the numbers and names
Almost all City Connect uniforms could be on this list. Except Atlanta.
The Angels' kits from 1971 make even the mid-90's sets look half decent.
But one other thing to note is that, around the mid 90's, there was a bit of a surge in popularity about the subject of angels in general. The House of Mouse wasn't dusting off a mid-century movie for kicks. Touched by an Angel was pulling eight-figure viewership and Top 10 ratings for CBS, right around the time those uniforms rolled out.
So it does make sense, in a way, that the uniforms of that time, would lean into more overtly "angelic" aspects: the sky blue accents, the winged A, and so on. It wasn't specifically a Disney phenomenon: there were some cultural influences at work, as well.
The Cubs jersey was so good
The Padres CC kits looks like something from a Myrtle Beach, beachwear store. And Bostons CC kit is just an atrocity.
San Diego CC is S+ tier. Perfect homage to Mexican. Papel Picado is the name.

I’ve never seen someone hate light blue more 😂 I definitely agree with some of these, especially most of the City Connects. However, the Royals all light blues are iconic. And while I was roasting you from the “only white or gray pants” take, I found myself agreeing with you more as I watched the video. There’s some exceptions but yeah, white and gray pants look better in most cases.

I do remember that the 1972 Detroit Tigers had different looking home uniforms. They were pull over jerseys and elastic belts, with the word TIGERS in script
Thought they had the old school D on their home uniform
The Tigers had the usual old English D at home and a new road jersey introduced in 1972 the pullover with DETROIT in block letters trimmed in orange
FYI, even with the pullover era for the Mets, they never had elastic waste bands, always belts.

As a Pirates fan, obviously nothing will beat the combo of just black and gold but, I personally love the Red vest jerseys. Reminds me of my childhood, my first bobble head was an Adam LaRoche with the red vest on. A part of me wishes they would bring them back

Disagree on the Mariners City Connects. Love the black pants. Definitely better than the see-through white ones all the teams are stuck with this year. And that blue just pops. If you had to pick an Ms one, the 80s pullovers were terrible and powder blue.

The Rangers City connects are my personal favorite city connects, I might be partial as a rangers fan lol but still. I don’t like them quite as much as the Rangers home whites and away blues but they’re still high on my list.

Also, I appreciate your measured tone on a subject that could easily give itself to hyperbole. For the Pirates, I'm surprised you didn't pick the all Gold or all Black uniforms form 1977-1989. Also I think the Pirates are the only team who can get away with Black pants as long as they are knickers with stirrups. Full length black pants have never looked right to me, for baseball.
