    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Pretorious (Ernest Thesiger) tells Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) his plan. When he refuses to help, The Monster (Boris Karloff) persuades him.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
This greatest of all Frankenstein movies begins during a raging thunderstorm. Warm and cozy inside their palatial villa, Lord Byron (Gavin Gordon), Percy Shelley (Douglas Walton), and Shelley's wife Mary (Elsa Lanchester) engage in morbidly sparkling conversation. The wicked Byron mockingly chastises Mary for frightening the literary world with her recent novel Frankenstein, but Mary insists that her horror tale preached a valuable moral, that man was not meant to dabble in the works of God. Moreover, Mary adds that her story did not end with the death of Frankenstein's monster, whereupon she tells the enthralled Byron and Shelley what happened next. Surviving the windmill fire that brought the original 1931 Frankenstein to a close, the Monster (Boris Karloff) quickly revives and goes on another rampage of death and destruction. Meanwhile, his ailing creator Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) discovers that his former mentor, the demented Doctor Praetorius (Ernst Thesiger), plans to create another life-sized monster -- this time a woman! After a wild and wooly "creation" sequence, the bandages are unwrapped, and the Bride of the Monster (Elsa Lanchester again) emerges. Alas, the Monster's tender efforts to connect with his new Mate are rewarded only by her revulsion and hoarse screams. "She hate me," he growls, "Just like others!" Wonderfully acted and directed, The Bride of Frankenstein is further enhanced by the vivid Franz Waxman musical score; even the film's occasional lapses in logic and continuity (it was trimmed from 90 to 75 minutes after the first preview) are oddly endearing. Director James Whale was memorably embodied by Ian McKellen in the Oscar-winning 1998 biopic Gods and Monsters.

When the Monster tells Dr. Frankenstein to sit down, it mirrors the moment from the 1931 movie when the Doctor told the monster to sit down.

Whale was an astounding director. The shot of the Monster from an angle looking up at him adds to the menace by making him look larger. The lighting and camera shifting are simple genius. This could have ended up a laughable film, but because of Whale's work, it is a masterpiece.

I love the moment when Franz Waxman's menacing score cues up as soon as Pretorious opens the door. This was Waxman's first Hollywood picture; he later went on to score 'Sunset Boulevard' and Hitchcock's 'Rear Window.'

    I like the subtlety of this scene. When Dr. Pretorius opens the door to reveal the monster standing there -- the full focus is NOT on the creature, but of the monster and Dr. Pretorius with the door in between . The only time the full focus is on the monster is when the Monster speaks . { Which was a huge selling point for this film !! }

Poor Colin Clive, the man never even lived to see the 1940's! Forever the slick haired doctor anguishing over the monster he created. The Scifi film SPLICE even pays tribute to him. Adrian Brody's character was named Clive after the FRANKENSTEIN actor. Sarah Polley played Elsa, named for the actress who played The Bride of Frankenstein, Elsa Lanchester! 😎🇵🇷🇺🇸📽🗽🦂

In "Frankenstein ", the monster was told to sit down by it's creator. Now here in "Bride of Frankenstein ", it's the other way around. Maybe they're looking to form some horror films board committee and nominating one another as chairman!!!!

    "Hi, Dad. You miss me?"
There's some dramatic irony in the fact that he tells Frankenstein to sit down, as Frankenstein told him in the first movie. A reversal of roles, if you will.

When Preatorious tells the monster to leave, you get the impression he has A LOT more he wants to talk to DR. Frank about. In the original novel the creatures attempt to understand his existence and demand a companion goes on for two long chapters in which he is the sole narrator. Here, it's condensed down to "You Know. " Yes, MUST! " and
    "MUST DO IT!!"

we get quite the contrast between Frankenstein and Pretorius when they refer to the Monster. Frankenstein refers to the Monster as “That”, and Pretorius following by referring to the Monster as “He”. Humanity. Dignity. The Monster never felt that. Granted, Pretorius took advantage of him to get him to do evil.

The greatest reveal of a characters introduction if ever seen one ❤
I'm only 36 but don't have a low IQ like most ppl my age 😂
This movie is a legendary masterpiece & the first real sequel in movie history ❤
This is the original sequel decades long before Godfather part 2 or Aliens or Terminator 2 !!!!!
This is literally the only actor playing a character that u literally can't recreate or make any better in cinema no matter what u try to do!!!!
Christopher Lee tried , Robert De Niro tried & completely failed , even the original Dracula (Bela Lagosi) & Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr) both themselves tried to do this role & it was literally impossible to recreate or look like or surpass Boris Karloff wether it's physically or even with his on point acting that it's literally insane!!!! This is the one film & character & actor that is literally lightning ⚡ in a bottle (no pun intended)
i argue this is definitely the greatest casting for a main character in a single movie that will ever exist in human history!!!!
Nobody on earth can even come relatively close to being this spot on for a character in a film or look this iconic .....ever !!!!! ❤
Its crazy that everyone on earth has literally seen Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein monster throughout there entire life regardless their age but 98% haven't even seen these films!!!!

Instead of trying to impress Henry with the people in the bottle routine, it would make more sense if Dr Pretorious had already tried to make a lady monster, but it didn't turn out good, so now the Monster says to make a good one for him, or he's going to go off and kill everyone around.
