    I closed my petcock the other day and noticed air bubbles coming up my fuel line as it was draining into...somewhere? Bottom of my air filter is soaked, so obviously there. My float was at like 17 mm so I moved it to 21. Put some fuel in the line to check and no bubbles, level hasn't dropped. Can't wait to try it out in the morning - maybe I'm finally on my way to getting this thing running right. 😂
    I really appreciate it, brother 🙏

      No problem bro many carbs on the market nowadays but the key is to not go to big for your engine set up. If your engine is fairly stock stick with the smaller N/T and Hp style carbs. But if you have do a lot of porting or have a real pipe on it a vm18 or pz20 may be the better option for you.

      I noticed there's some strange rangers in the MB community. One guy kept calling me an idiot for saying engines can run on hydrogen, natural gas, mapp gas, propane,etc... Despite me showing him an overwhelming amount of evidence. He said it was all BS/a scam, that I was wrong/stupid & he was right. He's messed with 2 stroke engines quite a bit but apparently hasn't ever seen a common propane forklift.

    I needed a filter coz me rear tire was slinging sand & dirt directly into my carb intake... I had good results modding the stock restrictive NT carb filter by, #1 cutting off those 4 bottom plastic intake tubes on the cover, wrapping tape around the outside so airflow can no longer be sucked into them. Then cut a large oval hole in the back cover, cutout the inside plastic filter support screen (leaving the outer plastic ring & screw holes) Now it runs just as good as it does with the filter & housing completely removed.
    But if I remove the tape so the bottom holes are also exposed. It doesn't run nearly as good, I suspect because the holes are causing the airflow to swirl inside the filter housing VS being sucked straight into the carb from 1 large oval hole cut back. In hindsight, I should have only cut 1 large round hole in the cover, directly inline with the carb intake hole (while also plugging up the bottom holes). To see if it'd run just as good with smaller round hole VS the large oval hole made in back.
    I made the hole oval & as large as possible, going for the least restriction.

      @keeganhache6667  Před 2 lety

      Wow sounds like you really dialed it in! I always recommend running a filter but as you stated getting the most flow out of one won't hurt either. This goes for a lot of things on these bikes you just really need to experiment with what works good.

  • @wrongturnmotorizedbikes4604

    You pump that on the NT carb before you cold start. Pump it until you see gas coming out the filter. Then you'll be ready to start it. At least that's what I do and it seems to help with starting a cold engine.

    I'm trying to find some type of gas/oil resistant non hardening/non messy putty to wrap around my carb/intake to insure no air leaks. So far the free window putty string I had laying around is working but I'm not sure how it holds up to gas & oil. I didn't wanna mess with smearing messy gasket sealer all over it, having to wait for it to dry & scraping it off & reapplying each time I removed the carb.
    Would be nice to have some reusable putty. It'd also be good to carry some with you & come in handy for something like a leaking petcock valve or cracked fuel filter. You could stick some putty on it & make it home.

    One way to find out exactly which part of your carb is leaking if you have a very slow leak. Is to stuff some pieces of toilet paper around the suspected areas then check it in a couple hours or day later.
    I couldn't tell if my carb was leaking from the bottom drain screw,primer button, bowl gasket, fuel line into the carb,etc..coz the leak was so slow it wasn't visible. The next day after riding, there'd be a small puddle underneath the carb. After stuffing TP around suspected leak areas over night, I could see it was leaking around the primer button only.
