Remove spark plug socket to install chain. Also those 6mm tensioners are junk. If you torque those bolts the individual straps will bend and touch back piece and provide no grip. The tensioner will walk into the chain during starting procedure. Need to find older one with 8mm bolts preferably one with 4 bolts

So I got a Catnip high performance cdi kit from California motor bikes, It has a strong spark and it is firing to early. This is on a Zeda 80 Firestorm, all stock. It will start while you are pedaling but when you stop pedaling and the bike slows down it locks the engine up. I think possibly it's a flaw in the engine timing. The Stock cdi works fine but the spark is so weak that it doesn't actually ignite the fuel mixture until maximum compression. That's my theory anyways. I'm going to try your mod and see what happens. I guess it could also be the CDI, but I have 2 of them that do the exact same thing.

New motor 100 pexmore only one tank of gas now not starting if it starts runs bad and cuts off could cdi cause that

by the way, you made a point about the stock head not being centred and that the cnc head cools better. this is technically correct but not because of the combustion chamber, its because of the larger fins. The offset combustion chamber actually helps to keep piston crown temps down. other than that, this series was really enjoyable and informative. p.s im curious on how this motor actually performed vs how you thought it should've performed with all the work done to it, i know you posted a vid on the completed build but i don't think you told us your impressions.

I have scoring marks on my head gasket, and no matter how hard I turn the head bolts, it doesn't seem to fully squish the head gasket to the engine block. It's a metal gasket, but I feel like it may be the issue. I just replaced the wiring on my bike, but if that doesn't fix it, idk what will

for me the stock carb is rlly good whenever at low speeds i do full gas it almost flips the bike but with the new valve kit it will do smthing add more power? or changing the jet if its possible

I have gotten the chain on and off using a long zip tie on the end and pulling it through with the clutch in so I didn’t need to take the plate off

I got half links the other day that saved me a lot of work hopefully they last.

I know this video is pretty old but I’ve been having trouble adjusting the idle on my pocket bike with this one it always bogs out was that happening to you before it usually happens when I let go of the throttle

Your videos are super helpful, my kit from amazon wouldn't start so sort of gave up on it and got one from another bbrand which runs alright, but it turns out the cdi wires and the magnet were backwards on my amazon kit and after swapping those it fired right up, not even broken in and running better than the one i probably over paid for, but now i have 2 motorized bikes 🤙 thanks

Move to smaller sprockets, move tensioner further back, take links out your chain. Get spring tensioner up at the front

One small trick might be to smear a small amount of soft wax onto the nuts when putting them on the studs. I use a softish microcrystalline wax, purchased at Amazon (as a lubricant, but it works well for this job as well.)

you also want to smooth the contact points of the magneto, the back part of the magneto so the surface is smooth and makes good contact.

I closed my petcock the other day and noticed air bubbles coming up my fuel line as it was draining into...somewhere? Bottom of my air filter is soaked, so obviously there. My float was at like 17 mm so I moved it to 21. Put some fuel in the line to check and no bubbles, level hasn't dropped. Can't wait to try it out in the morning - maybe I'm finally on my way to getting this thing running right. 😂 I really appreciate it, brother 🙏

I've done a lot of porting and flowing work on 2T engines when I'm using the Dremmel I use artists Mahl stick, it is just a stick with a pad on one end so you can rest on it a keep your hand steady, it is amazing how well it works, make one with a length of broom handle and tennis ball is what I did,
