Is this machine a legitimate welder or is it a pile of garbage? Let’s find out.

• Harbor Freight - Titan...
I have the same welder and have been using it for 2 years now, built lots of little and big projects and it has worked flawlessly. I installed 240 receptacle in my garage and it works well on thick metals used to make HD bumpers. I found my welder at my local HF as an open box with the same cart for $550 together. I could not pass up the opportunity. It is a very good welder and so far it is stout and runs past its listed duty cycle without overheating or tripping breakers. Definitely worth the money for a hobbyist. Thanks for such a great in depth review!
Thanks for watching
The perspective of an experienced welder is invaluable for the novice (me). What's important, what's not, will it "do the job" for the home diy'er. You've included all of this. The cart review is nice touch as well. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. Anything welding you want as a video, let me know.
I bought that same welder about nine months ago and has work very well for me so far. And I’ve used it for frame repair on trailers to welding in patch panels on vehicles. I have no complaints.
I have a different model of the titanium. I have the mig 170 and I believe it is an excellent welder at the price point for the product line. I carry it in my service truck and have used it for a large weldment repair on a combilift. It performed exceptional and the repair shows no signs of an issue two years later. The machines are very capable if you know the limits and prep your work accordingly.
When he says 700 subs, and now I'm looking at damn near 4k. Good job man
Thanks friend.
and now he is up to 16.3K !! Congrats man keep up the good content!
I want to thank you for the review. I don't know much about welding right now, but I'm trying to learn. I don't want to spend a lot of money for my first welder/cart/table and this setup looks like it would allow me to get started and improve my skill without outgrowing the machine. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge, skill, and wisdom to help a guy like me make a decision on equipment with more confidence. Thanks again, from a new subscriber.
So glad this was helpful and best of luck to you.
@@jackofalltrades7822 what would you consider an all around amperage in a welder?
I am 25 years old for starters. No real prior experience besides watching my dad. Bought the titanium 125 flux core welder for little projects and loved it. About 6 months ago i bought this welder. I have since then used this welder to fund a whole outfitted rig and fashion my own business and soon will pay for certification for welding. Even though i have a big fancy welder now i will still take this welder and a generator across a muddy field to fix a farmers tractor. I have used and abused it and smiles every day for me. Im not saying this welder is the end all be all. It has its limitations. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to start out with small jobs or at home.
Well said.
Same here bro ! Almost Identical story . What generator do you use for this titanium 200?
WOW thanks Jack for being a real person and not one of these automated voice overs, thanks for all your experienced input.
No problem. I hope it helped.
I've been welding for 10 years and this little guy does great. I have an SA200 on my rig I use for pipe welding but it's loud and not practical in the neighborhood. If I'm doing home projects or little side gigs this machine is my go to. I'm confident it will weld good enough to pass a welding test. I've been thinking of doing a 6G pipe test on some small bore with an actual WPS and see if it'll make xray quality welds lol. I've had lincoln and miller for the shop and this titanium actually not only compares but excels in some aspects especially in the mig portion on autobody. Great video by the way just subbed!
Tell me I'm not the only one who looks away or closes their eyes when he gets ready to weld
That’s a hard habit to break.
I have had flash so much I can't look because it definitely irritates my eyes if there taping it with no filter you are an idiot to look I learned that when I was 5do watch the welding 🥽
I've had flash burn before I won't even look at the arc even with a welding helmet on flash burn socks last time I couldn't open my eyes for 3 days I pass looking at the arc
Lmao I thought I was the one one.😅
haha thats what i was doing putting my hand on the phone 😅
Great review, Ive had my titanium 200 for over a year and it is rock solid. I got the two year warranty also, no brainer. TIG works great other than drag to start, but no big deal. Ive welded tons of stuff, just got done building a 20' !4,000# tandem trailer from scrap steel I picked up and it turned out real nice. just subscribed to the channel. Again, really good review.
When you drag start your tungsten doesn't it contaminate the weld?????
@@jefferycarter1791 it’s never been a problem for me, it’s called drag, but actually it’s just a light touch to get it started kind of like arc welding. I like tig because it’s very clean and looks great.
@@jefferycarter1791 thats only if you have a weld puddle or the tungsten is hot and melt the filler to to it on accident
How much extra was the 2 year warranty??
$99 we’ll worth it
Thank you for putting together a very informative and illustrative demo on the Titanium 200. You should get credit because your video is the reason I purchased this very capable multipurpose welder from Harbor Freight.
Thank you for watching
Great review. I'm actually looking at getting the TIG 200 Titanium machine. It's hard to pass the price if it can really do what it says it can! I was a fabricator for a NASA contractor 30 years ago.....so my TIG experience is way beyond out of date. Been using my ancient Miller thunderbolt 240 stick and little Lincoln 120 MIG since then. I really need a TIG for what I do these days, though.
I bought one of these machines and I love it. I grew up with an old Lincoln stick welder, so having 2 types of Mig, Tig and Stick in one machine is fantastic. I use it on 110v for most of my body panels on the old 56 I am restoring, but I had 220v plug installed in my shop, and ordered a 25' extension cord, on Amazon, so I can move it around the car to work. Fyi, you can get an extension cord for $35 that is 25 feet. You can not build one for that!! This is a nice little unit and I am truly thankful there is a Harbor Freight in my town for this old guy to have a decent shop! :) And I also bought one of those nice little carts too. I did add a couple pieces of angle iron for a better support for big gas bottle. Very good little welder!!
I agree, good little welder.
Thanks for watching.
First its an honest review this video finished making my decision to buy it. But the main thing is he speaks plainly and actually sounds like he doesn't give a crap if he hurts a manufacturer's feeling which i really like.
He’s out of practice,,, holy crap I dream of being that out of practice!!
Very nice work and video.
Thank you sir for this Titanium 200 video presentation! I really appreciated what you did. I bought one about a year & a half ago & look forward to learning how to use it. I want to use it for all the reasons you said. Please make more videos later concerning this welder & showing all it can do. Thank you again.
Will do & thanks for watching.
I know how to set the welder up but I don't know how the tig tip workss
I bought the same welding cart. I put a magnet strip on it to hold my tools I extended the front out like you did. And then I welded a piece of rebar in the shape of an arch in the front over the welder to serve as a handle. And then I added three more hooks for hoses helmets and the power cord. And it was a fun project wish I could send you pics.
Lovetahunt@gmail.com
I actually have that same cart. The only thing I changed was I added a BW cylinder holder with a 2 inch stand off because I use the bigger bottles and it impacted the gas line on my welder. $39 for the cart and $23 for the bottle holder stand off adds up to a silly cheap and nice enough cart. I was able to trash the little chains too. I can lift the cart upside down and the bottle won't budge. Nice little add on.
Thank you. i took couple classes in welding back in 1989 i almost did my certification plates had to move i lost my job. Anyway i kept welding on cattle ranch projects.i amazed my self on how i did, but i tried running a couple beads about three years didnt di so good. I just bought the Titanium 140 for my B-day Dec 9, 1958 so im a little old been a working cowboy, horse trainer, truck driver, and a Solider it's time i start playing with welding. Thank you for your video nice job on your discription. God Bless Jack⛷️
Thanks for watching Jack. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for sharing your review. For someone who is out of practice, your welds look dang good! I just purchased the Titanium 170. I'm getting back into welding as a hobby. I learned how to weld back in high school, and now I'm in my 60s.
Never too old. I do notice my old eyes make it a bit more challenging.
Thanks for watching.
I love that welding cart. I have my Millermatic 211 MVP on the top and I made a few bends and put my HyperTherm 380 Plasma on the bottom shelf. I installed a set of receptacles and an quick connect air chuck on the back of the middle shelf so I can run one power cord from my wall source and one air hose from my retractable hose reel to the cart and power both the welder and plasma cutter and wheel it around where ever I need it. After several years I did upgrade the casters after the original bearings got a little "chunky" with all the weight and a 110CF bottle of C25.
I still use it and it has worked well.
Thanks for watching.
I love how smooth these new inverter welders sound
@@bradleyyounger8499 they are sure an improvement over the copper coil machines.
Thanks for watching.
I've got the 170 version, same cart. Love my rig. The Vulcan hood is a nice touch also.
I like your tattoo of deer hooves. Like you I was raised where welding was a part of the everyday business of farming. I then went into auto collision repair and used red and blue brands quite extensively for some time. 20 years ago I changed occupation and haven't been able to continue to practice like I would have liked to. I am looking to get back into having my own home-welder for projects and repairs. Thanks for the video review. I have looked at the HF machines for about a year considering it.
I don’t think you will disappointed. The TIG is a little ‘meh’ but the rest is legit.
I bought one back in November and have learned to do lots of spot MiG for car restoration. Today I learned that protective plastic covers the logo. 😂😂
Too funny. I wish I could have been more informative for you though.
I love to see welders who had the chance to use the best equipment and are not snobs : )
One of the best videos on welder and welding. You might be out of practice but you can't beat the experience. Thanks for actually doing a vertical up, a lot of people can't even do them. Where I used to work that was 80% of the job, lol. Great job. I actually just bought that exact welder and waiting for it to ship.
It works great. I actually gave it to a friend when I got my yes welder 7 in 1 and he is still using it.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review and all the info. You were very thorough. It's 850 at HF now 😞
Thanks for the video! You've probably tried setting the Argon with torch running? Before even screwing around with the Tig- Do Yourself a Huge Favor and Get yourself a Stubby Conversion Pyrex #10 cup kit around 30 bucks. Comes with everything you need and very compact comparatively - your Stick Out can be longer and Gas set Lower because your gas flow and Shielding improve dramatically And you'll be able to see Everything. This will reduce frustration and Tungsten Grinding time. Also get a pack of the mirror tungsten diamond dremel wheels for sharpening Tungsten $10
I will do all that. Thank you for the advice.
I'm using this welder now on it's 3rd year. I build custom motorcycles along with other various fabrication projects. The welder might get 30 hrs a week use on average. I've had no problems with the machine to this point. Only repairs have been regular wear out parts.
Have you tigged aluminum with it ? I am having issues getting my settings right to do so and can use some tips
I took one of those carts and made a junction box that hangs off the back so I could plug in my welder on the top shelf (Chicago Electric MIg) and my lotus plasma cutter on the bottom shelf. With the junction box on the back there's no real room for the gas tank, however I have my "extension" cord in a 5gal bucket coiled in it. And the gas can fits right in it, not really secure but doable if you watch what you're doing while moving it.
I have the Titanium 200 also, today's date is January like the 5th 2022 so I know this is a little bit older but at the time I have mine maybe 3 or 4 years it's the older style like yours is which I like much better better, than newer one they just came out with . as far as the machine goes I have it. I have a couple machines different brands Primeweld Weld 180 miG and Primeweld 225 tig , and some other machines Lincoln 140, Prime world plasma cutter 60 I love it but I really like this it's not a bad machine for the money , I've had no problems I haven't about 3 to 4 years maybe and never had an issue with it I hope you enjoyed what's yours . The reasons I got the Primeweld is the tig in the 200 works I just fine for Scratch start . I wanted a foot pedal and a better torch you can't add on to that By the way I did have a problem with it not really a problem the Regulator I couldn't get it to work quite right so I got another one right away off Amazon that's really the only issue I really had with it may have been me though I use a predator 9000 generator I'll buy machines they work fine no problem on the 9,000
The privator generator only has a 30 amp to 220 on my 9000 you can get 50 app which I highly recommend if you can get one then you get more power out of the machine
When I open mind the 1st thing I do was stick it works fantastic with the stick then I put them in the middle and I didn't flex score worked fantastic then I went and got my bottle I got the big going and I'll tell you what I was impressed the tape worked fine I just want the food but I would highly recommend this machine for the money it's not bad but you can get better deals If you buy this machine you'll do alright
I'm still liking / using my Central machines ( HF) 155 MIG welder $199. from 2002
Put some thick dust felts under the control knobs and push them snug to re install them. That way there’s some resistance on the knobs. Also, throw the regulator away and get a good one with a rotometer on it.
Several things. No, you’re not a simple guy, you know this. I like your presentation. The content is good. In general, the video is fine. I do wish you’d not use the blackout in editing. It’s disconcerting to older eyes. I always tell people to read manuals. I’ve welded since 1973. When I bought my new esab welders a while ago, I read the manuals. I always do. Sometimes there’s a gotcha you didn’t expect. And beginners really need to read manuals, as they know little, unlike us.
Otherwise I’m happy I found your channel. I usually wait until I’ve seen several episodes before I decide to sub, but I’m going to do it now. I’m interested in hearing what you have to say, and do.
Blackout? I do not understand. Help me fix it.
@@jackofalltrades7822 hi. Yes, where you are editing the cuts together, the video is blacking out for a moment. I don’t know what editor you’re using, but usually, you can just join the segments without any transition. I thought it was deliberate on your part. You must see it when you review the edit. Check the areas where the segments meet and see if there are any black frames. If so, just cut them out. That’s the best I can help without seeing the editor and the final video running in it.
Those transitions are intentional. That type is one of several transition types and all have a temp black frame of some sort. Just trying to make the video as professional as I can with my limited editing ability and software. I will try other transitions but that was the one I felt looked the best.
@@jackofalltrades7822 I understand. I just find it jarring. I used to do this professionally. And transitions can be a problem. Deoending on what they are, they can be uncomfortable for some people.
I have a two of those carts.. when assembled I tack welded all the nuts to the bolts so they will never get loose..:)
I built my welding cart for less than 40 bucks, only thing I had to buy were the casters. I used 1/8" angle iron that somebody through out on the side of the road. I do love my Titanium multi process though, built my cart using a chicago electric flux welder but knew I would be upgrading my welder so I guessed on the dimensions and slap me in the face I was almost dead on. Had to notch out two spots and perfection even if my notching looked like crap. Don't care how it looks as long as it functions.
Hello, I use the Titanium 140 and it holds up too everything that I weld. I been welding for 25 years and by far, this is the best welder for the price. I help a friend in his shop and he use millermatic 140 and te Millermatic 185, but the Titanium 140 equalls the same quality as the Millermatic for a much cheaper price.
Come on man!
You are the man you’re just bragging saying you haven’t done a vertical up in a long time you are the man !
Ha, ha. I truly hadn't done a v-up in a long time. Truth, I try to be in position when ever I can. V up is a difficult weld.
Thanks for watching.
I’m a diesel mechanic and at my job we run a Miller 252 mig machine, was tired of my cheap flux 90 machine so got the unlimited 140, same thing only 110v because I would have change my whole breaker panel in my house to add another 240 outlet so not worth it to get the 240v version. I’ll use the money saved for a better regulator. I can mig fine but never had the chance to do tig or stick so can’t wait to try it out and suck at it lol. I got a car at home I have to a trunk pan on so I’ll get to try it out come spring time. Good to know it isn’t terrible
Great video you keep it simple and no bull I’ve been on the fence and you sold me I’m going to buy one today thanks so much! Keep up the good work
Thanks for watching Eric.
Probably going to head to Harbor Freight today for their parking lot sale and grab a Titanium welder. This vid was very helpful. Thanks!
Good deal. Hope it all works out for you.
Awesome video man. I’ve been searching around for something that I can grind my teeth on learning to mig and tig with. I’d like to be able to build a go kart for my kid and learn about welding at the same time. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with the machine.
This was awesome. Just waiting for the tig vid. Glad I found your channel sir

@@jackofalltrades7822 Yes sir, I am looking to buy the Titanium 140, hopefully you can review it to let us know how good it is!!!
I am a rookie at this, but so far I have managed to put together a couch patio set, some iron work for the front of my house and I am now working on a PC desk for my self and a Full and King size bed frames for us here at home, we are tire of buying weed furniture that is never actual wood and if it is, it is usually too pricey!!! Excellent tutorial, You have not lost your touch, your a great welder...
Just bought me one looking forward to using it
I'm a professional pipe fitter/welder and tank builder/welder and I own the 140 multi. Stick welding is the only issue. I can only run 1/8th and 3/32 inch rods. I need this machine to run 5/32 rod at 130-140. I use mine in an industrial setting. Scratch start is fine for tig welding. You just hold the tungsten above the material and scratch the filler rod across it to start. The only issue is the torch doesn't have a flex head. Convenience I guess. The stick weld lead is decent. Kinda awkward at first as its. Ot a 400 amp head that we use at work. Other than that. It's lightweight and you don't want to throw any of it around as it is not heavy duty. You can however buy an after market Miller or radnor tig torch with flex head, but the attachment to run your stick lead to it, switch to tig, hook up gas in line. And it works beautifully. Been doing it for the last 2 weeks doing a half billion dollar plant with a 400 dollar welder with a 300 dollar tig torch. Doing all 304 stainless with some 316 stainless. Our company bought the protig bmvulcans and they run good too. With the same flexible head tig torches. If you don't do that. Then get the stubby ceramic tig kit for 65 bucks. It changes the collet body and head to a much better setup.
I have a titanium stick 225 and I have absolutely 0 complaints with it. Other than the fact the amp dial isn’t very precise. But other than that absolutely no complaints. Smoothest running stick welder I’ve ran and we ran Miller industrial welders at school. I’m looking to replace mine that got hurt in a barn collapse. I’m stuck between this one and the firepower (ESAB) MST200 for $100 more. Hard choice lol
Almost 6k subs, Congrats! Looking forward to seeing the continued growth.
Thanks Mike. We are getting there.
Thanks for the video. I appreciate the professional perspective on it. I was on the fence about purchasing it, but you answered my questions.
And thank you for watching.
Much appreciated.
I just subbed you because it’s good to see someone with experience, as I’m just getting started for odd jobs around the house when needed👍👍
Let me know if there is a project you want to see. Thanks for the sub.
This is easily one of the best reviews I’ve watched… you are very easy to understand and give a clear and real review. Thank you…. ‘Have a beer’… ‘suck it up’…😂😂

RIGHT. Isn't that crazy? It has been a fun ride and we will keep going. Thanks for watching.
It’s not a gem or junk. It is worth it’s price, but if your a professional welder you will find the drive rolls not very robust, I sold mine and bought a Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP Multi Process Welder. I still plan to upgrade to a better welder again so that I can use a longer whip with Tweco gun.
Excellent video; very through! Needed to know how this is and you e done a detailed, very easy to understand. Thanks man .

im 77yo now but right out of highschool i was a high rise ironworker for 20 years then transferred to pipefitters cause i never failed a weld test, nukes flying certs military or race cars,i never bought a multitask machine,if it goes down you are screwed,i welded with all brands, right now i think the miller or lincoln are the real best, the arc orbital welders seem to be what everyone is using on high purity stainless steel tubing for chip fabs, fred lozon
Thanks for reviewing this I’ve been hesitant on getting this welder I didn’t know if it was worse than the Vulcan thank you ima go get that here soon
Check out my latest vid on the YesWelder Firstess MP200.

@@jackofalltrades7822 I will definitely check it out main reason I’m looking into this is the 120v option I have a Millermatic but it’s to big to take around
@@UnKnown_11619 the YesWelder MP200 is 110 & 220 capable.
I have the Titanium 170, so pretty much same machine without the tig function. I find the it welds pretty good, especially for my beginner self. But it does seem some times the wire feed gets really wonky. It seems sometimes I have to crank the wire speed WAY up to get decent welds. But overall, like I said for a beginner doing some car projects, it works pretty well.
I had the same problem but solved a lot of it when I realized that I was using the incorrect drive wheel provided with the welder. I use flux core because I weld outside..
check your roller pressure
I just put in a 240v outlet today so we will see how it goes
@@flydaddy55 It's got the correct drive roller in it. I've had the pressure where you could stop the wire feed and I've had it tight where it could push thru a brick wall. It just seems sometimes the feed rate is erratic, especially at slower speeds for really thin sheet metal. Up about 18v and 220ipm it seems fine. I've got it on 240 now, so I'll see how it works.
Thanx for the review...i am doing a search and yours nailed down an important point: This machine does NOT have the HF Aluminum Tig start. Thats a big game changer. There is no way to keep a point on the electrode and that'll ruin it right off the bat. I will pass on it.
I love mine way better than my old Lincoln especially when you have to heft it up a ladder on top of a kitchen Hood to weld in the grease duct through ceiling grid and you're by yourself 🤣🤣🤣 been using mine for about a year now also I especially love the dual voltage capacity of it for when I only have ease of access to 110 the other thing I like about it is it has better penetration on flux core wire than my Lincoln does set at 220 of course
Wow. Wow! The Titanium 140 welder comes with a Tig welder, Mig Welder, and Stick welder, all in one, with all the necessary parts. It actually includes the Tig "torch," and it's not something you purchase separately. All for $500. Insanely good price!
Keep in mind, the 140 is not able to use a 220v input and that extra 80 amps will make a difference. Good price but light duty.
Bought one when it first came out about 4+yrs ago when I first went to welding school, major diffuser issue, did I complain, did I return it, NO! Took a tap to it and made it so it would except Vulcan tips, this thing is unbeatable but cheaply made that just won’t stop working, and work well. I have thrown out the most awesome MiG dimes on trailer builds, and flux for some insane monster gate side job builds. The market has changed since I bought mine, many players now in the welding market, I’m just commenting on personal experience.
A pro can make do with some fairly lousy tools; that said, I was surprised to see a positive review on a Harbor product from a professional.
Thanks for watching. It is a positive review at this point. I will be curious as to how long it lasts but only time will tell. It welds very nice on 110v. I now have 220 in my garage and plan to do a short welding with 220v and see how it does.
An honest review is hard to find nowadays, thank you. So many review postings or YT reviews anymore are not much different than corporate advertising using “Joe the Plumber” to sell their goods for no more cost to the company than a sponsor-supplied piece of equipment.
I've been partial to Millers, but this is a nice welder for the home workshop. Just starting out, but I enjoy welding, because I've always had a strong interest in building things.
Ha ha you had 700 subscribers just a year ago, now almost 5k great job, great video. I'll be purchasing this today, for 850.00 in FL HARBOR FREIGHT. I wish it was still 700.00
Very fun to see the channel grow. Thanks for the view.
Thank you so much for your review I really enjoyed it! Your knowledge of welding is invaluable so your excellent review and opinion is important! I was looking at Hobart handlers but I see nothing on them over this except way higher prices! There's an extremely good chance I will be purchasing this welder in the very near future! Thank you so much for your review, made me laugh a few times also!
Thanks for watching and I am glad to help. Have a great new year and I hope to hear from you in future videos..
I know a guy and what he does is buy the extended warranty and at the end of that warranty something happens to his welder so he returns it gets a new one and Another extended warranty and that process goes on over the years, the Problem i see, is he has to keep buying the extended warranties to keep his newer machines, kind of extra costly, other than that he is a happy camper
Have mine for two years right next to the Miller. Both my my in house mechanic and me grabs this machine instead of the Miller almost every time. If your doing anything production, don't get it. But the welds are clean and deep enough.
Good review. I think I will pick up this welder.
I've been to Harbor Freight and then I went to yeswelder and what I got for less money equal to Titanium welders 200 amps at 60% duty cycle way better deal plus it has safety features for feeding the wire and for purging the gas
@Walter Barger they couldn't even get me the yeswelder they lost it in the shipment I got a vevor 160 amp that's a pretty clean little welder they shipped it in 3 days
Like it, think I will buy one. I think a varient is available in Europe as Harbor Freight is available in Spain. Seems to work.
I've been wanting to get a welder for a long time and couldn't decide whichj to get!! Well you just sold me on that weilder! The price is right and for what I will welding/repairing, it should be more than sufficient. i'm about to watch the TIG video you made to see how it does.
Check this one out too. Has a plasma cutter in it as well. I have a discount code in the description.

In the shop you learn to make what we call cheaters. Which is pieces of metal that are straight that you can put your knuckles against and get a perfectly straight weld. Really good for overhead for beginners
Very informative and thank you for explaining things at the level new peeps just getting into welding can understand. You got yourself a new sub. Thanks again!
Thank you. Be sure to check out my latest video. It is my 1k subscriber give away.
I've been using one of those Chicago Electric $100 Flux MIG welder for several years, it works, but I agree, if you really want to weld a lot don't buy one, buy a Titanium or Vulcan MIG welder, spend the extra few bucks...yeah that $100 welder does work, but it seems even with my limited welding skills its inconsistent no matter what settings you pick, it kind of does what it wants.
I'm sold..thanks for video
Glad it helped.

This is my dream machine, but I am on disability. I have a Titanium Flux 125 that I use for my projects for now. I miss some opportunities because I only have flux core
Unfortunately they are not giving them away.
You should also check out my YesWelder MP 200 review. It has a plasma cutter built in to it. It is a touch more $$ but the plasma cutter is worth it.
Thanks for watching.
THANKS, YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF
Hard to tell 'junk or jewel'. The warranty is great as I have been through 10 of these machines. Love how they weld until they don't. The wire feed always gives up within 3 spools of wire(12 lbs). Anybody else have this problem. Running mostly .025 wire on 14gauge tubing. If so, is motor or circuitry that gives up?
Any updates
@@richardvillanueva8786 found problem with wire feed drive, brushes move lose contact. Pulled it our reset them runs perfect. New drive is $68, so not expensive to fix.
700 Subs!?!? My dude is up to 13.6K! Congratulations.
Thanks and thanks for watching. It has grown a little.
We had Airco Heliarc's made in the 60's. They were so good the company went out of business. You only needed to buy 1 of them to last a lifetime.
Yes, there's lots of them still around. Volvo went bankrupt after they built the 240 model because half their customer base are still driving them after 30 years. The old welding machines are heavier and take more room, but for the same money you can buy a Heliarc or Idealarc and leave it to your grandchildren. If you get 5 years out of this piece of crap, consider yourself lucky.
Cheap welders today are not like the cheap welders of the past. They are much improved.
Very true

Great Video thanks for your help !

Great concise video from a concise and professional welder. And P.S. i wish i could be as good as your worst weld.
Glad you found this useful. It’s been a good machine still.
I appreciate Harbor Freight putting out some machines that you can justify buying without having to be a professional. But then they still work really well as long as you take care of them. Obviously more industrial machines can handle more abuse and whatnot but those machines can be a waste if they are not being used everyday making thousands of dollars for a business.
Agreed...thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video. You have gained a follower. I scoured CZcams, for a solid review of this welder. One question, before I go do family things this morning, have you bought the spool gun and have you used it?
I looked at those machine and just didn't like how cheap the switches felt. But for 700 beans it's not to bad.
Thank you for making this video, very helpful
I got one and I am not certified but I think it tig weld's pretty good especially if you are just starting
I think (if you bought a warranty) you can take that regulator in and let them replace it. That can be a one off issue for that particular unit. Question: Are you using standard 14 gauge house wire and house plug for your source? What is the amperage of the breaker at the house box? I have a 12 gauge wire I ran to my wood working shop from the breaker box with a 20 amp breaker. It is 45 feet long with professional (not contractor) plugs. I also ran a 10 gauge extension cord to extend it to the other side of my shop (because I had it on hand) and it is 25 feet long, from the 12 gauge plug. (Found that one at HF on the sale table for $25). Anyway, I know I got awesome cabling for my shop use, if not overkill, but I am concerned about welding source.
My shop is wire 20 amp with 12/2 wire. You should be fine.
The Vulcan is better built have brass gears instead of plastic like the titanium ,I got me a Titanium and took it back and pay a little more and got me the Vulcan 215 and never have any problems .I could not get the gas to come out in the Titanium welder that was the problem and I have been welding for like 30 years
True statement but that would be why the Vulcan is also far more expensive.
Thanks for watching.
I had 2 of the 200 welders. Both broke. Luckily I had the warranty. Bought a hobart instead
That sucks dude. I hope it doesn’t happen here. So far I have run 6 spools of wire through it and no problems. Fingers crossed 🤞 it continues.
@@jackofalltrades7822 i only got 1 10lb total through both. The first one only last me a month and the wire stopped feeding. The second one started doing it at 1 year.
@@jackofalltrades7822 If you get 5 years out of it I'll eat my shorts.
