  • HERE IS REACTION TO THE RELEASE OF THE FILM "THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST". SOME PEOPLE SURE SEEM TO REACT QUITE STRONGLY TO A MOVIE. IT IS AFTER ALL FAKE BLOOD AND ACTORS. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I AM A CATHOLIC BUT STILL ITS JUST A MOVIE.
I HOPE NONE OF THESE PEOPLE SEE "ZEITGEIST", WHICH IS QUITE PROVOCATIVE. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THEIR REACTION WOULD BE.

When so many people complained about “excessive violence” in this film, I realized that they really didn’t understand just what a crucifiction entails. The violence was appropriately depicted in the film. Yes it was gory, but that’s what happened. The main complaint I had when I watched the film was that I felt they should have explained more about why Jesus was dying for us, so non-believers would understand. I knew the story, but I felt that lacked a proper narrative for people unfamiliar with the death/resurrection of Jesus.

moshomaniac1 The film did an accurate job depicting what happened in Jesus’s last hours. But if I recall the movie did not intend to focus much of what he said but a visual of what occurred. I would say to take a look at the classics or Jesus Of Nazareth where most of what he talked about in the gospels are well put.

@@VanillaEarth744 The original concept for "Passion" showed crucfixion in a more brutal and more realistic way. You can find draft storyboards for it. It was noticeably toned down in the final film, and frankly I think it was a good call to tone it down. It is still the most violent depiction in all Jesus movies.

I watched this film, and I wish I could save Him, but how can you turn back time? What has been done, has already been done. All that was left was gratitude for what He did for me, and a strong resolve to be worthy of His sacrifice and not sin anymore, so His suffering would not be in vain.

If you need to step outside to gather yourself, please do so, if you need to leave please do so as it is a strong and disturbing film to watch.” As soon as the movie began, not even 15 into the film and there were people fainting and crying their lungs out… kneeling down almost in humility. I get where all the "anti-semitic" thing is coming from but this movie is based on the events written in the Bible, The movie did not deliberately set out to offend Jewish people, it is basing its content on the writings which describe the people as Jewish. How is someone going to make a movie about an important book and not stay true to its material. Get real. The Movie is graphic yes (its called the passion, which in our religion refers to the great suffering Christ endured for us) but It has an audience. If you are not, then don't watch it.

Facts! 9 out of 10 people will never shed a single tear for a movie, especially when it has intense violence, but out of that 9, 8 of them will shed a tear watching passion of the Christ. why is this? truth is, every human being's soul quietly cries out to his creator God. Whether you believe or not, your soul believes, and whenever your physical being witnesses such a powerful truth of a gruesome death, which was God's way of saying, " i am paying for your lies, your murder, your cheating, your robbery, your hate for each other, all of your evil, is being paid for, so you as a human can some day have the chance to return to your father God, and not lost to eternal damnation. The wrath of God that should be against me for my sins, was instead bore by a man who was without sin. As it says in Isaiah 53:5-6: "He was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities...by his scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on him." There has to be atonement for sin, and I am incapable of atoning for it. Jesus became my atoning sacrifice.

You know I remember the hype people just parked out of the theater getting tickets I remember recommending it to people who weren't really church going after they saw they couldn't stop crying, girls hugging me thanking me to not stop bugging them until they saw it. Being speechless after seeing it. Cheering at the end when Jesus rose up out of his tomb at the end to be at the right hand of the father.

I know this movie is graphic. I know. But it shows the reality of what he went through. I don't care if the New York Times think it lacked grace. It wasn't sugar coated because when Jesus was crucified it wasn't pretty. It was hard and painful, but he never complained. Those critics did not understand it all.

Mickey Deez Well almost every time someone has treated me poorly, their life proceeds to drastically reduce in quality, as they seem to face a barrage of series of unfortunate events. Call it karma, or God, or whatever you will. I've found people usually get what they deserve, no revenge necessary. You treat them well, you get good back. When I tried revenge, I received punishment too.

Brutally honest yet in a good way that touches the soul deeper than any other movie about Jesus Christ ever has. I don't think this movie is anti-semetic, because The "Powers that Be" in every nation would have done the same thing to Jesus Christ just as the Jewish religious leaders had.. Christ died for all mankind- so apparantly no nation can brag they would have acted any differently. Fallen man is the same everywhere. All humanity crucified Jesus.

Spelling error, I meant to say "Who" not "We". Anyway, God gave you freewill, YOU choose that way of belief not God. How He communicates with people is through other people and God isn't commanded by the orders of men. That's where you're down here and He's up there, there's a reason for that.... And as for the crucifixion, it was necessary to restore what was lost though mans freewill choice to be separated from God through sin...

Prequal to the movie telling now the whole life of Jesus from his birth in the barn and end it at the last supper where passion picks up, I guarantee not only will it bring more inspiration to the world but also just educate people more. Seeing Jesus restore sight to the blind man, raise the girl from the dead, casting the demons out of that one man.
