    That hinge point is way behind the rear axle. I've got the Bison...it's about a foot behind rear axle... pretty much at the end of the rear fender

    I feel the reeving system is overkill on this type of trailer but you put 10 ply tires? I would like to see dual jacks up front, 8” channels instead of 6”, tool box, and 16 ply all steel tires. I do like that include lights and wireless operating feature. Nice welds though for sure

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  Před rokem

      Truth is so many guys are overloading their trailer. Adding snatch blocks to a system already meant to pull 5 tons is overkill but is done all the time by people with these types of trailers.

    • @tomcat5986
      @tomcat5986 Před rokem

      right, 10 ply tires? Come on, dion't skimp on tires when this trailer is going to be damn near $40k I'm sure.

    Looks great very similar to mine. Main difference is mine is bumper pull and I was stupid and didn't get a tarp system. So we manually tarp are dumpsters.

      What brand do you have? Can't you add the tarp system after the fact?

    I’ve been cross shopping new tween a few brands for roll off and Texas Pride is at the top of my list but this changes some things I would love to hear more about pricing and possible packages offered.

    would love to hear your opinion on the dura haul roll off trailers. comes with three 14 yard bins, seems well built, and a standardized rail. I put a deposit on one and kinda nervous about it.

    Hey Josh, quick question. How did you manage to start running roll off dumpsters even though the big guys had a franchise agreement? Im in the same boat, but was wondering how you were able to still run them. I will keep commenting till i get an answer hahah

    We have made a few prototypes at PDQ in dunnellon fl once i get my press brake in june we will be full production on these types of trailers and can i can assure that our trailers will be constructed of I Beam there is no room for channel frames on roll off trailers we have fixed way to many from the frames bending or the channels folding over they have a great system and can design but their frame would scare me away just a opinion from another trailer manufacture and machine shop

  • @BackRoadBound
    @BackRoadBound Před rokem +1

    Reeving is a bit overkill for a small trailer. Electric over hydraulic can handle more than that trailer is rated for.
    Good quality build vs TP and the other non standard rail options, but I will keep my Bison/Couger trailers. I'm getting 17.5 16plys on my new build ;)

    • @tecraptor
      @tecraptor Před rokem +1

      Wrong. Currently running a Bison setup with a dead-lift winch. When you have a dumpster at capacity that is rear loaded, you will be wishing you had a hydraulic-reeving setup as your winch will struggle and your battery will be drained by the time it’s all the way loaded.
      Reeving systems can triple the lifting power of a dead lift cable simply by mechanic advantage. This is the way for a full-time trailer set up.

    • @BackRoadBound
      @BackRoadBound Před rokem

      @@tecraptor I have dead pulled 8.1 tons of frozen rotted food in a 4600lb can(20,000+lbs) up an inclined loading dock with the 15,000 rated Come Up.
      Not something I would want to do everyday or really ever again, but it did it. I knew it was heavy, but did not know it was that heavy.
      My average load is under 3 tons. Usually with a heavy load like you are talking about, put truck in reverse and pull up under can to take some load off the winch. Not always possible, but works well.
      If it is heavy rear load you are going to put more stress on the tilt hinges than anything IMO.
      I have picked up over 500 cans with that come up in a year and still going strong. Knock on wood.

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  Před 9 měsíci

      I’ve never ran a reeving setup but there were times I wish I would have so hard to have an educated opinion on this one.

  • @Lifes_Apprentice

    I see a couple issues (minor) with the trailer. Companies who design and built these types of trailers need to ask someone who uses them regularly to help them... The first people who buy them are not going to be happy because several things will break almost immidiately

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
      @AmericanAFDumpsters  Před rokem

      Keystone has been in the industry for a while, and Bram, the guy who designed it was in commercial dumpster trucking business for I believe 20 years before working for Keystone. For what it is, and what it's worth, its a HUGE step up from what us Southern states have to choose from. If they could find a way to make me a hooklift, I'd buy it as a backup in a heartbeat lol

    • @AmericanAFDumpsters
