- In Kazakhstan, the inhabitants have adapted to withstand all of nature's challenges. This film takes us into the centre of a snowstorm where thousands of travellers find themselves caught in an enormous traffic jam. We meet farmers who rely on hostile land. The Aral Sea, now completely dried out, has given place to a desert made up of sand, salt, and dust that's toxic to the inhabitants.
Director : Philippe Lafaix
When I watch this series I always think about the film crews. Where do they sleep? Do they bring food and water with them? How do they stay warm? Hats off to the staff who create this under harsh conditions.
Can I say this is far better than the roads in Africa 🤔🤔
Greetings from Ghana 🇬🇭
No it isn't. The cold will kill you much faster than the heat.
the africa documentaries are the best brother
Oh my country, yes its endless adventure living here, look at this in positive way, everytime I drive more than 50 km away from cities I feel freedom and adventure, its never boring. Kazakh means free people, so it is what it is.
Man, i was born in Almata, dont remember much from kazakhstan, but i love this country :3
I love that saying. I use it all the time. My son hates it. Some things we cannot change and we just have to accept it. It is what it is.
same with mongolia hha
These are very bad roads...we are lucky in europe....but i don't understand why this Trucks without chains on wheels.....why?
Struggling in a country without basic infrastructures isn't a fun adventure.
I am in love with this series and have watched almost all episodes by now. What a gripping story telling. Excellent job. Kudos.
Me too!
That's a man's life. Such heroes. Greetings from Hungary, brothers and sisters.
Hungarians are Huns, similar to Kasachs
"His greatest fear is to find his truck in frozen ice in the morning." Yeah, that thawed-out ice doesn't bother me, either. It's the frozen ice that is the problem.
I.m a trucker in America I've been all over the country love watching some if these videos makes me glad I live in the good old USA
Yèh....it makes one appreciate the old Uncle Sam one party state......we thankfully have no crumbling infra structure ..
Thankfully also we're back to buisiness as usual with the Dems.....onward to the next war....with Our Fine Military....
@@PAULLONDEN this is a video showing the hardships we humans endure each day across the globe. How is this in any relevance to your "Dems vs Rep" political bs? And speaking of "Dems starting war in our military"...you do know that Republican presidents holds the record for most starting wars right? Personally, if you ask me, Republicans are idiots, Democrats are idiots...therefore, anyone that labeled themselves as "conservative/liberal" are idiots. How about we all just be an "American" instead of a sheep.
Legendary Landcruiser is the protagonist on every single chapter of deadliest journey 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪👏👏👏🎉👏👏👌
It's because it's the only piece of shit they can afford lol... Probably not even the original motor in them😂
The one thats being towed by an old ass soviet truck??? Yes legenary🤣
No Toyotas, no Mitsubishis, here it's uaz territory! I would be curious to see a land cruiser climbing like a uaz!! Not to mention kamaz zil kraz and other soviet trucks..!
Because everything other then the Toyota's r shit.
So much for the Toyota legendary reliability, but those USSR Van's are little tanks
Rough living I won't ever complain about a bad road ever again.🕊️🙏
Спасибо авторам!👍 много их роликов смотрел, про дороги монголии, сша, южной америки, африки, росии и вот про казахстан.
This video shows how lucky I was to be born in the U.S. You are truly tough and admirable people in Kazakhstan
this looks a lot like rural Saskatchewan , Canada, clay , mud , poor surface drainage.

Hi, as a Kazakh for nation, your Saskatchewan= Canadian Astana for Kazakhstan
28:59 - that rat was unexpected, but so cool
They should have explained that the air is not so dirty and unhealthy because of the salt, but because the lake was incredibly polluted, and now all that pollution is on the soil, together with that polluted salt we saw.

Surprised more people dont have tire chains, they work great
Absolutely outstanding documentary
Love these series.. the best of youtube 💕
Fantastic video, as always!
Казахстан Виликая страна Родина моя очень Люблю Её ...
One of the best.
That old soviet van looked so cool. It’s a shame they’ve destroyed the landscape through mining for oil.
This the best series which i would like watching always
As an Aussie i literally can't comprehend that cold. Like my mind can't fathom what it would be like. I've been snowboarding but that was still above 0°c. The coldest it gets here is maybe 5°c on a really bad winter morning.
Im Norwegian and the coldest i have been in is -35 but to go another 20+ or Even more is insane
@Frede Nord I'd love to experience it. We have extreme heat regularly in summer. 4-5 days in a row of 42-45°c is brutal. I think I'd rather be cold than hot but just speculation
На севере опускается до -30 а на юге 20-25 мороза

It seems as though the worst snows we get our always late in the winter or early spring if it does snow, it snows like crazy
That storm would not even slow us down in upstate New York

how is life in kenya :)
Awesome we love our cruisers, rovers for serious offroading but nothing compared to this it seem tough american trucks couldn't handle some of our terrain I love jeeps though
what im wondering about is where does the cameraman go when the drivers are stuck? do they sleep with the drivers in the cab of their trucks too?
I am pretty sure, SnowRunner game inspired by this documentary and a couple of facts along the story. 2 trucks here appear in SnowRunner but, with different names avoiding copyright.

Can someone please tell me what year was this recorded?

Why thank you? You was in Kazakhstan
26:26 "my truck isn't refrigerated and I'm carrying perishable cakes" ??? Your surrounded by Ice... Derp. (as always Thanks to B.D. for another great video.)
so? the driver has a better understanding of how long he will be stuck than you do. he's predicting he will continue to be stuck as temperatures rise above freezing.
Probably not good for them to freeze either
@@DavidVoxDem Ah ok, they may need to be climate controlled.. good point.
There is good reason to wear sunglasses in snow and rain, polarized lenses, help see-through fog even at night sometimes
I suspect the comment was that this one driver is wearing sunglasses while the others are not, making the one wearing the sunglasses look like some kind of government agent or something.
Thats the reggaeton that we hear this days is old in middle east
Wow, I did not see any gas station or garage (to fix cars). A few restaurants if you are stuck for a few days. I did not see any road rage. I guess you do your best to move forward with your life.
46:54 The taxi driver did oil change in the middle nowhere and let the old oil spilled on the ground. The soil is so contaminated.
Please tell me the name of song starting at 44:30 seconds.
I truly want to know the reason why these Truck Drivers have no chains on their tires...
44.32 what song it is? name please.
Winter tyres and snow chaines.
Please tell me the name of song in taxi driver cab at 44:28
Pioneer park
This must be the toughest place on earth that a Toyota broke down.
Not a snow chain in sight!
4:30 I wonder what’s between those two places that they want to avoid so bad
44:38 Please anyone know this song?
I guess snow chains are a unknown thing in that country!!!.
Maybe they can't afford them
Aлга Казахстан!
47:01 just think if that oil was in a bottle or two if somebody were freezing out there and they found one of those bottles I could heat themselves up if you can't recycle is probably best to recycle a little bit at least
what's the title of the song from 44:30 tried to shazam no results
Am also looking for it
Lol I'm a Kazakh and that sounds awful and old sound 😂😂

_"A driver with sunglasses in the middle of a (snow) storm"_ ......
Nothing weird about that ; mountain climbers , arctic peoples , skiers wear them against snow blindness.
7:50 These are high quality docus, but that seemed a remnant of attempting to demonize Russia.
Yes, when the sun shines and reflects that would be true but in the given weather, wearing sunglasses was I bit odd, I think.
@@utl94 9:01 Any white-out can be blinding. Anyway many people wear dark coated glasses the whole day , either for medical purposes , fashion , or out of choice.......Hi Bob (Dylan)
I suspect the comment was that this one driver is wearing sunglasses while the others are not, making the one wearing the sunglasses look like some kind of government agent or something.
@@PAULLONDEN Well, sure. Still odd, though, I think (odd as in standing out or unusual).

If the 2 guys made a CZcams channel they would get a huge following. Please send them a Sony :-D
What are those horses drinking? Wine or antifreeze?😳
The horses are given clean water. There is pure snow around and it is melted, then given to the horses. The nature and the air are clean, so the snow and water are crystal clear.
These Kazakh people are very good-looking!
How did that restaurant where people were staying stuck for five days, not run out of food?
I'm surprised that they didn't know to air down the tires when they were stuck in the mud. That would have made a big difference.
Brazil, hi.
Im surprised the guy in the stuck payloader didn't use the bucket to push himself out.
✌🏾🙏🏾🐜there is a better way . . . i go, to prepare a place for you . . . 🙏🏾✌🏾🐜
Why don't they use snow chains over there?
Why would they drive in the middle of that muddy field??
Why dont the trucks have chains

Not a single car or truck with chains 😂👍, they are literally crazy, if they stuck they will freeze in couple of hours.
A very sick and sad video

You need chains to operate in these conditions
nobody can get out the 2 trucks that are stuck so when the front end loader comes in, it stays on the dry road right? to pull the trucks out... Nope it too drives right into the same shit that got them stuck how can these people be this thick and live there year-round
why are they driving without snow chains ❓️🤦🏼♂️🙉
