The Emperor protects, but a fully functioning Gellar field does help 👍🏻
Lets hope it stays that way
Macro Cannons also help
Don't forget the plasma macros
Galler fields were made by The Emperor and it is heresy to not use them.
@@beastwarsFTW apparently Uri Geller invented the Gellar field! 😂

Imperial guardsmen are expendable.
A voidsman not, because to kill one of them you have to put a hole in a ship that isn't expendable
Space man
Hell if I had the choice of being stranded on a hive world and joining the imperial navy I'd take the navy
🎼In the Navy
Slavery and starvation on a hive or way more risk of demonic encounter and soul tearing experience as you travel the warp often.
More like having to choose between plague and cholera.

Aye, the lore be that The Maid-Sororitas accidentally Discovered it on a private STC stash labled "work stuff" in the Emperors bottom drawer.
Upon activation it sent instant pulse throughout the Webway imprinting itself onto machine spirit tech including Titans down to the HUD systems of Astartes and militarium.

It is I, Lord High Admiral Spire, and I approve of this video.
Aren't you under investigation for consorting with xenos?
Aaron James You know too much
Lord High Admiral Spire, by order of the Imperium of Man, and by decree of our holy Emperor, I, Inquisitor Rade Shen, am here to take you into custody. You stand charged with crimes of high treason and conspiring with Xeno lifeforms and will stand before the High Lords of Terra. Power down your ships and prepare to be boarded.

He forgot to mention the combat shotguns the armsmen also use.
Nobody mentions the poor bastard who has to refuel the reactor on those things smh. Ehh in the Imperium any faithful will do anyway.
A reminder of the crude technology of the Imperium
@@thegrandadmiral471 Indeed. Still remember the 1st time I learned of the refueling "process" and was just like... Wtf. Speaking of tech sophistication & ships tech, do you recall the interaction between a pre dark ages ship A.I. and a cult mechanicus member?

This is crap. Never leaving the ship?! How does quarantine from wuhan virus feel? There is no tech work. Man, Lotara Sarrin is HAWT in that thumbnail.
But why her as the thumbnail she was the fleet captain of the fleet under the world eaters and angron as the commander of his flagship
I am a simple man. I see Flag-Captain Sarrin, I stand at attention!
I loved this.. listening made it feel like it's real. Gursh your scripting has improved so much over the years. I lost the channel for a year and a half, and thankfully this quarantine gives me some time to catch up

I heard trillions then I thought it was billions then I realized it's 40K.
Well at least you'll live longer on a imperial battleship than being in the guard so that's a plus?.
that comment about what would i do in Warhammer 40K, was gold.
Hey, Gursh- I really liked this video. I’ve always been fascinated by sea battles and the ocean-going navies of our own planet and past. The habits and traditions are just so incredibly rich with amazing detail that I have never been bored, even as a little kid, learning about ships under sail, fighting with cannon and brilliant strategy. I know it’s not about a warship, just a whaling ship, but Moby Dick is my favorite book because it’s a whole new world to learn about, even though on board it only takes place over maybe 1-2000 square feet! Anyway- didn’t mean to go off on a tangent- just wanted to say thank you for an awesome video about The Imperial Navy and how different, yet also how similar, it can be with our own ocean-going Navy. I’m looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos about other aspects of the Imperial Navy. Have a great day!
These is one of the most informative WH40k videos, I really learned a lot. You sir earn my respect....
This is one of my favorite videos you have done so far! it's awesome! :D
Better the Navy than to be in the Guards. Less marching for one. Less dying too probably...
Warhammer 40K lore authors apparently did not know that "flag officer" = Admiral or General (O-7 through O-10). Lower ranking Officers are not referred to as such, to include Captains.
Yea, pretty much all of the naval ranks seem to be a tad bit cattywompus. It seems to be a tradition for the witers to ascribe to the Michael Bay tactical school and not bothering to check to see if its even in the same postal code as plausibility. From rank structures to tactics some is good and some screams amateur from the highest peaks.....
A flag Lt. used to be the signals officer/personal secretary of the captain. A flag Captain fills in the same role for an admiral
Feels so good man
At 2:46, it looks like Gursh became a tech-priest! (Never saw one with facial hair before!). Little piece of trivia- the term “bosun” was originally an abbreviation of the term “boatswain”, and can occasionally still be found written in that way, or with another abbreviation, “bos’n”. There’s even a specific piece of equipment linked to them, called a “bosun’s whistle”- everyone has probably even heard it without realizing it- it’s that sound that accompanies a high ranked officer (usually the captain) arriving on deck- I’m sure it’s easy to find on google or even CZcams if you were curious. I got one as a gift as a kid, and always loved it (if you couldn’t tell!). I hope everyone watching is staying safe and healthy- take care, all.
I am curious, who operates the big BIG guns of a ship? Who aims and pulls the trigger against chaos?
Still waiting on that daily life on a battleship video
I would like to see your opinion on the Astartes 1-5 films and see if you feel it aligns with the 40k world
So.... shares in Hub stock are great longterm. Get Dave Ramsey on the line!

I wonder how much influence a planetary governor would have over the naval forces stationed on their planet. It seems they have control over naval commissions, so I wonder if they would also have any control over things like the uniforms their officers and crewmen would wear?
Cool episode, I like 40k information that describes minutae of the Empire of Mankind. It would be interesting to find out about the bathroom facilities across the galaxy. Is bathing a strong tradition as it was in the Roman Empire?
I would imagine it depends on the type or world and culture you’re visiting
Rule question: Think they will be Improving the Volkite weapons next edition?
Great video
Great video 🔥🔥🔥
All I can picture in my head now is the Village People video "In the Navy" taking place in the WH40k universe. Does anyone dare to adapt the lyrics?
We would all like to hope we would be a badass space marine or a powerful Planetary Gov, but If I was to live a normal human life in the 40k universe. And it mirrored what I have had the opportunity to do with my life in this reality. I would most likely have ended up as a skilled technician on some mining planet to start with. I work in oil and gas. I have electrical technical skills and have now spent many years involved in drilling and operations of gas wells and moved into management roles recently. I just emigrated to a different country 3 years ago...so rather than staying on a planet I am sure, given the opportunity to travel the galaxy if a Navy ship arrived on my world, Id have chosen that life. And probably at this stage in my life id be seen for my skills and experience in my particular role and my leadership skills and be moved into a Crew boss position. Far from the exciting life of a space marine haha. But better than being a slave.....
Great video, great content!
Appreciate it!
This guy putting art from hentai foundry in his vid lol.
I do want to learn more about the different classes of ships
You make a video about the "Imperial" navy. Then for the cover image you use a picture of Captain Lotara Sarrin of Conqueror, flagship of the XII Legion World Eaters During the Horus Heresy. Captain Sarrin served directly under Angron himself. The bloody handprint on her uniform is a show of respect from non other than Kharn the bloody.
Sex sells man.
OneMindSyndicate sure does 😂
I listen to this while stretching so 15:00 made me laugh awkwardly lol
this makes Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 so much better for me!
anyone knows the estimate crew compliments of imperial cruisers?
In the prologue Admiral katalias cruiser lost 65000 hands after trying to measure dick sizer with the vengeful spirit and they were trying to pass on the idea that the shipwas 90%damaged and about to br gone so for example im going to suggest for cruisers like hers 70000 or 80000 hands
Lunar Class Cruiser according to Rogue Trader has a compliment of around 95.000 crew working and living on it's 5.1 or something kilometer long vessel.
That is why I had a little nerdgasm moment when that cutscene played with the 65.000 dead on one ship. Seems like some reasonable losses for a almost crippled ship. I say almost because it could still do that ramming maneuver, but by then it was essentially a metropolis-sized coffin with engines really. Shipboard fires, hull breaches, malfunctioning plasma circuits, ordnace explosions etc tend to eat crew quickly and you can get all of that by one broadside from a vessel like Failbaddon's.
Suggestion: you could do a video on the eldar corsaris?
Yeah that sounds like fun
Great video and content just one question
I thought the navy used shot guns and projectile weapons becuse of the possible damage inflicted on the hull?
I would imagine that they are trained to avoid the exposed or weaker areas. Also I think the caliber of weapons they are rocking are likely to be far below the required level to breach the hull or the very least they have restricted ammo types to prevent such an occurance.
Question: who’s the highest ranked void born and do any fight?
2:42 exactly where do you get this art from....
Saw it and went "whoooah, I need the lore video on this"
The same place where Slaneesh gets his rocks off.
hell yeah I need more women like those in my bookclub group!

See I wondered that too
great video, really informative, just wondering but what is the source of literally the first image in the video? The one at the the Vox relay on the bridge?

Good idea
It would suck being a voidsman and having khorne marines board your ship.
Where can I find the picture are 2:37? I gave a campaign that this would set a scene for perfectly!! Need to find this.
Voidborn yes - what about the warpborn? Those born on a spaceship while its in warp travel
Join the emperor's navy, where the journey begins
Can spacemarines work for the imperial navy?
Lieutenant Moore yes but only if they go through the same process
Rick Franklin That’s wrong
Rick Franklin I’m sure space marines are separate from the imperial navy
Gregory Carrington why are they depicted as ship captains then? I don’t think you know what you’re talking about
Adeptus Astartes are completely seperated from the Imperial Navy. They do NOT fall under the authority of Sector- or even Segmentum Command. They are pretty much free to do as their chapter wants, but tend to lend a hand or interfere where needed. Of course that is also depending on the chapter in question. Salamanders will help differently than let's say Black Templars.
Oh and after the Horus Heresy Astartes technically are not allowed to have fleets themselves.
Their vessels are basically armed transports and there to aid invasions and deployment of Space Marine forces. Because, you know, they got to get to the battle somehow.
That's why their ships are so different and also why the designations are different. No Cruisers or Battleships. Strike-Cruisers and Battle-Barges are very different things, even though the size and armament could be argued is somewhat comparable.
Even Astartes Strike Cruisers have mostly human voidsmen assigned to them. Space Marines don't even really do the whole captain-thing, by that I mean SHIP-Captain. They have basically navy crews that are usually permanently assigned to the chapter, so for life as that is how permanent assignment goes for most people in the Imperium. While the ranking Astartes of a ship can usually tell the captain to do XY they leave the bulk of the command to the human officers, only telling them what they want out of a situation and let the ship-captain deal with the details.
For instance the Space Marines want to boad an enemy vessel, so the ranking Astartes tells the captain of the ship he wants to go with two squads over. The captain gives the orders to close distance, maneuver into position, launch the assault craft, etc.
So while the ship's captain still has mostly total authority over the vessel and it's crew the Astartes call the big-boi shots. Of course since Space Marines are basically worshipped as angels you will have to look very hard, like an Inquisitor in fact, to find anybody that scoffs at the situation. Most that serve on a vessel of the Adeptus Astartes are honored beyond words to be of use to the Emperor's Angels of Death in whatever small or not so small way they can.
And yes an Astartes can basically hitch a ride on any imperial navy ship. Absurdly rare and absurdly stupid is the captain that would refuse them.
It's all fun and games until tyranids starts to infest the vessel
Nice

Omg guys astartes part five just dropped😮
I like it.
Why there's an umgi with Bloody Handz sign on the tooltip?
Gather the throng! By my beard, the umgi allied with the grobi!
If you live in the Imperium and your not a high born or in a position that keeps you away from the war or din of regular life, the Imperial Navy is one of the better lives citizens could have.
the adeptus astartes ships crews are humans or astartes as well ? i dont se a magnificent astartes fueling and firing ship cannons. but hey everything can be.
The adeptus astartes have chapter Surfs and servitors who oerform menial labor?
Correct. Some legions will also take failed marine aspirants as honored serfs. But yes they have humans aboard the ship.
Keep it up
what's that song at the end ?
Do they have any type of marines?
So, not much has changed since the time of wooden sailing ships on earth.

Imperial navy life does not seem that fun. It is like flogging and punishment of the Napoleonic wars.
