Summer Climbing in the Verdon & My Most Difficult Climb!

A few weeks in the Verdon gorge in the southeast of France proved to be epic for the soul and climbing. Excellent food, great wine, and EPIC HARD climbing!! I climbed my first 8a/5.13b!

Be careful with snakes in the cracks, they love to take a nap in these 😉
Also, next you will go in France, visit the Gorges du Tarn, it’s another famous climbing spot like the Verdon.

Verdon is difficult and very often you have to abseil to get to the routes. But now they also have easier stuff.

The route is: Un our tous tous bourrins" - I took the right variation at the top, but both are 8a. Such a classic line at a rarely traveled cliff, it seems.

Nothing formal, but when approaching cliffs there are a lot of fixed ropes and stuff. They are not cables though, so I wouldn’t want to test them too much
