    I got the benq pd2705U 4k but it seems dim and not as sharp as my iMac 27” .. is that how it’s supposed to be? When the review says the contrast and clarity is excellent, is this acceptable or is my monitor damaged?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před rokem

      Hi Jacqueline! It's difficult to say, the iMac displays are high quality and with their glossy finish, the contrast can appear higher. It also depends which iMac you have as they do offer a model with a higher resolution than the BenQ! The contrast and clarity of the PD27 is great but it does take some tweaking (in the settings) to get it properly calibrated to your exact setup.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey I can't decide between this 27" Ben and the Asus PA279cv for my Mac. If I connect it with USB C what bandwitch will be left for the other usb ports ? Because it is not thunderbolt are the hub really useful to connect an external SSD or a soundcard for example ?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před rokem

      Hi Najib, it depends on your workflow. You do have access to 2 USB type B upstream ports (some audio interfaces and midi controllers will use this connection) along with the USB-C connection for your computer. It isn't a thunderbolt connection but BenQ has packed quite a few connectivity variations to choose from but it doesn't work for everyone.

      @@HuntsPhotoandVideo Thanks for the answer, it's for a 14" M1 Pro so USB C is nice but I've read on the manuel that if I use it in 4k 60Hz the other usb ports will be just USB 2.0. Have I understood it correctly ? My soundcard is a MOTU ultra lite in usb C aswell.

      Hi John! Unfortunately, at this point we only sell monitors so specific computer component compatibility is a little out of our wheelhouse. We suggest contacting your local Micro Center (or local computer store) as they will be able to suggest the exact compatible units to go with your motherboard! Let them know what resolutions and maximum framerates you will be working with.

    hi man, do you think pd2705U's 250nits brightness is okay or is it low?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před měsícem

      Hello! It really depends on the lighting conditions in your workspace. For everyday indoor use, 250 nits is plenty bright. If you are working in a brightly lit area with heavy sunlight, it could pose an issue if not using in HDR mode. It comes down to preference!

    I bought the 27” one as a second monitor for my 27” iMac. Unfortunately the apple retina screen makes the Benq look dull and lifeless. Is there a set up trick I’m missing?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před 13 dny

      Hello! Depending on which iMac you are running and your current settings, the Apple retina screens tend to have a slightly higher pixel density than the BenQ monitors. BenQ also has a matte/anti-glare finish whereas Apple has a glossy, high-contrast screen but colors should render very similarly on both. We suggest doing a full color calibration with your BenQ as well as looking into your color preferences to dial it in.

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Benjamin! Unfortunately we have not tested them against each other so we can only give you the minor differences in specs. As far as we can tell they differ in terms of color gammut (BenQ - 99% sRGB & 99% Rec. 709) (LG - 95% DCI-P3 & 95% CIE1976), weight (BenQ - 20.72lb) (LG - 34.1lb), and price! There are likely some more specific working differences but without a true test, it will be difficult to tell as they seem quite similar.

      This PD2705Q also has a USB-C (charging + display) only. USB-C is different than TB.
      So, if you want daisy chain your Mac to PD and then via DP to another PD, you need TB (and I am not sure if the M1 or even M2 support multiple monitors over TB at all).
      Now I have one cable to my PD2700Q and one (incl power) to my PD2705Q, from my Mac. Its OK for me now and was not worth the cost of few hundred bucks more.

    How does the 27" 4k work with Mac scaling?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Před 8 měsíci

      We have only done very minor testing but from what we can see, the 4k scaling holds up. The Mac retina screens tend to have a higher PPI (163 roughly on the BenQ and 254 depending on the Mac you have) than these BenQ monitors so it's always best to go and test it out before purchasing. Hope this helps!

      We will only be able to give you some of the basic spec differences as we have not tested out the LG monitor. Some of the differences include color gamut (LG - DCP-P3 95% vs BenQ - sRGB 99%), the LG weighs about 2lbs more with the stand, and the LG has a greater swivel/tilt angle. Without a true test it will be hard to see some of the other working differences. We hope this helps!
