Personally, when you do live podcasts and you've got a following you're opening yourself up to things like this where every word you say is scrutinised. Uploading YT videos is one thing because it can be edited but with live streaming, there are no edits.

The 'internet' would have had far more respect for him if he had stuck to his guns. I liked the apology as it helped me reminisce. I first went to school at 5 and in the class was someone with the surname Tate. Initially called tatey then spud then Mr potato head. It's good to see CZcams creators have the creativity of a 5 year old 60 years ago.

Been subscribed to Geordie since he was on 20k and the weirdest thing for me is the way he's constructed a past and narrative about himself when surely I'm not the only one who remembers what he used to be like?
Firstly, the Nile Ranger video wasn't his first. He had a couple UFC fight reviews and a rant on the England football team before that (all deleted).
Second, he is or at least was married. He used to mention his wide all the time and you could hear her laughing in the background of some (his 100k QnA in particular IIRC, also deleted). So the way he's gone on to speak about women and the fact he's never mentioned her in his mental health videos is really confusing.
Finally he seems to have lost any self awareness. He used to take the piss out of pretenous, crap content and now he's out here making endless "documentaries" on him going to the gym.
It's the most disappointing character arc on CZcams for me.

Yeah, I randomly found his channel around 2013-14 when he was around 10K subscribers. Back when he was in videos for KICKTV. He was very funny and relatable back then.
He’s gradually become a very different person over the last nine years, which is understandable. Time changes people, and success definitely changes people. I never would have thought he’d be where he is now. I’m sad he deleted his old rant videos, though. Those were hilarious.
yea i was surprised to see this in my recommended I first watched him on his connor mcgregor vid. its crazy what happened to him.
First time I watched him (and I myself am a Geordie), he bought himself an expensive car. But for some reason (his massive insecurity), he seemed almost apologetic about it. But he was bouncing back and forth between saying sorry, and then being an arrogant arsehole trying to justify why he deserves an expensive car (I have worked hard, I came from nothing, I have EARNED this! blah blah blah). My ex was watching the video over my shoulder, and she correctly pegged him as insecure, and called his new car a penis extension.
Brian really is a very insecure man deep down. He is willing to throw integrity and morality under the bus in order to create a fake image of himself, as being a confident, high self esteem, couragous guy etc. The problem is, he isn't intelligent enough to be an effective con man, which is why people are turning on him. They can see through him.
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he would be willing to delete videos that might be embarrassing to him. That man's entire life is an embarrassment, and I seriously dislike the fact that he is a Geordie, because he is an embarrassment to us all. Which is why I keep calling him True Mackem (although that is probably too insulting to Mackems).

There seems to be an emerging trend on CZcams and social media in general, where creators constantly have to show or exclaim what great people they are, and how certain other people are "bad" and should be shamed for their opinions. In reality, this obsession to signal their virtue and superior morals only goes to show how toxic and narcissistic these people really are. Brian is a prime example of this, as aptly highlighted by his "apology" video. Lawrence, JaackMaate and Stephen Tries are other examples. Like, who are you to judge others? You'd better be a truly faultless human being before you criticise others. Truly good people don't need to broadcast it or shame others for views, they live and let live and treat everyone with kindness away from the camera.
Other people have brought up W2S as someone who makes offensive jokes. When has Harry ever beefed with anyone or criticised someone else for their opinions or life choices? He's a chill guy who has social anxiety and a very dark sense of humour, but he doesn't have an ego, nor does he preach to others about how they should live their lives. The Sidemen are so successful because they don't get into beefs that much (KSI aside), they seldom mention politics or social issues, they just entertain. Markiplier these days is so chill, does a lot of charity work, doesnt broadcast it that much, doesnt tell others how shitty they are. There's a lot to be said for that approach, instead of believing in your own massively inflated self importance and giant ego.

As someone who doesnt watch any CZcamsrs except TalkingWolves, the whole industry is fascinating to me. I used to watch KSI when he was playing video games in his moms house ten years ago because they were funny, but that is the only individual I ever watched. Its amazing to me how people make a living out of this. Very lucky guys born at the right time.
That vid on 21/1/13 was NOT his fist youtube vid. He was releasing vids for years before that when the name of his channel was 'footballfan553', he changed this to True Gerodie after the Nial Ranger vid. Despite the name, it was mainly a UFC focused channel that made breakdown and prediction vids. He'd also make the odd football vid.
Certainty a big fan of the channel - this might not sound like a compliment but I feel like this content is really simple and you are just an ordinary guy but it’s great content.

I think its sad that after 7+ years of working together it only took 1 hacky joke for Brian & Loz to break up. I guess I can understand why since Loz has a family to prioritise. Brian will bounce back once he settles on a new revolving cast of characters for the kick off. The members of The Club will just pick up where they left off. It's just sad that everyone abandoned ship as soon as the opportunity presented itself.
One of the biggest things you left out was he was married with a kid when he got caught sending those DMs. So whilst it made for a good video reading them all out and laughing at it imagine how it was for his family? The Nile Ranger video wasn't the first True Geordie video, he had videos dating back to 2009. Including one ranting about the England football team at the 2010 World Cup. He also had a whole host of conspiracy theory videos about topics like the moon landing being fake & Princess Diana being murdered etc. He took them all down because they ruffled too many feathers.

To be fair, many apology videos in the past and in the future have been better at inducing cringe than sympathy. When you stream thousands of hours online the odds are against you that you will say something stupid, no matter how careful you are. Used to love his content and watched the TG Podcast from v v early days. Think production-wise there is no one better but honestly, with some of the WWE wrestlers' pods in particular, the lack of research and tone of the interviews were endlessly frustrating. That & ofc the recent controversy have made it even harder to watch him but I do think he'll bounce back
As a big pro wresting fan in his interviews with Undertaker, HBK and Jericho it was so obvious that Brian has maybe watched a couple episodes of Raw like 20 years ago and that's where his knowledge ends. Didn't even seem like he knew Chris Jericho is not in the WWE anymore or that AEW even exists.
It's the same as when Joe Rogan has a musical guest on and clearly has no idea about their music so he derails every convo into some boring shit about Jiu Jitsu that he's already said in fifty other interviews.

im wondering how long it will take people to realise that youtubers/creators etc have different personas for real life and online. Historically this isn't a new concept. You wouldn't be shocked if Eminem didn't act how he does on stage if you met him IRL. The difference is online creators often blur the lines between their real life and online personas because it seems more relatable which is what viewers want. Basically don't believe anyone is a good person because they seem that way on their channel/podcast etc
