- Now that my cheap BMW E46 M3 is in perfect driving condition it was time to start adding mods. First thing on the list was to swap out the stock, raspy (and somewhat silent) exhaust for a more desirable one. After weeks of research, I narrowed down my exhaust option to one made by Rogue Engineering. It was hard to get my hands on one, but when I finally did, it was so worth it!

Just remember the harbor freight jack stands are having a recall because they fail under pressure. I did not know if you were aware of that but we don't want to see you dead.
Actually returned mine the same day I made this video.
I'm having a difficult time understanding this post... 1. You're not using jack stands in this video.. youre using ramps.. 2. Why did you return them if there have been no issues put out about the pittsburg ramps?
Just get Husky from home depot, they are lifetime warranty.
supersoni126 you’re right, the recall is only for the jack stands and it’s a particular batch. I had a set that were included in the batch range. Ramps are fine, guess he wanted that $30 back haha
@supersoni126 Before buying the ramps I was in possession of the jack stands that were recalled. The same day I filmed the video I returned the jack stands and purchased the Pittsburgh ramps.

My e46 m3 has the Diablo exhaust, all the so cal peeps ask what my set up was given it makes it sound way more beefy. Didnt know it was that rare of a exhaust now, thanks for doing the m3 justice with this set up 💯
Deep over raspy is this viewer's preference. Glad you can still hear the lovely intake sound. On a separate note, please consider turning your dash lights on when filming exhaust and intake sound so viewers can see the RPMs on the tach. Thanks Christian.

This is wild! Had one 15 years ago can’t believe they still make this exhaust by far the best on this car! I had the Diablo R or whatever it was had larger diameter piping but look the same. Even back then these were really hard to get your hands on.
Bro good idea to have the shop do the headers. I did the headers on mine a few years ago and man it was easily one of the most annoying things I’ve ever done in my life, definitely worth the money to have the pros do it

It is rly a good mix between the motor sound and the exhaust sound but not over all to loud! Top!
Sounds awesome! I would look into an AR20 mid-muffler if you want to remove some of the rasp but still give hints of it at higher rpms! Give it a much deeper tone up to 4K. Some people run 2 in parallel, but that completely eliminates the rasp, one is what I believe is the best option imo!

They don't really spin tire in third. It's just because the SMG has really bad clutch control.

DIY guys right here I installed my axle backs on my 2012 mustang in my parents drive way I used the same things used ramps and wheel chucks did it myself luckily my exhaust wasn’t heavy it was 2 different pieces it was a pain though

Clean car, and awesome choice for section 3. Definitely get a rasp eliminator pipe or install a set of AERO resonators in section 1 after you install the AA headers!
I have the same exhaust but also have the re rasp pipe and x pipe w/ aa headers. Love the guys at psi they installed my supercharger.

Those ramps remind me of the rhino ramps they sell. Good to see that the installation went well for you. I'm currently finishing up putting my valve body back on. The only problem I'm having is the wiring harness plug fighting the mechatronic sealing sleeve. Other than that, it's been relatively simple thanks to Shoplifetv.

Nice exhaust. I went with the Eisenmann Sport Exhaust with LaMans Cut 83mm Tips - E46 M3. This was 19 years ago. Exhaust is still amazing to this day. Pricey though. Back then I paid like $1.3k today they sell for $2.6k

Cant wait for the headers. This muffler is big upgrade but it is still not good enough mainly because of stock headers.
Also CSL intake would be sweet combination with these mods.

I haven't always agreed with your E46 M3 content, like the manual conversion that simply didn't pass the financial sniff test. That being said, what I appreciate the most about your videos is your great attention to detail in performing the mods. And this one is killer. Damn, for the first time I truly have exhaust envy, both in the sound and the look (those tips are awesome!) and will avoid walking around the rear of mine and its pathetic stock setup for at least a week because of you. Thanks a lot haha!

Nice exhaust man. I just got a 4.10 differential for my e46 M3. It's in the shop being swapped along with subframe re-inforcement. I can hardly wait!
pairing it with a manual or smg transmission? I have the gears already but nervous about installing because with a manual gearbox might be a lot of shifting
Brandon Mendonsa Manual 6spd. I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger. Lower top speed and shorter 1st but power comes on earlier.

Revisiting this video after 2 years. Ive had my exhaust on and off a few times now for different jobs.
You gotta wonder who at BMW decided to make an exhaust out of granite. It's unbelievably heavy! My rear and middle are welded together too making it very hard to handle.
Still, only ever had my own help, working on the floor in my garage. Usually end up with hideous bruises on my back after a day working on it.
Agency power headers with 2 ar20s in section one and the diablo muffler is the best combo for the e46 m3 the sounds is actually good but so is the full catless status gruppe exhaust

You should try straight pipe down to the rear with that same diablo muffler. That will give you a much better sound

You might have been better off with blue nylon nuts as they are heat resistant up to 300 degrees celsius. I used to use them for fitting sills on factory oven doors.

My gruppe m exhaust was the only one that sounded good with no rasp. The titanium was why it was so expensive sounded so good,lightweight and why it broke.
Definitely better than stock but still not a fan although vid probably doesn't do it justice. I'm glad you're happy!

How did you get yours to fit so flush? I recently installed this on my E46, but the tips stick out a lot more. Stock bumper and diffuser.
