I live in south Louisiana and it is nothing if not hot and humid. My potted ones did great until the temps really got high in June. They wilt to nothing in the sun and really don't recover until early the next morning. Fert is fine. Water is fine. They are absolutely not drying out. I've moved them to shadier areas, even complete shade. Still the same problem. When the 95 degree heat hits, they just wither.

Hi Jeff 👋 my Sunpatiens are potted surrounded by concrete (6 car) I am zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast, so it has gotten extremely hot and humid already. They have wilted a couple of times around 5 pm-ish. As soon as I water them ,poof they look great! Mine are the compact. Thank you for all the great info. You take care of yourself. I hope things are going better with fam. 🙏

My experience here in Florida is sunimpatiens need lots of water & no more than half day sun to survive summer. Jeff your advice & thoughts are all goods possibilities. I planted regular impatiens in full shade. They have done well for 2 months now looking leggy and no flowers guess I need to trim back some and hit them with some liquid fertilizer. Glad you got the palms in look forward to see how you will plant them up

Amen! I have no luck with them either! I live in zone 12A. Even moved indoors, I still lost them.😢

Hi where is zone 12A? Total tropical location? I am zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast so I am subtropical I guess. Sunpatiens are doing good here in pot on a massive piece of concrete on East Southeast side. Thank you, just curious.

Sunpatiens just can't handle hot and dry, that is why they burn out here come May. You can water them in the morning and again in the afternoon and they still just fizzle. I have a single one still out there and it is only surviving because it is partially shaded most of the day. They look amazing during our cooler months, even though it is drier, they don't get that wilt from the heat. I've not found weak root systems to be the problem, I have a hell of a time pulling them, the stems have usually touched the ground and started secondary root systems. IMO, they are going to do best where they get a little shade during the middle of the day.

I'm having a problem with my compact electric orange Sunpatiens this year. I have 4 plants in 4 large pots -- all with identical conditions. Two have been flowering normally since I planted them in April, but the other two stopped flowering a month ago and they started growing smaller, distorted leaves at the branch tips (instead of flowers). It reminds me of leafy gall in Dahlias, but I can't find any information online about that condition in Sunpatiens.

I'm in Hawaii zone 11a. Sunpatiens that I buy at the nursery thrive. Sunpatiens from Home Depot die a slow death no matter what you do.

I just got some and was scared to transplant too early so they’re still in hangers n they’re wilting every other day! I’m thinkin right now in NW Fl it’s so dry (usually humid af) n I’ve given plants root rot before so I’m tryin to jus water morning so probably need to water twice🤦‍♀️ im bout to jus go fake I’m tired of these plants dying…feelin lika a mass murderer over here
