    Great update! Curious if the KS 12, and the Komrad platforms are the same, ie, are the barrels interchangeable?

      It's a little hard to tell since indoor ranges are really loud anyways, but it did make the gun a lot more quiet.

    Can you compare this to the Fostech Origin? Mainly as regards recoil, reliability, etc.

    Beautiful shotgun... does the suppressor help cycling or hurt? To me I would think it would help, maybe even enough to shoot lighter loads. Can you tell a difference with it and without?

      I think you are right, the suppressor definitely helps. We didn't test it again with lighter loads so I'm not sure if it will cycle them better but I can't imagine it would be any worse.

    can you still use that optic adapter if you have a mag thumb release lever installed.

    Awesome vid and set up but what's the point of a suppressor if you still have to wear ear muffs?

      Hearing protection is required at all times in the range. This gun might be hearing safe, but in an indoor range it's still pretty loud so it's better to be safe than sorry.

    What salvo adapter do you need for the Komrad?

    What would you say the recoil reduction was while adding the suppressor? I'm thinking of getting one for my Komrad.

      It helped quite a bit with recoil.

      Next question... How does it attach to the firearm, does it require a special adapter, or does it come with all necessary components?

      @@rogergillette5919 You have to buy a Silencerco choke tube that allows it to screw on. You buy the Saiga 12 model.

    Hey I just purchased one and was curious what shells run the best and how to adjust the gas system to that.

      The military grade buckshot runs really good for us, or most kinds of buckshot. As recommended by the manufacturer, you should always try running a new load on the high setting first and if it doesn't cycle reliably then switch it to the low setting.

    what choke adapter did you have to use with the salvo? did you have to thread or machine the barrel to make this work or just the choke and the salvo and screw them on?

      It's the Saiga 12 choke adapter. Just screws right in, no modification required.

    I recently bought a ks12. I am worried about the longevity of the trunnion and bolt due to them being cast rather than forged like the real Saiga.

      Bolt and trunion are forged. Bolt carrier is cast just like the saiga and lynx 12. I would say Lynx 12 is a great alternative being that it is built at the factory that made type 56 AKs for decades. They know how to build Kalashnikovs

    If you still have to wear ear Pro then what's the point of the heavy silencer?

      Because that gun is insanely loud without it and we are in an indoor range. It's hard to tell from the video but the suppressor actually helps out a lot.

      I don't think it can be swapped unfortunately.

      That would require a modified receiver, and a modified Bolt Carrier Group as the handle and bolt carrier are one piece.

      The Silencerco Salvo 12 is the only 12 gauge suppressor that I know of.

      It might have twisted a little bit. If you don't crank it down really tight it had a tendency to loosen up a little bit and turn.

      No, this one is classified as a firearm and ships from the factory with the vertical grip. The rules are different for a smooth bore.

      @@impactguns my understanding is it's an other not a pistol because of the vertical grip. What the previous post asks is since you removed the vertical grip you now have a pistol which would change the rules in some jurisdictions.

      @@slegos888 No, a pistol has a rifled barrel. This gun is a smooth bore so it should still be classified as a firearm not a pistol.

      I believe the correct term for one after removal is AOW and as such is a NFA item now... you may want to get that checked out so you aren't a felon now...

      Originally, but then they released a follow up letter saying that shouldering a pistol brace doesn't change it's classification and isn't necessarily illegal.
