I like Semi Auto shotguns but I don't like the AR or AK ones. They seem more of a gimmick than something you want to trust your life with or even hunt with.

Correct. If there was anything I could place in the realm of “trust my life with” it would also have to fit the category of “battle proven”. There is only 1 semi-auto that comes to mind and that’s the Benelli M4. It’s got a reputation of reliability and has proven itself to be plenty capable. The one downside is cost. And that’s a huge downside. Nonetheless, a phenomenal shotgun!
