Many Volvo designs are classic from factory. Brand new, it's already outdated, but with style. It is built out of trend so it never have a way to fall into the pit of oblivion.
There are few cars that can pretend to succeed in that kind of aesthetic path, best example being Rolls-Royce.

I’m glad someone is finally trying to restore a 740. For a while it seems everyone was just beating and drifting them. When I was little my uncle was moving halfway across the world and gave me his 86’ 740 Turbo wagon, but the parents got rid of due to age and how worn out it was. It’s rare in the Midwest, especially now. Luckily a few years later another relative gave me their 95’ 850 Turbo sedan, which I still have today. I say, the hubcaps, better yet, factory alloy wheels from a GLE or Turbo.

Years ago, I bought a used 94 Volvo 740 turbo 4 cyl. I drove it for about 4 years as a commuter, 112 miles a day on Los Angeles freeways. I got about 22 mpg on average, would put about 30K miles per year. I loved the ease of maintenance on this car like changing bulbs, belts, and routine stuff. The seats were probably the most comfortable of any car I ever owned. The only negative about the car was the interior plastic would crack easy such as the door side pockets. The day I test drove the car, I thought it was a 6 cyl. For a 4 cyl, it really had a lot of power and it had a very quiet hum and did not have the usual 4 cyl whine high pitched the squirrels in the engine are struggling to get up to speed. This car’s turbo was really a turbo. The alignment was always true. The power mirrors, windows, and sun roof never had issues for being an older car. I drove it from 2008-2012. I sold it with 270,000 miles for $500. To this day, the guy who bought it still drives it as a back up car.

I love this car. I use to have one. You are fortunate. Great job too.

Riktigt roligt att se ditt jobb med denna klassiker :) Ser ut som en välhållen 740.
// Very funny to see your amazing work with this classical Volvo. Looks like a well taken cared of Volvo 740.

Very well done! The car has my favorite colour for a Volvo! I like Hydras very much. The came with the 940 but look even great on the 740! Good luck with the car!

The Hydra alloy wheels were in fact designed for the 700-series, as well. The refreshed 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo (the very last model year of the 740 Turbo) was fitted with 16-inch Hydra alloys as standard equipment, at least on the Swedish market.

I just got my red 940 polished and ceramic coated by a pro and looks gorgoeus. Ok, 90% gorgeus, I have to replace a cracked bumper and re-paint the bumper trims + glue the prancing moose emblems on :D

Red cars are so nice to polish!
Yes, same for me not 100 % it's an old car so you have to be realistic after all. Thanks for commenting 😊

Love these cars, this is the best looking one. Love this nose with the old style headlights.

I had a 1989 maroon sedan with a b230f m90, aircon (manual), sunroof and cruise. This was years ago, sadly these cars are getting rarer and expensive here in NL.

I like it with out the hubcaps, but I love the classic hubcap look too! I'd say for winter run it with out them, then come spring put them on. That way you get both looks out of it and keep the salt and snow off the classic caps.

I'd go no hubcaps. Those new steelies look clean and i think it fits the look of the car.

Very nice and well spoken. I like watching your details
Over here in Ireland all you get is a car wash that involves a sponge and power washer
I ask once at a car wash place if they could cut and polish using a power polish and they didn't know what l meant. Same goes when l wanted the seats washed and all done using cloth and no vacuum pick up.

Too bad they don't take it seriously over there :/
I am, however, noticing a general trend towards increasing awareness of automotive detailing. So hopefully it will get better. 👍
