I come here every summer to reassure myself my dearest Lorelei isn't dying. I previously only owned budgies, lineolated parakeets and lovebirds that moult bit by bit throughout the year, so Lorelei's first moult freaked me out. Rushed him to the vet and got laughed at đ đ

I saw many feathers in my parrot's cage today n got scared as it has never happened before. But thanks to your video i knw now that it's normal. Also mine is a female indian ringneck but her beak has gone whitish, what can i give her?? I have been giving her carrots, spinach, corn, seasonal fruits etc. What more to give so tht her beak gets red again. And also she loses a considerable amount of white tiny feathers all the time, why is that so can anyone help me on that as well??

My parrot is completing 1 year it's plucking feathers 2months finished is it common or give any treatment and all who comment can U all share the pics or gone under same and parrots regrowth of feather even the tail also not there

Molting is a natural process. Every birds go through this process. Within 3- 4 months they will be more beautiful and active like before. But provide them a good diet.

Hey! I just want to ask that my parrot is having white scars(not the typical one) like your parrot has around its eyes so is it normal?
Yes it is normal... This occurs when they are in molting. These type of feathers are called ring feathers.

Yes it will take some time ..is depending on the bird ..most of my birds loose the feather but they are coming back again

DEPENDS WHERE YOU LIVE...He is northern hemisphere so i add 6 months to june and my boy is in his big molt in december...I'm southern hemisphere...you may be closer to equator.

Yes this is molting time and molting is safe but u need to care your Parrot. In molting you can see ring type small feathers in their head and body.... But plucking is something else.

Yes it is ok...You can give neem bath but not everyday. Once in a week. Before giving bath clean the neam leaves properly and take care of eyes and mouth while giving bath.

Sir my parrot is having very dusty problem and she is becoming very thin
May be due to inappropriate diet she became thin. Always give fresh fruits and vegetables in her diet, keep your Parrot in a good environment. Due to lack of Vitamins also some parrots become thin.

Almost it can be recovered.. Give natural and sufficient food, give every day 1 or 2 almonds if possible, don't keep in cage all the time, spend quality time with your Parrot.

1. Molting generally takes place when parrot has completed 1 year.
2. Give your parrot healthy diet like fruits and vegetables. Internally you have to take care then externally your parrot will look healthy. Give proper bath, sometimes add turmeric in water while bathing.

My parrot has shed...too much ..is it a problem..I can see it's skin...in this video I see not much...please help...
They will shed a lot of feathers and they might get bold spots, to make sure is not a self plucking problem check its head, if it has bold spots and pin feathers there than is molting, because they can't self pluck the feathers from their heads.

He still haven't finished molting so I'm hoping it'll end soon.
No issue it is normal. It takes some time to recover. My parrot is 17 and showing the symptoms of molting.

Oh..but during this process take proper care and give healthy diet. Give your parrot enough time so that he/she can take complete rest.
