@@angelslife416 Oh that’s such great news. Hopefully Angel won’t need the medication any longer. It is scary when they bleed, especially the small birds. I only file Ricco’s nails, but I’ve been doing it for many years. I prefer not to cut them myself because of what could happen, always better to be safe. Have a good night 😴

Rikka is always terrified of new toys, and won’t go near the others if its close to them, so every time I get him a new toy I leave it sitting somewhere for a few days where he can see it. Not all birds are as bad as mine is about it, but it helps if that happens to be the case
Aww thank you ❤️. I agree, most birds are afraid of unfamiliar objects or toys. Ricco is afraid as well of some things, I do the same thing and allow him to slowly get used to it. Thank you for the great tip for the toys, I’m sure this will help others 😊

I love this! However, you're doing far better than I am in the toy part because I can't find toys here, so I compensate by making them a stand they can destroy and sit on. They mostly are outside of the cage except for when they go inside by themselves!
You love your birds just as much as I love Ricco. A toy doesn’t need to cost you anything, as long as you are providing them with something to chew on and play with that’s good enough. I’ve spent so much on toys that Ricco doesn’t play with, but instead he’ll find other things around the home lol. As long as it’s bird safe, that’s good enough 😊❤️

When I first introduced foraging to Ricco he couldn’t figure it out lol. So I had to show him where the treats were and hide it, eventually he figured it out 😁.

Well I don’t know what about letting my bird flying around the places because a lot of the places like he might go on top of the lamb so I don’t want anything to happen and thank you so much for making us so learn any new things
You can try putting your bird in a room that is safe for him. They need time out of cage to stretch and get exercise otherwise they can get bored.

Putting that bird near a plug socket he could turn and pick in it, I've always said it's scary to cover a bird at night as it could scare them in morning as they will not know what time they will be uncovered everyday and maybe frightened each day
I’ve covered all my birds for their entire lives and never had an issue with it, in fact most bird owners do. As far as the plug goes Ricco never bites any cord or any cloth for that matter, you need to go according to your bird and how they are as stated in my video.

In UK we have pets at home & the Range store.which can be very expensive plus limited choices.Then online seem the stores with most varied choices are online from America etc..I do use online mainly.however America does seem to have the biggest & best stores for suitability, choice & cost..that's for sure..😎💕👌

I’ve had my bird for almost a week and have been told not to leave the cage open until she’s completely settled but she’s still getting used to me and won’t take food from my hand yet
Is she full flighted? If so and you are planning on letting her out of the cage soon, be sure to do it in a safe room with windows and mirrors covered as they will fly into them when startled.. Try to look around and make sure that their is nothing in the room that she could injure herself on. She will take time getting used to your hand, just continue doing what you are doing.
When should i give him a bath, once in a week? Alternative days? Weekends?
It’s really up to the bird, just don’t force your bird. Also try to give your bird a bath during the day and not at nighttime. If your bird is molting a bath will be good for him more frequently, otherwise you can give it to him every other day or when he seems like he would like one. Hope that helps.

How long do you normally let ricci out of the cage I was wondering because in going to get a ringneck as my first parrot
Ricco is pretty much out all day except when he goes to bed, but that’s because someone is always home. If you’ve never owned parrots before I’d highly recommend doing lots of research on ringneck parrots if you haven’t yet. I do have a video in my playlist about the reality of owning a ringneck parrot VS expectations and pros and cons, hopefully they can help you out.

Thank you. It takes time for a bird to trust a human and build a bond. When is he screaming? Is it when you go near him or try to pick him up? Birds usually scream for a reason so try to understand why he’s doing it and stop so it doesn’t get worse. Use treats and foods to gain his trust and work at his pace, hopefully in time he will learn to trust you.
What, how do you keep Rico still when recording. My bird can’t sit straight for even 2 secs

Are griled vegtables safe for parrots 🤔
Would that be on the barbecue or fried? Is so they are not, it’s best to feed them fresh vegetables or litely steamed. Hope that helps 😊

Is your parrot a ringneck parrot? Birds in general should have a variety of healthy foods and carrots are really good for birds.
My new rescue irn paprika doesn't have a cage, is that OK? She likes to sleep in my room by the window.
Should I get her a cage to make it her home?
I always recommend a cage, even if it’s just for nighttime. It’s a good idea to get them used to one incase of emergencies or you need to leave them alone sometimes. Especially if she is full flighted, she could hurt herself.

I don’t ever give dry fruits to Ricco, only because of the preservatives in it. Are they made for birds or humans? If anything read the label to make sure what is in it incase it is not safe for your bird. Hope that helps 😊

You would need to check in pet stores or online, it depends where you live. You can also make safe fun chew toys, as long as what you are using is safe without ink or chemicals. Everything I mentioned in this video is very important to keep your bird happy and healthy including toys. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on toys, but safe chew toys are a must as they love to chew and get bored. It’s always best to introduce anything as early as possible to your bird, that way they get familiar with things including toys. Just be sure to do it slowly and under supervision as your bird is a baby.
