Idk y but every Thursday I wake up feeling good inside!
IDK about some of you guys but the hole that was their ears....after giving my parakeet a shower i found a hole in the side of her head and knew that our conure and had picked on her a few times and I was soooooo worried and I called my mom and said I need to go to the vet as my baby had a hole in her head....imagine my suprise when I learned was only their ear. Good news my parakeet is totally fine, me not so much.
Hurting glihl
The foraging part was hilarious 😂
it's like a baby who likes to watch their mama pick up things for them :'-)
I originally read Carrot Pear Basics and now I can't read it any other way. Anyway, great video. what a bunch of lovelies!
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to train a parrot try Parrot Ploy Plan ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.
There are a few components to parrot training. One place I discovered which successfully combines these is the Parrot ploy plan (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the no.1 resource that I've seen.Check out the great info .
I'm researching house training a parrot and found a fantastic resource at Parrot ploy plan (google it if you are interested)
hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for how do you train a parrot to talk try Tarbally Parrot Lessons Tactics (just google it ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my m8 got cool results with it.
Yes Carrot Pear!! That makes me so happy
I love your channel and what you stand for you inspired me to study biology and keep inspiring me one video at a time
Love all the way from Dubai 💜
Thank you for the tip on wrapping treats in paper! I have started that immediately with banana. My tip is for others is to remove the bird’s food bowl and hide his large pellets around the cage, among the corners of the bars, in the hanging toys etc. It gets the bird to pay attention to his environment and encourages him to stretch, climb, reach and hang upside down. It makes him feel like he is self-sufficient for food too. My bird was weak, stiff and aggressive when I got him, but he is strong, supple and confident now.
It's important to take your bird to a vet that specializes in birds and exotic animals. Most general vets don't care for exotic animals and they wouldn't know a whole lot about bird care because they aren't trained in exotic animal care.
As an avicultirist specializing in Psittacine species, I just want to say how awesome you guys are. Everything was spot on!
As a soon-to-be Parrot owner, I can't thank you enough for this video.
Steve the cockatiel is my FAVORITE 🕊🖤 he reminds me of my Pikachu so much. Very similar personality along w looks. So cute 🌼
Thank you Jessie for this amazing video. I enjoyed every part of it. I got to see some of the birds that I haven't seen for a long time. I learnt so many new things that I know help me in the long run when I get a parrot. Can't wait to go on another fun adventure with you💕
I can’t get over some of the birds’ names...i mean, Sprinkles, STEVE? Amazing.
for conures it’s good to check their preening feather. (a thin light grey feather above their tail) it needs to look clean and smooth, if not then your parrot is having serious preening problems. they shouldn’t look messy or too dry. they shouldn’t look too oily and dark either. you’ll want it to be bright straight and clean
We have peafowl. Specifically, we have three young peacocks and one young peahen, who keeps the boys in line. While they are, obviously, not parrots, this advice applies well to them, too. TOTALLY UNIVERSAL GOOD BIRD COMPANION ADVICE FOR THE WIN!

Great video. You answered one question I was wondering about, but informed me about a few others. Thanks.
This is incredible! I learned so much and only wish I had found you earlier. You answered questions I have not been able to find the answers to-until now. I absolutely love this video and will watch it again and take notes. Thank you!!!
I love parrots. Right now I have my first parrot (a cockatiel) but I plan to get more in the future
Thank you very much. You cover quite a bit of critical territory and it’s very informative. And no tricks. Great job!
Watching this makes me miss my sweet budgie Freddy who passed away a few years ago. He would absolutely go WILD for a spray bottle bath! He would dance around with joy every time i brought the spray bottle in! 😂 What great memories 😊 love your channel!!!
Such beautiful animals
I like birb
Oh my god they are all SO CUTE, I'm so glad they're in a good place that takes care of them properly ;v;
I kinda love that I Googled parrots for my daughter, clicked a promising result, and found Jessi outside of the SciShow fort. 🥰
jessi, you are so inspiring and i adore you and what you do! ive struggled with depression for years now and wanted to get a parrot (leaning toward budgies) but with my disability i know i wont be able to maintain their needs consistently. even so, watching you handle your animals with your impressive expertise tempered by your upbeat personality really gives me simple joy and makes me feel like one day ill learn to deal with my problems so i can give a parrot of my own a happy home. i hope youre doing as well behind the scenes as your animals are.
I have a tip I got from someone else, I own 2 cockatiels and I learned that cucumbers are a good way to smoothen out the molting process if it is a hard and difficult one, thanks to cucumber they are less moody or aggressive when I touch a blood feather :)
Super excellent as always. A very reliable source of critical information. Thank you very much!

Way before I got my first bird, the first time I learned what a kiel was from the movie (and book series but mostly referring to the movie adaptation since I remember the movie more than the books) “Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’hool” and as a kid I didn’t think much of it but now knowing it’s part of the chest makes more sense now-
We had a green cheek conure that was sick and was making a repeatable chirp noise that was strange. We took him to the vet to find out he was really sick. We had to force him, lovingly of course, to drink water and food to nurse him back to health and we succeeded. Just be prepared!
Thanks for this video .
Wow!!! It's amazing to know about parrots and I really wanted to take a education or information about parrots and u have informed me through this video .
It's cool !!!
Pls can u get more videos about parrots .
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! It's so well structured and informative!!!
We do nail trimming at home. Our Cherry Headed Conure is well practiced in lying on his back. We then towel him, I use a small flashlight so I can ID his Nail Quick since he has black nails & then use either a Dremel or small nail file to smooth the edges so he doesn't tear his nails. Most importantly I always have a Q-tip & anticoagulant (blood stopping) powder at the ready. Tashi let's us know when he's had enough & I split the trim into 2 days. An important clue for me is when his feet become hot, thus indicating he's stressed. It is a 2 person job, but he tolerates it well. We try to make it fun for him. We usually sneak in a wing triim followed by a shower in the sink which he enjoys immensely. Tashi is also captivated by watching Animal Wonders, however he is highly empathetic & becomes very upset if he hears another animal crying.❤ from Tashi in Chicago!
Thank you so much for this video I love it and it tells me I am doing a great job with my conure :)
Thankyou for all the information.
Wonderful video and such great advice. One thing that I will mention is that alot of bird owners think that cuttlebone is for beak trimming when in reality it's too soft and it's for calcium.
Hi love of pets
Hi I just got 2 parrots today I will really need your help to care for them
You brought out a happy time thank u!
Excellent tutorial! Thanks!!
Heya! Love your channel, it really helped me a lot getting closer to my adopted little Peet. I do however wonder if also the egg mix should only be given at certain moment of the day? Because now it seems that Peet just gorges himself on that stuff... Thanks!
My dad is going to give me a parrot and I’m not ready so I searched this video out, It really helped me out. Thank you 🙏
how’s the parrot been doing?
Thank you so much I love your videos on birds! Please do make more
Dear Animal Wonder,
I'm going get a parrot when I move out and I think this video will be useful.
Thank you ❤️☺️💖
i just ordered some pellets expeccially for cockatiels and they arrive in 3 days, I have been feeding them chop, chicken pellets and a tiny bit of seed but now i can feed them proper pellets with chop
You guys do a wonderful job!
Hey Jessi, great video and always a pleasure to see your birds! Do you sprout or soak any seeds/legumes for your birds? My flock love them and its fun watching them grow! :)
We do! It's become a more regular practice now than it was a few years ago.
AnimalWonders Montana awesome! They are a bit fiddly to do (and impossible in the heatwave we are having in the UK at the moment!) but so worth it for the nutritional value! 😊
I too sprout seeds for my bird, but I was wondering why are they healthier? Is it because the seeds use the fat to start growing?
Breyanna Gobind yes that’s right, the fat stores get used up and starch is broken down so the percentage of nutrients is higher! 😊
BirdNerdSophie great! How often do you give your birds sprouts?
Thank you!
keep up the great work. Loved this video. Thank you.
Not being dramatic but I would die for any of the birds in the video! They are all so freaking cute
Thank you so much 💖
Thank you so much
Thank you
Parrots are awesome wish I could give my time to more than just one! My baby green cheek mia take up all my time snuggling
I love your birds !!
One of parrot's favourite activities is to throw stuff on the floor and watch us pick it back up for them :P
Thank you for the video! I’m preparing to get a parrot myself and that was so informative :) So the only question I’ve got is about nail trimming. What if I can’t trim it myself and the avian vet is unavailable in my town? Is it possible to use a perch that can help parrots trim their nails by themselves? I know that works with parrotfinches but I’m not quite sure about parrots
Hi Jessi! I was wondering what your thoughts were on pedi perches? Like, the perches that have sand paper texture
A blue parrot landed on my balcony the other day when I was watering my hibiscus. I tried to give him a date to eat, but he wasn't down. I was like whatever dude, your loss.
Im getting a green cheek conure next week im sooooo excited :)
I love my little green cheek. They can be a little nippy when their young. Make sure he has his alot of wooden toys he can chew on. When he's nippy give him a stick. He will soon learn to satisfy his need to chew appropriately
Thank you❤️
Do you ever adopt out your birds? Just curious. I like TOPS pellets. My cockatiel likes broccoli but not much else. He is 9 months old and it took me 2 to 3 months to get him to even eat pellets by crushing and placing over seed with dried fruit and Vege mix. Now he eats only pellets for his first meal yeah!
Thanks girl.. Great content.
Channels amazing.
Love from Canada 🇨🇦
I love parrots
Thanks, this was great :)
25:38 : "I don't feel at home in this world anymore."
Parrots and Jessi? LIKE! now... to watch it as well. xD
7:30 (the kitchen scene) How long does it take a potted parrot to grow up? lol.
14:00 ish. lmao, i think Joy is teaching you to play "fetch" xD

I love the video and all but as a parrot parent myself i need to ask, What are those bowls? Are they *toss* safe?
wow your very brave ! im very scraed of macaws because of their beaks haha, thanks alot ! Your doing a great job taking care of these parrots :)
i love your content!
Yay, birds!
What a great video!
Joy is looking so much better
Hey, what avianvet do you visit? I live in Missoula and I can’t find an avian vet!
I noticed you used millet to treat a cockatiel......
It's so rare to find someone that doesn't offer them sunflower seeds...
I only know one vet that's seen so many overweight cockatiels in 40yrs.. he knows its too fatty for them.
WELL DONE! I'd like to know who taught you this.
Thank you for this I was crying losing my mind thinking my macaw was pluck come to find out it’s normal I felt so much better after thank ABBA YAH
Hi loved your video u have given so much information thank you 🙏, I just bought a blue fronted Amazon the seller didn't provide me with any paperwork nor a band on him so I dont know his age, he said the bird is 15 weeks old🤷♀️ I have made an appointment to see my avian who treats my Congo African grey in two days time, I have noticed that the Amazon's under talons is yellow is this ok or do I have to get worried about it, please reply 🙏
I’m pretty sure that’s normal for horn (creamy) nailed birds
I have a parrot plush that looks exactly like joy-
like the same coloring-
o-o
Yay!
What are those wooden bird perched hanging from the ceiling I need to lnow
How much pellets should I give a Pearly conure?
Thanks for the information I’m researching before I become a parrot mom 🐦
Could anyone please tell where will I get a gram scale with Perch in Amazon!
That is a great video!
Danke, beste Grüsse
Rolf 👍
can you do a vid on blood feathers
Hi, if you wanted to know, I have three parakeets one frog one turtle and one dog just so you know what pets I have
What tipe of bird is sprincals
Wondering if you get a young hand fed Parrotlet that still need to be hand fed how do you follow your advice about ignoring them for the first few days.
I want a parrot so bad.
I would be happy if I had a parrot
Please make a separate video detailing all bare spots in macaws body
Does their diet affect the color of their feces at all? I noticed if he eats something of a more red color (my 10 month old caique), his feces is sometimes that color. Otherwise, his feces is normal color.
Yes definitely, especially colorful fruits and veggies.

Hi, this video was so informative. I work from home and have so much time to spend with a pet, most of my pets are nocturnal so in the day I want a pet I can spent time with whilst I work and also after work too. I had a dog for 14 Years who passed away recently and I am lonely in the day without him, he was a family member not just a dog.
I want to give another animal an awesome life the same way I did to my dog and become friends with them. What parrot would you suggest that is quiet and not too big but also likes attention and sitting on my shoulder / hand.
It doesn't have to be able to speak and the quieter the better lol but I of course expect the bird to make noises sometimes.
Thank you to anyone who can advise me on this process. I am not in a rush because I want to make the right decision since it is a lifetime choice. Also, I want a bird I can take outside with me.
@@tarkelson2457 Cockatiels are not quiet!!!
Get a Budgie!
Good singers, great personalities, tiny size, less complex care, reasonably quiet, very friendly, can be harness trained and last but not least, a Budgie holds the record for the bird with the largest vocabulary ever!
I have 6 budgies and a cockatiel soo…
Thank you! Im curious about something i most possibly may be blowing way out of proportion to current relevance, so much so i cannot recall the degree of detaill, however ill throw it out there anyway. In respect to food recomendations, the name brand Zupreem had a recall i think in 2017-2018, in i believe the parakeet, canary zone, because of this i allow the bag of Zupreem bird food collect dust in my pantry. Its also got what appears to be brightly colored pieces throughout the bag, I've asked Petland staff about this stuff
and no one knows. Its really neither here nor there, i just want to know about the mystery brand i am hesitant about for my birds. So any possible feedback i would be interested and grateful. Thanks again, that is all.... for this minute...
what happened if the bird is blind what do I need to do
Hi Jessie!! I was wondering if quaker parrots can live with parakeets. And can conures live with parakeets? Thanks Jessie!😁
Yes conures can live with parakeets, but I've noticed conures can be quite nippy/bites so constant monitoring is required.
