@@profinneupane6883Islam isn’t going to wait for 6-7 title defenses at lightweight lol, especially after Dana White said last year he’d like to see Islam defend the lightweight belt 2-3 more times before getting a potential double champ title fight at welterweight. I think Islam wins that and stays at welterweight, only then vacating the lightweight belt. I doubt he’d try and defend both like Volk wanted to do, it’s just too hard imo.

Im ready, Gaethje deserves it in my opinion, never had a dull fight, never lost to anyone that wasn't a champion, or #1 contender at the time. Has beaten many people who are top 10. Honestly hes been my favorite fighter for awhile and I would love to see him with the belt one more time before he retires. Always shows respect to fighters hes had several opportunities where he could have gone to the ground and won. Instead he lets them get back up and keep fighting even though they wouldn't do the same for him. Multiple times He gets rocked but doesn't quit just to come back to win. The fighter with the most heart and respect. Also if anyone was to beat Islam how fitting it would be for the BMF to do it.
To top it all off he does it all clean.

Last time Islam fought three times was in 2021 and he fought in March, July, and October. He clearly wanted to do the same thing this year especially since UFC 299 was one day before Ramadan it would have worked out perfectly but the UFC decided to boost O’Malley.

@@arthurmorgan4720 Charles's injury was a cut above his eye (there was even pictures), that does not prevent a person from horse racing, with Islam no one specified what sort of injury it was, so either Dana lied or Islam lies to Dana or maybe Islam's injury is something that does not prevent him from moving and some basic training.
Islam has always said he is ready to go against anyone if UFC really wants it. I believe he could fight before Ramadan in 299 but apparently UFC didn’t want it/make a contract.

Finding it 'annoying' when it's literally just one month and fighters typically fight 3 times a year, so this should easily be accommodated, and insinuating the Muslim fighters aren't up to being champs while other champs take huge layoffs for literally no reason at all is thinly veiled islamophobia. Charles an Justin had a initial competitive stand up. But Charles started to overwhelm him.
You then flash forward and see Islam stand with Charles in that title fight. . Islam didn't immediately initiate any wrestling. That was all stand up. Islam beat Charles ass.

UFC booking Charles vs Arman as #1 contender was fair.
Considering Charles fight resume , he was and is the best representative you have at 155 , so he deserves another bite at that apple.

Max is a legend, all time great, but anyone who thinks. He has a real chance against justin at 155 is outta their mind. Id go as far to say u make that 5 rounds, id almost gaurentee gaethje handidly becomes the first to ko/tko maxs legebdary chin. Max doesnt have the power at 155 to be a serious enough threat. We saw the massive power discrepency against dustin. Gaethje chops those legs 3-4 times max is gonna be so compramised hes not gonna be able to generate any power, which hes already lacking, and justin can literally walk max down. Theres nothing significant enough coming back at gaethje. Being said, love them both, but move on from this, max could get seriously, seriously hurt.

Only problem with Izzy and the MW belt at 300 is if the winner gets banged up. We’ve already seen DDP not agree to a quick turnaround, if he wins next week he’s not very reliable for 300.
That, a rematch with Strickland isn't all that interesting given the way the first one went, and the fact he simply doesn't deserve it. Lost his belt last year, did get it back with an impressive finish in a fight he was losing (by which I mean, in fairness, that it was more impressive), but failed miserably in his first defense. Plus the fact that he was gifted two decisions in fights that he lost, including his first defense after he first won the title.
If Strickland loses it will still almost certainly be a very entertaining fight and if we're talking about giving rematches to people who lost in their first defense, I mean, just saying.. though I would love to see Izzy get wrecked by DDP. Hoping Strickland wins so we see him vs Khamzat and Izzy vs DDP for #1 contender. Those would be awesome additions to 300

Really depends on the Damage regardless I wouldn’t want a Izzy to get that fight seeing as he already had his immediate rematch against Pereira, if he fights at 185 then she should at least fight a top contender first, however if he wants to fight at 300 a fight between him and Pereira at 205 would make more sense
Only problem with Izzy on 300 is that he don't deserve another title chance and that's the fact. He is 4:3 in his last 7 fights and 1:2 in last 3 fights. He already got his immediate rematch. Anyways he will lose again and then finnaly we finish with Izzy and unlimited title shots

As a huge Islam fan, I wish Volk another successful year of defending his featherweight belt. I see no reason why he couldn’t get a 3rd shot at the lightweight belt (maybe in 2025 after Islam moves up to welterweight) as long as he stays dominate and healthy. I’d say he deserves a 3rd shot for stepping up and saving the Abu Dhabi card, along with Usman. They both deserve to be rewarded down the line, imo.

“Islam only wants to fight twice this year”….Nah not really. He wanted to fight in March but they didn’t give it to him (gotta do it before Ramadan). Then he wanted to fight in the summer and then obviously they are gonna have him fight in Abu Dhabi (or maybe MSG but I doubt it). His problem is that he has two things that are hard set on his calendar, Ramadan is on him (not really blaming him but is what it is) and Abu Dhabi is a deal the UFC has in place. That’s why he asked to fight in March. But they gave it to the manufactured “star” and phony ppv draw O’Malley.
