@@KONAMAN100 Costa was set to fight aliskerov too, and took it because he had no idea who it was till Khamzat opened his mouth and said Costa is gonna lose badly.
So Costa backed out once he found out he’s team Khabib. Costa said he felt set up by Dana to get Aliskerov ranked.
Shocked Robert didn’t know neither. He must have and just playing like he didn’t know.

Aliskerov is one of the best on the ground. He’s never been beat on the ground. Hes a 4x combat Sambo champ. He’s the only guy to ever beat Amosov is sambo, and he did it twice.
I’d rather fight Khamzat before Aliskerov. Robert is gonna have to look for that lucky knockout like Khamzat did.
If Aliskerov takes Robert down, the fight is over. Hopefully he doesn’t hurt Robert too bad.

Its really a very tough fight for Aliskerov because he was cutting weight 3 days ago on USA, and now he fly from USA to Middle East for the short notice fight, if Aliskerov won't have a jet lag then he has a chance to win but if he has a jet lag then its nearly impossible to win vs someone like Whittaker.
Aliskerov is built for this. Hes on another level. His team is the best and will know how to condition him. Team Khabib.

He might be better than post-Covid Khamzat though. Ikram is a really good grappler himself & Khamzat hasn’t been the same since covid.. always having problems & trouble keeping weight/staying in shape

Khamzat hasn't been the same since getting Covid. It really trashed him. And the place it's going to show up the most is in doing the hard grind and training required for a 5 round fight.

Whittaker already had really good take-down defence. And he would have had a very wrestling-heavy camp preparing for Chimaev. And, while anything can happen in a fight, I wouldn't back Ikram's stand-up game against Whittaker's.

@@Polarbear17_ For sure. But it's far better for Whittaker to have had a wrestling-heavy camp...even preparing for a very different wrestler...than, say, have been preparing for a striker. Whittaker's wrestling isn't at the same level as a Chimaev or Aliskerov but he's still a very capable wrestler, with strong take-down defence, a BJJ black belt, and an experienced 5 round gas tank.
