The sound of someone trying to breathe after an accident is a horrendous sound to listen to
@noctis nox : similar story, back in 1999 my self and a few others found a bike in the middle of the road. So we looked down in the ditch and found another bike and a rider wedge under the fence. He was weezing and his leg was snapped inwards at the knee. I held the fence back as the medics worked on him. When his helmet was removed, i realized it was Daryl, a guy i met a year before. I hadn't seen since his other wreck a year prior. Sadly he didn't make it. What happened was he and another rider collided at over 100mph. The other guy tried to ride away, but was too injured so he got on the back of his friends bike and they went to the hospital. They just rode away and left Daryl.
noctis nox that would most likely be lateral breathing (or death rattle). Comes from really bad brain damage. Chance of survival is very small.
In the case in the video he fractured his ribs which is probably why he sounded like that. It also sometimes takes some time for the body to figure out how to breath directly after an accident like that.
@noctis nox yeah man, he was married at the time, had two boys 4 and 6. I always think of his family everytime bike season rolls around. Seeing motorcycles are gonna remind her.

It literally felt like a horror movie with that agonizing noise from him not being able to breathe and then when his friend couldn't find him in the tall grass.
i got in a wreck 2 months ago, not a motorcycle wreck, but a high speed head on..fatal wreck. i don’t know exactly what he’s feelings but i can definitely relate, the feeling is not explainable but as soon as i head him i was like…yep😂i feel ya

I felt from the bike two months ago and I broke my left arm, but with the adrenaline I didn't feel pain and I returned home with my bike, driving it with a broken arm.
I started to feel the real pain after a couple of hours and I decided to go to the ER.
Yeah, adrenaline is crazy.

Supported him the whole time, kept him calm, got him help, and didn't laugh before he knew how bad it was. Most of the time, "friends" only stop laughing when they realize its serious, but before they know that its all fun and games. When I broke my back in four different places I didn’t walk on my own for four years. I am waiting for my fifth operation and pelvic fusion. You are so fortunate to be able to walk and also that your recovery only took three months is Incredible and amazing. I’m so grateful for your safety and health. Also you have amazing friends!

To be fair that equipment is only meant for initial impact to the ground and the slide afterwards... once you start impacting other inanimate objects all bets are off.

There are countless possible injuries that may occur in an accident, you can prevent a lot of them, or at least reduce the chances of them occurring.
However if you meant that it's possible to get severely injured or die even with equipment, I totally agree with you.

I say it’s effective up to certain speed... there was a video showing a comparison between cheap gear and authentic and even for the real gear I believe it was around 8-10 seconds.
My 90 mph crash left me with no road rash, but also my padding was starting to come out .. had I hit the poles I slid between I possibly could have broken arms or worse ..

Its the lungs. It has happened to almost all of us. We fall on our backs or just fall and we struggle to breathe. Happens to all of us. You wont die tho, but can struggle to breathe for some time.

I was riding without protections, I fell like him, my left leg was completely red, covered by my blood, the flesh of my knee was grated on the street with part of the skin of my left arm, hand and shoulder. Then I insulted god, I lifted my bike, I insulted god again, the engine started and I drove it to the nearest town followed by a friend with his car. I was thinking about my bike all the time, the pain came later, in the hospital (and it was terrible).

Glad that youre okay! In the beginning, i could definitely relate to the labored breathing. When you have an impact on your back, your breath is forced out and it becomes very diffucult to take in breath. If you are ever in a situation like this, get your breathing under xontrol first and dont panic if nothing comes in for the first few breaths.

I twisted it back and told my friend im fine , that was until i tried to stand up , that it decided to go into another interesting direction , then i realized i was fucked . It doesn't hurt at all due to the adrenaline rush i think .

I tried doing a frontflip when I was much younger and I landed on my head. Made that sound automatically. Couldn’t breathe at all.
Such a hit will push most of your air out of your lungs. And with a bruised or partly collapsed lung you struggle to heave for the air your brain needs to function properly. That combined with the extreme pain.. You cannot not make that noise. I remember it very well from my own MC crash aswell. It’s so disturbing.
he got the wind knocked out of him, and the noises were his body struggling to get more air in. i fell out of a tree and broke my wrist under my back, also breaking a vertebrae in my back in the process, and i was making the same noises. you can’t even talk that’s why when his friend was asking where he was he didn’t say a word at first

2 years ago I wreck head on into another car with my 250 going down a hill and broke everything in my neck and back I was in the hospital for 3 months and spent 2 weeks learning to walk again. Now I’m fully recovered. God is good.

Dude when I was in my coal mining accident that broke my back in 3 places the sound you made is ran chills down me. I couldn't breath and had a major concussion that I had a seizure with. I couldnt😮 walk for 4 days then had to have back surgery to be able to be lead around and people take care of me for months. I mean everything I had to have help with. Glad it wasn't worse. Be safe

Motorcycle accidents are some of the scariest, I’ve witnessed one first hand. I was in a car passing by and we came up to a motorcyclist laying in the middle of the road, thank god they were okay and thank god for the good citizens.
Hearing your friends faintly “Stan where are you man? We’re coming” makes me so happy that in the moment you need them most they are all there and more than willing to help you and be there for you. I’m glad you’re making a full recovery.🙏🏼

i've had the wind knocked out of me.. its fucking horrific.. you can breathe out but when you go to inhale its like your lungs are locked. You just have to wait until your brain stops freaking out and you are able to calmly breathe again.

I was cringing so hard when he started moving, little tip never move after damaging anything near your back or part of your back
They say to avoid it but he was in water and said he felt freezing, that’s for sure hypothermia which can lead to muscles spasming to try and produce heat which can cause far worse injuries on the spine

coke900 better to get a bit chilly than move and possibly permanently paralyse yourself, he would’nt have gotten hyperthermia quick enough and the way he moved was so painful to watch 😂

I fell 35 ft from a building onto a handrail and shattered 3 vertebrae, S5, S4 & S3, and had long term problems associated with my sacral nerves. The pain of spinal fractures suffered from rapid deceleration impacts is unexplainable.
It's literally and figuratively a shattering experience.
Thanks for the love and support. This was a very tough experience for me and it's heart warming to read all the positive comments. I will be sure to keep you all updated on the status of my condition.
