Alex, Your work is very impressive. All the more so because it is microscopic. I am 73 and continue to learn from your video's. Please keep making them for us - sharing your knowledge. You do some awesome work. I see the scientist are with us in droves with this video.
Ths man si an artist, watching him i feel like i am watching a doctor operate on a patient. It is incredibly fascinating. If i had another chance at life i would try to learn this craft.
People don't truly realize how unbelievably tiny these components are. Look likes we had another wannabe microsoldering master fail and just make things more difficult and expensive.
your adjective list gave me a laugh this morning. You are part of my morning routine for learning. Thanks again for all the content you provide. And again, I know the amount of editing you do to keep the videos to the perfect length.
Not only he is precise with his hands and microscopic tweezers, he is fast too. Really impressive.
I worked on those tiny roads many times and it is not easy it takes patience and you need alla of precision in order to do it. I've never left a comment on your videos before but I've watched most of your videos great tips and informations and I like the fact that we can gain knowledge from watching only. Get more ideas on how we can take our work into the nxt lvl great work Alex as always.
Brother you truly are the surgeon of circuitry , god bless you from Scotland 🏴 we love your work
Amazing, really great work. Fantastic job. Love this little shop tour in the end. Greets
For extra strength. Could use UV mask on the sides to hold down the connecter mounts. 😎😎👍👍
Yeah that's what i thought 👍👍
Yet another superb exhibition of your amazing skills and even repairing your own machinery as you go.
Unless that equipment is under a service contract, shops like these will do it themselves.
it is such a plesure to watch u work, i dont know anything about those type of repairs but to see u do that i would like try to do stuff like that. big hello from Croatia
07:57 the way you aligned the new pads is endlessly satisfying. Thank you for pleasing my inner monk :)
I was absolute shit when it came to soldering..but i have been following your channel for quite sometime and learned a lot...yesterday i had swap out a mouse button because as it wasn't working...its probably the easiest task but let me tell you i have done that in the past and it always had been a full on war often the button would get damaged from too much heat while desoldering it from a donor board..but yesterday it went like a charm..I was done in 2 min..learned how to use flux properly..which bit to use...
What a treat to watch, Alex!
Keep up the good work
Always good to see Big Boss in a video. Amazing work
That's basically a surgery! You're an artist!
Alex ive been watching your for a while. Thank you for your work I nerd out watching these soldering vids👍
Ive tried taking a chip off of a board not long ago with a hot air station and some flux. It's easier than it looks to rip pads when trying to take the parts off. I guess the low melt solder is very much needed for getting the original solder to melt easier.
Tip for new to soldering: do not pick up surface mounted components while desoldering. Gently push them to aside, and if component can slide, you can pick it up. If you pick up component while few pins still stuck, you will rip them off for sure.
Lmao "Amazing, buetiful, cute, handsome, pretty..." you know he's got this.
You always make the tough jobs look so easy.
Hi Alex,
Great work as usual, your videos are so impressive, not just on technical level, on moral and business level as well.
it's been a while since I'm following the channel, i noticed that you only use solder wire and don't use solder paste, any reason for that? or it's just a personal preference?
Excellent workmanship
Very nice job 👍 i liked the words you used when checking the pins 😂
if you could find 40 different words for solid... 😆
always great watching your repairs, keep up the good word
Neat we made the circuit board for your McDonald tape machine. They have newer models out too with Oled display. 😉

I like how flux helps to keep the pads in place
Tbark'Allah love these videos. Spreading knowledge Hamdou'Allah
Nice work!
Take big boss out for lunch. He holds the fort down while you're soldering and fixing things.
That house in Vegas is definitely NOT worth 2 1/2 times what was paid. The market earlier this year may have pushed it that high, but it's plummetting as we speak.
@@starmc26
WTF are you talking about??
@@TexasTimelapse I live in las Vegas, I'M TELLING YOU that home values ARE PLUMMETTING and houses AREN'T SELLING..... Dolt.
Awesome repair. I follow your videos regularly and you work on a lot of Asus, HP spectre ... laptops. I'm planning on buying a laptop soon I would appreciate it if you would recommend a brand and model that's less likely to visit your work-bench...
Good work . I like this work
Keep making remarks on every pin you test, it's very satisfying.
Your skills are impressive indeed !
It’s easy to forget how the microscopic components and lines are you work with. I struggle making perfboard look good.
I’m confused about the glue, had they actually tried to use hot snot to hold an ic in place?
great working bro
sir plz do a video about your tools , need to know whats the paste you use to scratch the copper path
I love how you are always selling your online store products. nice job.
This channel generates a lots of repairs just from prior repair attempts of people who watched your videos and thought: I can do that!
Hey Alex,
I recently purchased a UV solder mask and the 10W UV lamp from your store. I notice in most of your videos, you use your hot air station afterwards. When I use it with inly the lamp, the solder mask remains liquid with only a thin layer getting hard. How can I make it get hard without going and buying a hot air station just for this?
Nice work as usual, you said before you are going to make a video about removing the glare from camera pictures can you please make it
Excellent job
Just finished adapting Lenovo Z40-70 board to replace a dead one from Z50-70, reflowed a total of 8 flex cable connectors, what I wanted to mention is that Cadmium-containig alloys can really ease the process up to the point that its not even requred to preheat the board. The downside is the toxicity of Cadmium however...
Another great job dude , I’ve been following your videos for a while now and have learned so much I finally plucked up the courage to fix an Xbox one s with torn pads underneath the hdmi port and shocked myself that I fixed it lol 😂 keep doing what you do , with out guys like you it wouldn’t be possible for us rookies to follow in your footsteps ❤️❤️
Alex, your video's are outstanding! and I have a question. where do you buy your micro capacitors, or do you just get them from donor boards, I need to replace one on a Flash drive. Thank you
I'm not sure where he gets them, but he buys them in big books that have different sizes and shapes, maybe try looking that up?
@@stevenbryant1011 Thank you for the advice.
Good job mate.
Like you said, amazing!
Alex, out of all the things in the video i just got excited on the last part you where mentions solid, beautiful, cute😁
Nice job like always 👌how i se you need to get red off things from the shop what you dont need to make some roam or you ned to expand the shop😉
What tool do you using to scrape the circuit ?
what temperature to remove connector ?
Wouldn't it be a an idea to take the lvds connectors from broken laptop screens? I am sure plenty of those get thrown out.
Every board have tens or hundreds of usable parts/components. IMO, unsoldering them from every board would be way too time consuming, so it's better to remove them only when needed.
Alex you should do some Customer's unpacking lap-top to repair videos, you know, nice work
I am from Lebanon ... Do you get any stuff for fixing from Lebanon ?
Good Job 👍🏻
Alex, this video and others beg the question, where do you get all the donor boards?
As far as I know he gets them from unrepairable or people who don't want to pay for a repair, and then don't want to pay the bench fee. The deal is he can waive bench fee if he gets to keep the device.
I had one of these a while ago, same board almost exactly. I got lucky, no ripped pads.
I usually go in with a screwdriver if I have to "desolder" a component like that!
I think you can apply solder mask to entire the copper to get it more solid to pwb, then you can dremel or shaving it for solder pad.
Too much work, easier to just put mask on the ends. He doesn't get paid by the hour.
@@lookitskazzy Will be there additional work if that get detached. Dremel/shaving just taken few second.
Awesome 👌 👏 👍
based on your experience which laptop brand you think is better , also based on fact that Alienware is not most bought one like some of other brands?
Very good job 👏 👍 👌
Good job...
I like getting to explore Big Boss's zone. It looks like an interesting place.
I’m about to start learning how to do my own micro soldering and eventually learn BGA so I can repair anything I need too like I have a PS3 that needs work but it would be cheaper to buy a used one than send it to you for fixing but if I could do it myself that would be awesome the chip I need is only like $0.25 but that may not be all that’s damaged I’ll see
would love to see more of big boss in action :)
i also replace this connector in the same way.
Luckily i found this connector on old laptop broken screen that all have the same 40 pin connector.
I hope you're looking for land so that you can build the house that you want, custom designed for your family's needs.
I know that it would not be cheap but you could build it with areas to be finished later as you can afford.
Building in CA is going to be expensive but when finished, it will be quite a good long term investment.
Prefab metal building kits they have out now are very nice and go up quick keeping labor costs down.
They are very efficient and with very low maintenance.
Some of the metal building house kits are pretty impressive.
AND, they don't burn down.
You could add power cells to the roof and keep your utility costs low.
Once I saw that last house you looked at, I could tell it was a piece of crap.
I've been building structures for a long time and renovating them as well.
As I said, look for a kit that has extra room for growth.
I have a friend who bought one in Las Vegas. It is now worth two and a half times more than the original cost and that's just been in the last 3 years.
Wow, what a darn fine cherry pie operation!.👏👏👏👏Beautiful, cute, pretty, amazing. 😂😂Love it.
qual nome desse Microscópido ?
Happy customers 😀
i love this microscopic works
Looks like fun.
That one pin when you said "handsome" was like, "Oh. I wasn't expecting that, but hey."
It seemed to me that the 18th pin was slightly moving. Good video as usual.
отдолу самият пад също беше почти изтръгнат, запоеното пинче се мърдаше заедно с пада и понеже пада все още имаше достатъчно добра връзка с платката, реши да го остави така.
Please make a on video on that LG monitor
You and Big Boss are epic
Charger have to be included if I send a laptop for repair ?
not necessary, they've got a universal charger if needed
The Last laptop in the video, is an Asus Strix?
Good job
how to be you hahaha., i enjoy watching your video., its all awsome, every video new knowledge, thanks for sharing, I hope I can manage my mini shop to, I just move to our new house.,
Замечательная работа! Где можно приобрести такую проволоку?
Hi Alex, How can I contact you?
Muito bom trabalho!! 😄😄😄
I really enjoy your videos. I was hoping to get a recommendation on what flux I should buy. The flux I got seems to be not to good. Its dirty and seems to burn. It looks way different from what you are using. I sell computers but with the tax laws changing I have been getting into more repairs. I get inspiration from watching your videos for sure and I learn a lot from them. Thank you for all the good videos and I hope you keep making them. You have inspired me to switch to doing the repairs like this. I am a master mechanic. I got hurt at work and I have a lot of health issues now so I am trying to do this to make money for my family. I am no longer able to work on cars but I can do this kind of repairs from home. Again thank you so much for all the amazing videos.
Alex will recommend their preferred flux of course, but in the mean-time you can try reducing your solder temperature if things burn too easily. A nicer soldering pen will better control the tip temperature at the solder melting temp without overheating components.
You don't do repairs: you do miracles! 👍
This really is an amazing repair!
Isn't there anyway to support back of connector (where support pads where peeled ) to make it more sturdy?
Maybe solder mask could do, Alex?
Alex in your opinion and experience which brand of laptop has the lowest failure rate? you mention that you receive tons of asus laptops. which brand would you buy for your family or its the most reliable? thanks in advance!
Dell seems to be most reliable in my 13 years of laptop repair.
@@thelaptoprepaircentre1142 Noted thanks!
Just because a lot of Asus laptops need repair, doesn't necessarily mean they have a higher failure rate. You have to look at how many are sold every year vs how many need repair.
@Repair Wins Ive had 2 Asus laptops in the last 10 years, i only recently purchased an Asus rog zephyrus m15 because my older Asus was upgraded as much as possible.... No problems Ever with my Asus laptops, that's MY personal experience. You're obviously just a "fan" of another brand, and you like to IGNORANTLY trash the ones that YOU had a problem with. Your opinion is garbage.
,I have a very fine curved soldering iron tip but it can't melt a solder.. what's the best brand for that?.,
You either need to increase the temperature of the soldering station or use low melt solder wire... also make sure the tip is nice and clean.
I ran across that problem too in my early days and often need to find solutions for such problems.
Hakko is a good brand, been using the Hakko FX-951 for years without issues.
@@randomkitty2555 oh.. I see,, I just ordered mine online, without a brand name. My soldering iron is always at max, so I guess it's just the tip that can't melt a solder.
@@graealex I will consider that, thanks for the response.,
@@graealex True but if you're on a budget Weller or Hakko is the way to go.
Imagine what work Alex could do if he was a surgeon……excellent channel. I’m not an electronics engineer I’m a gas engineer. But spend hours watching Alex ….my girls says I’m having a bromance …..I dont think she understands how a mans mind works 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
All good word for conector pin is very funny moment😌😌😅👍👍
i wonder how does he end up with *donor boards* given he can fix almost everything which seems to be unfixable
You'll NEVER go bankruptcy due to the insane amount of work you have. And that's good news for us, the viewers.
bonus repair!
So much to do
epic surgery Dr. Alex
17:56 Well... Years of experience is doing job done perfectly

"What's inside the package? ASUS laptop. Great, what's new?" 😂
تصليح شاشة خارجي i liked ♥
is not eDP? you keep saying LVDS they are different interfaces mainly because LVDS goes kinda more directly to the screen while eDP is the little brother of Display Port
