- This is the new update for the Xbox 360 slated for releases this Fall (Fall 2010). The dashbaord update is mainly focused for Kinect but also delivers improved speeds, voice quality, and much more. The Preview Program will give you the chance to check out ESPN on Xbox LIVE, Zune music, Netflix search, the new Xbox LIVE dashboard, and new updates to Zune video and Family Settings on your Xbox 360.

I felt like this was the beginning of bad times for the 360 dashboard, the old startup was iconic, but this modern dashboard felt like NXE and Metro had fused.
Still better than metro...

Blades, NXE and NXE Kinect we’re great dashboards things started going downhill when that ugly metro dashboard came into the picture because they was focusing on TV and media

I remember how pissed off I was that this was the new dashboard... oh the memories I actually had a slim and a Xbox elite and never updated one due to the hatred I had because of this big blocky white bright damn dashboard. Here I go again
This started the decline of Xbox UIs, starting with the Kinect update, the UI got more flat in appearance, and a bit too bright with the whites, made it hard on the eyes when gaming at night. The 2008 NXE dashboard was the second best Xbox UI (the best being Blades), as it had a pleasing design, and while it did get a little simplified in terms of detail, it was still very noticeable, and was easier on the eyes with the dark grays.
Yeah. Easily the worst one is the Metro one which has Windows 8 as the 360 UI and as for the brightness, I agree it's too bright at times, they should've had a night mode or kept the color feature from the Blades which is so dope.

They should have kept this dashboard. It was more or less the same functionality as NXE but with some design refreshes to go with the slim.
There was no reason to update from here.
Personally I love the flat design way more, but there's something about the old, curved, 3D-esque design that just amazes me to this day.
That's why I love the Windows Vista too, this type of design is way more advanced to my eyes in a tech way, I think the appearance on vista is more actual than in windows 8 or 10.
I love the 3d it made me feel like I was inside a new world specially your friends list when you can see them sleeping or when they are in a party

Metro sucks, Kinect was just a UI change that made everything light and got rid of minor features that made the 360 amazing, NXE was the prettiest but it was less functional, and blades was intuitive.

Man i would never update that to 2010 Kinect Dashboard, NXE just looked so unique and awesome, compared to a weird looking NXE Metro mix that i did not like
Kinect should've been the last update imo, it didn't have the Windows 8 design cluttering everything with ads on each tab, yeah the NXE and Kinect had ads but if you were on the first page of each tab, the ads weren't as bad and I'll never forget the My Xbox tab or how you didn't have to click on a Friends button to see their avatars or the dynamic theme changes

The new dashboard is ugly and ad ridden. The colours are bad, whoever decided to "improve" the dashboard should be shot.

Feel as sad for me as you want, I only experienced the metro disign, so I prefer it. If only there was an update that let you choose what dashboard you wanted, so I know how great the other ones are.

I know tons of people love the old dashboards, but I personally hate them. They just look so incredibly dated to me.
