How do you fix it if it's the Kinect is showings a red dot
If there is a red dot it means that it's not level

what happens if during setup the cord from the xbox to kinnect is disconnected. during setup.?
the xbox got turned off,after the wire from the xbox was pulled out.
the kinnect does not seem to work properly cannot play any games cannot find,any either.
no matter how many times I go on settings to recalibrate it.. it dies not see players

I just bought an xbox 360 from a seller on amazon and when i turn it on it goes to a screen that wants me to press the circular button and the A button. I did that but it doesnt do anything else. what can i do to make it work?
I'm impressed how Microsoft made Kinect. Its responsive and smooth. Compared to the Wii, it does have a problem with the response time. Overall, I think Kinect is pretty good

I got the Xbox Kinect just a couple days ago and when I got it it only came with the sensor and not another cord that goes with it because I got it refurbished from GameStop and I called around to see if they have the cable and stock and nobody has the cable in stock so we had to order it online so I am using my grandma Xbox Kinect cable tell mine comes in the mail it's stupid that GameStop does it carry that cable with the Kinect

On my 500gb new Xbox u just put it in update and there u go it plays
I got a xbox 360 slim with the kinect today and when I set it up i didn't need to go in a circle, but in the settings I did something to pick a good place and to move the angle of the kinect.
@jon4lakers, great vid, just wanted to know, I move my xbox from room to room a LOT so I just wanted to know, do you have to calibrate it everytime you move it?

I was worryed a little because my KINECT that I bought tonight never came with a installation disc, and I kinda figured Microsoft would have the updates through XBOXLIVE just wanted 2 make sure \:) You have a pretty cool set up there for your entertainment guy. I'm sure looking 4ward to no more controller needed to navigate the XBOX360 Dashboard (menu), Voice Recognition and Voice Command with Hand Gesture Controls will be Nothing Short of AEWSOME!! cheers ..

@KidKariminal they did for the older model. the new model contains a special port for the connect which also supplies power to the device.

but once you get the red dot there will come a message on the dashboard to turn your power off because it's overheating

@zoliviragh u dont need xbox live to use kinect... but if you have it it will make the experience 1000 times better... because instead of only playing games you can watch espn videos, do video chats, etc

@demon9047 it should be because it says the update is required to use the device & says if you decline you won't be able to use it.
If your in a xbox live match ( e.g. On kinect sports ) with a mate how can you talk too them without using a headset ??

@twinklestyle try it sometimes and you'll get huge scratches in a ring around the disc when the disk hits your lens because MS was too lazy to put laser guards (or w/e) in, maybe they added that to the new one but i doubt it
@game3101010 for the dashboard update tes you do, but for the kinect update i dont think so. Take into account that you will need the dashboard update for it to work.

when your done setting up kinect it ask you to setup xbox360.should i press exit or just go on.

@prodicalbishop A lot of people are saying that now, but if you actually read it, it says that they CAN NOT monitor voice chat or video chat. What they will monitor is if people actually use voice chat on the kniect or see if its a useless feature and other things like that. No where in it does it say they will watch through the Kinect camera at you.

@allnews365 I prefer to have mine flat on the ground. Just as a precaution, I don't recommend sitting your xBox up straight because it may get tipped over.
