Thanks for posting. Probably the most thorough video on this. I'm happy to see the tank doesn't need to be completely removed which makes the burping process much easier.

excellent. one of the best quality and most thorough videos that I have seen on this subject. i was going to get the Honda dealer to do it but they wanted $1,000 to change the antifreeze, change the spark plugs and check the valve gap, but now i feel confident to do it on my own. thanks.

I had several reasons. Stock seat is very comfortable for a solo rider but if you have a passenger they will say It’s the worst thing ever. Second, I’ve had several back surgeries and I wanted the best seat I could get.

Great video! I am doing my coolant flush this weekend. I live in Texas so i plan on flushing with water first and then replenishing with the Honda blue coolant. Your video will help me along the way. Thanks!

hi Doug, great tutorial, proper lighting, clear audio. work done like a pro. i have a unrelated question. why did you change the stock seat for a mustang seat, when soo many other videos say that the stock seat is soo comfortable. now i will check out your other videos.

Good video... but you were giving me heart palpitations watching you wrench the speedometer back on, with the ratchet hanging half off the socket. Lol

Thanks Doug. I'm looking to buy a used 2009 Shadow (same two-tone color as yours) and just wanted to be sure I'll be able to do my coolant changes. I used Prestone 50/50 in the past on my previous bike. I'm assuming the Prestone 50/50 will be fine. Correct?

I’m thinking Honda recommends their coolant. I think there’s some corrosive problems. If it’s not the right chemistry I check the shadow forums on Facebook as a good resource or a shop manual

thanks so much for this video! I was wondering how long the antifreeze would last, as it's now 8 years old. (2015 VT750 shadow aero) I don't think the original owner did the change as the bike had only 850 kilometers on it when I bought it. I'm going to change that antifreeze! and change the plugs, as the motor has developed a small hunt when it's hot.
What city are you in? I'm in Coquitlam, up the creek from Vancouver.

Your bike should be pretty much the same as mine. My VT 750 shadow arrow is a 2014 in the video. My bike came with green coolant but the latest stuff from Honda is blue. I’m not sure what year they changed to this things on the Internet vary from place to place, I’m glad you found the video helpful. And for your final question, I live in Barrie Ontario.

I bought mine on Kijiji, used jacks are easy to find. People are always selling motorcycles. This one is the same idea www.princessauto.com/en/1100-lb-motorcycle-atv-lift/product/PA0008667818
The also have the same one as mine on Amazon.
