I totally agree we should always have the choice, just like with explicit music…..as a kid lol growing up with 4kids it didn’t bother me then, but knowing the heavy censorship now as an adult who loves anime I despise them censoring literally anything, especially considering how the mangas are 😭 I really wish they’d just let the studios adapt things more faithfully, it’s bad enough things have to be cut cause of time/money/production schedules/etc.

I dropped this anime because the MC is a deadbeat father, but you got a PSA for Harem in a Labyrinth of Another World, and there's still censorship.
4kids did make some kickass openings though. Fans may hate what they did to One Piece but there's probably not one of them who hates the One Piece rap lol

@@dwainsimmons3447 I don't remember much of them considering it's been years since I've watched them but from what I do remember, they were ok. Yu-Gi-Oh was still censored in some spots but ya gotta give credit to 4kids for attempting to release uncut sets for both it and Shaman King.
Watching this video made me really happy that I don't live in China. Because I can't imagine watching anime with that level of censorship. It really made me feel bad for the anime fans who live over there.

@@rebaxbayushi577 There isnt much to censor in my life bro but one example i would be mad about if they censor AoT or if they did the same with Parasite. Series where there is an importance of showing gore and horror is different from what you are talking about, like fan service. The censorship is mostly common in dictatorship countries like China, so you dont even have to worry but honestly if you dont like something you are not forced to watch it that doesnt mean you cant give an opinion on it.
I hate censorship of all kinds and want people to remember censorship of stuff you don't like will trickle down to affect things you like.

I’m not totally against censorship like every country can do what they want and do what they believe right for themselves (mostly saying this a difference in culture not immoral or anything like that) but I would like to watch stuff as intended make it language,culture and scenes etc. This was a great video for info

Honestly for me right now it doesn’t bother me as long as I can see the original aswell I’m okay with that. That being said in some situations it could be “censor it or it’s banned” of course a lot of fans over seas will not be happy but atleast they can watch it.
WOAH! Mato Seihei no Slave is a Shounen Jump(+) serialization!!?? That is huge. This opens up the most competitive magazine in the world to a whole, a new level of maturity. The manga industry is still growing and surprising us with new titles from unlikely sources.
And yes, I know that Shueisha's shounen magazines (Shounen Jump+ and Shounen Jump) are not the same, but they are interlinked.
I don't know who thought that word would have been a problem. and in reality in America it never really were it's a time in our history and it should never be forgotten of course so it never happened again. but the word has never been a problem when I first heard about it I was kind of dumbfounded. on how stupid that was I mean it should never be censored unless someone from another country don't know Americans that well.

For one in my country we like anime to be for all ages to enjoy so we need to remove bad stuff so kids and teens can watch anime , it is not necessary to have lots of blood or inappropriate scenes in a show or movie

I'm NOT going to watch this XD whether it's the American version or the Chinese version or whatever version if it's censored in my opinion it's not particularly worth the watch. Not trying to sound pervish but the characters should be the way that they should be. I mean you don't see a change in how when women especially in America go to the beach they wear the most skimpy attire possible. And children come face to face with that almost on a daily basis during the summer months. So to censor something in a cartoon at least to that degree in my opinion is ridiculous. Not that I'm completely against censoring because some anime out there are .... a little too spicy for lil tikes to watch.

Agreed. The fanservice and degeneracy is one of the main reasons I'm just kinda giving up on modern anime and sticking with older stuff. It's like what Hayao Miyazaki said about the industry "being filled with people who can't stand being around other human beings", it's not made for normal people anymore, it's made for the otaku basement dwellers.
And it's not that I have a problem with adult jokes in animation, hell my favorite channel is Adult Swim. It's just how obnoxious and disgusting it gets in anime nowadays. Also, I agree with you on Fire Force, that "joke" made me so annoyed after a while, especially after the creator spent a whole chapter basically strawmanning people who complained about it.

Gentlemen and anime fans alike it’s time to start gatekeeping your favorite shows games ect. There’s a reason why you see so much woke shit in media today look at Star Wars everyone was optimistic for the last Jedi and then they went in and changed lore and destroyed characters then the fans of all the original stuff suddenly became shunned Star Wars has not recovered since the last Jedi. Gatekeep your favorite stuff
When fans ask why it is I didn't mind 4Kids as much as some of the more recent censored examples, it comes down to what each of them offer. With 4Kids it is crystal clear they had no intention of following the source material, but they did have their own fun with it. I go back and watch some of their work on Pokemon and Yugioh, and it's clear they're painfully aware of how stupid their edits were, some even going so far as to break the 4th wall wide open. So, with 4Kids I see them as most an official abridged series that worked with what they had at the time. When it comes to modern changes and censorship in modern shown from companies like Funimation, that is absolute negative. Funimation prides themselves on being true to the source material, and they are...to an extent. They still change some stuff not only in their dubs, but in their subs as well. And since they boast about being faithful, it comes across as being far more backhanded than 4Kids. As for these Chinese versions, whatever. So long as Funimation doesn't start using those for their releases, fine, they can have them.
But watching it over again those 4kids dubs didn’t age well.
I do prefer Chinese Lilu over the weird impossible anatomy of the original.

I'm usually against censorship in general, but honestly the censorship of Demon Slayer in China isn't a big deal to me. The fact that they put in the time to make it actually look good is kinda awesome compared to how lazily implemented some visual censorship can be. As for the 'slave' stuff, changing the name of the series to not use that word is not censorship imo. It's localization. That word has a very dark history in America and the purpose of localization is to make works more accessible to people of a specific region. If that means changing the name slightly to not prominently use a word with so much baggage, I say go for it.
I prefer Chinese Ilulu, I personally didn't like the sexualized version of her. Not saying ones better than the other, just my personal preference
She's in a ecchi comedy do it's only natural she'll be sexualized. Regular Illulu is better cause censorship is gross.
