- Ultrapoi have just released a new revision to their Helix Poi with the Helix Poi Pro--but are they worth the upgrade? Helix poi are designed with glowstringers in mind--they have a stick-like form factor coupled with an intuitive mode interface, swivels, and a variety of handle options. They represent a leap forward from the older Helix poi in that they give users access to more modes, an easier to use form factor, and a little bit of extra weight on the end. Drex, omg thank you. First off, I love green and orange, and it'd been frustrating not having a good combo of them. In addition, I really appreciate how informative, and how gentle your tutelage has been and continues to be. Tutelage probably isn't the word I'm looking for, nonetheless I'm grateful

I just got a pair, and I grew up learning glowskicking poi, but left that a long time ago for some more heft. Iv have been looking all around , but can’t seem to find if ultra poi have anything similar to the flow masses that flowtoys (used to?) have. It would be awesome if you know where I can order something for helix poi pro, or even know a good DIY way to add just a little bit more mass to the ends

Thanks for the review! I would be interested to try these out, I don't have much experience with glow stringing. I'm I'm in the amateur and I find my emazing lights poi to be a bit heavy. A thought I've had for a while now is that the next upgrade in programmability would be to have an app that streamlines the whole process and allow for much more versatility in the possibilities. I have several lightbulbs in my house that work with that format so I see the possibility there.
Flowtoys now have an app for their products and it's awesome
Own a set of the non pro version. You only get access to program 4 strobe/fade options but do get all the colors. I use them with helix poi on both ends of each tether. (Handles in the glowstringing world)
I find that when im doing wraps, im constantly changing the modes. This ruins my programs, and i have to stop and reset them to my selection!! Super frustrating it would be awesome if they had a switch that would lock the program selection/deactivate the buttons.
I feel like these were meant for glowstringers, but considerations aside from weight (still too heavy in comparison to glowsticks btw) accomidating how glow stringers spin has alot of growth opertunities.
Overall i really like the product but find that my speed is slower due to heft and i have to just be ok with random mode selection because my style of spining (lots of wraps and string manipulations) cause unintentional button presses.
I just bought the non pro ones and i am having such a hard time figuring out the color functions one of my lights wont turn on no matter what i try im starting to think the other one is not showing me all the modes not sure what todo
What are gunslingers?
Are those soft or hard (beginner)?
