  • Can you get programmable LED poi without the pain? Ignis Pixel certainly thinks so! Their Jelly Poi 24 are a soft, inexpensive set of programmable poi that give you 24 pixels of display while being housed in 3D printed housings that are softer and more forgiving than the polycarbonate housings many programmable LED poi have. Do the Jelly Poi live up to the hype or do we just have to make peace with LED poi that leave their mark whenever they hit us? Check out my review to find out!

    Really enjoy how the curved spines on the poi keep the spin stabilized in the plane

      Thanks so much! Like I said, I was actually really surprised when I brought them into the studio and discovered how responsive they were. My brain definitely had a moment of “alright! Let’s cook!” 😂

      @@DrexFactor it was beautiful! Looked like they handled better than longer programmable versions from Ignis

      @@Fossi_Flow Absolutely! Poi with that kind of weight distribution have never quite felt right to me. Stalls feel wonky and the momentum feels super squirrelly. I reckon I'd probably get more comfortable with this form factor over time if I spent more time learning glowstringing techniques, but as it stands the weight distribution of these falls right into my comfort zone!

    This review is very beneficial and have been meaning to get a set of programmable poi. What is holding ne back from investing in them is the durability of the poi. I don't want them to break if I hit myself or drop them. Definitely want to get a set if programmable poi that I can use for songs and while I practice different tricks.

      It is deffinately an investment, and i would say keep looking into reviews get a great set like these. You can also incorporate them into a show and make a few hundo then boom you got your money back quick. Some people like to watch glow more than fire. Also if your not at that level, ultrapoi are low price, high quality that will last for YEARS to get you started. What is your style? Contact, flow, tech?

    These have led strips in them that easily stop working when they get bent from doing certain moves or hitting them against stuff . They are able to bend and are soft but returning them sucks cuz you have to send them to Russia which cost me about 60$ and I had to return them twice . Third time they stopped working is just figured I'll have to live with some leds not working .

    i will let you know as soon as they come in. after hearing what you had to say about them, im going to give them a try, will be my 1st set of prog. poi. ive been waiting for softer versions. i use a lot of contact so this should help. and also reading more into it, you can remove the ball bearings and lose up to almost 3g.

    Whats the weight like compared to say podpoi or zebra poi? And the pinching during wraps/bounces isn't so bad to give yoilu blood blisters like the pixel poi minis did do they?

    • @DrexFactor
      @DrexFactor  Před 8 měsíci

      Lighter than Zebra Poi. Heavier than Podpoi. These did not give me blood blisters. It was less pinching than simply impact from weight and hardness repetitively.

    Is it easy to remove the tethers and add your own? Can they fit VPC tethers from FlowToys?

    • @DrexFactor
      @DrexFactor  Před 6 měsíci

      Sadly it is not. I've removed and modified tethers in their Bubble Poi and doing so the first time resulted in damaging the circuits inside. I had to have replacements sent to me. With the Jelly Poi, I couldn't even see a way to remove the tethers from the heads and given what I'd learned from the Bubble Poi, I opted just not to try. It might be a good idea to contact the company directly and see if they'd be willing to do a special order for you with the different tethers to start with.

    They are definitely a crowd pleaser. Everyone loves them...hmm ive had them for a while but did not know they are programmable or that i could put graphics on them. Gees I better look into it 😂 Battery life is good....Cost is expensive but worth it. Not sure about customer service

      As it turns out, quality comes with a price! But yes, I would absolutely say to learn with a cheaper and more durable set of poi first before upgrading to a set like this.

    I’ve commented on a video of yours in the past about how terrible this company is. Support is awful and they sent back broken jelly pods after I spent $100 to ship back to Russia. A bit disappointing that you’re giving them exposure.

    • @Igor_Ignis
      @Igor_Ignis Před 8 měsíci +5

      Hello, Brent! I'm Igor from Ignis Pixel. Checked your support request, saw that it was closed, and we shipped you repair. After that, we have no other requests from you (at least there is no one I know of), so we didn't know the repaired poi were broken. We are ready to solve your case on the most acceptable terms for you. Could you please contact our support team again and describe the problem. Our support team is already aware and will respond to you promptly.
      I also would like to mention that we significantly improved the response speed of support and repair time, and have a service center in Estonia.
      Thank you!
