I just have one quick question: After taken the noom quiz, my cost came up to be $174. Is that monthly or for the year?
@@lattinasadler6001 @Lattina Sadler That sounds like the year. Last time I checked the cost was about $60 per month, but gradually reduced by $10 for each additional month you signed up for ($150 for 3, $160 for 4, etc.). Here's the link to their curre t pricing to check😉 www.noom.com/blog/how-much-does-noom-cost/
Hey @MacktheMaverick are you still on Noom? I'm wondering what its like a few years in.
@@annaa8 Hi! The short answer is...sort of. I am taking my sweet time through the refresher course, but I mainly just use the app to log my weight, food, and exercise, and manage my daily calories. Once you internalize the methodology, it becomes part of your lifestyle. The reminders are helpful though - I've recently incorporated some new strategies this year that I didn't the first time. Notwithstanding major fibroid issues earlier this year, I have managed to hover around my weight in this video! So, I'd say it's still working for me.
@MacktheMaverick cool. So they go through the info again as a refresher course?
I just signed up for Noom yesterday (so far I like how organized it is and how it seems to combine all the pieces I get from other apps/methods into one easy to use platform). I was looking for reviews on youtube and found your channel and website....you have such unique content! I follow "fitness" youtubers, "beauty" youtubers, etc. and you delve into all the pieces of being a healthy, well-rounded woman. I loved the way you described how you felt after not focusing on your physical health for a while....that really resonated with me because yeah I want to lose some weight, but more than that I want to feel comfortable and grounded in my body again. Kudos to you on your awesome channel!
I can't begin to tell you how much this blessed me today. As my little corner of the internet is evolving and being "reborn," the heart of it remains the same - to be authentic, make a difference and help others embrace what is unique and beautiful about themselves. I always hope someone finds inspiration in the peaks and valleys of my growth but it is hard some days! I needed to know that someone "gets it" and be reminded that what I'm doing matters. Thank you soooo much for taking the time to share with me!
Your candid, heartfelt narratives are truly appreciated.
Thank you so much!!
I just joined today! And then decided to look up other people's experiences. Thank you for posting your story!
My pleasure to share!
Just watched your review and thanks for honest review. I’ve been thinking and rethinking the Noom program and done the test questions at least 5 times. I think after your review I will try it. Thanks so much!
Wonderful! Happy New Year, and best wishes on your wellness journey. 😊
"Noom for life" is 100% correct. Thank you for all the information! I am almost complete with my 16 weeks and a bit anxious about what happens after. I did not know or have heard about the free version of the app and as soon as you mentioned it, all worries went away. I've noticed when I don't use the app, like on vacations, I still keep with the program without thinking about it. I suppose my brain and trust in myself hasn't caught up to my actions yet :) Thank you again for the info!
You got this! The fact that you're still making those choices is a good sign that the change is true. Be sure to check out my "Life After Noom" updates - I'll be sharing my progress and tips for how I'm managing my habits outside the Noom "nest"!
I greatly appreciate this review! I am on day three of my trial and so far I am impressed!
As a therapist, I definitely appreciate the psychology behind Bx change. However, I NEVER considered applying such to food prior to Noom!
You gained a subscriber 😊
Thank you so much! I'm glad it helped and I wish you much success on your healthy lifestyle journey.😁
I’m also a licensed therapist and trying this out. I want to lose 20lbs and I too was drawn in by the CBT approach.
I just signed up for Noom today! Thank you for your feedback and your transparency. Congratulations on your success :)
Thank you! And good luck in your journey 😊
How's it going with Noom
Thank you for sharing. I am a month a couple of days into the program, I'm down 18 lbs, I have more energy, and I'm not hungry all of the time now that Noom has equipped me with some knowledge about food, hormones, and hunger. I also don't think about food as often. I've seen just a couple of videos from people who haven't been on the program long who are a bit negative, so hearing from you after a year on the program is very helpful.
Congratulations on your progress so far. It's amazing how changing your mindset can have an impact on your physical health and quality of life. And you're right -It is indeed unfair to expect a complete 180 in a couple weeks. Lasting changes often require longer investments, so keep on pushing. You can do this!
Thank you so much for this in depth review. I appreciate you taking the time. Good job!
Thank YOU for giving it a watch!
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I don’t recall ever being so eloquently walked through such well organized insights.
You also explained something I’ve always had a difficult time putting words to. I’ve also been fortunate to be quite active throughout my life and find that I thrive when I most honor my body with the right type of balance, movement, and diet.
My happiness confidence interval is +\- ~5 pounds, but outside of that range represents much more than the weight itself. My weight and health is integrated highly with my other value centers and is the way I feel the most balanced.
🙏.
Thank you for sharing such insightful feedback! I'm so glad my story resonated with you.
Love this. Love the hoodie, too 💕
Thanks Sis! #yougottagotoRoss 🤣
Thank you for this video! It’s so Inspirational 😊 I started Noom this past Wednesday and I can’t wait to be able to say I lost 15 lbs and kept it off 😩🙏🏾
Congratulations!! Enjoy the journey - I'm rooting for you to reach your goal.🙌🏾
Hey soRHOr!!! Love this video! 💙💛 I’m definitely considering giving Noom a try.
Heeeeyyy soRHOr!!💙💛 Thanks for watching and definitely consider it. Greater service to my health is allowing me to make greater progress in many areas of my life 😉 and I hope it does for you, too.
I feel you I been a yo-yo I was 380 went to 171 from a gastric bypass then I traded food for cocaine and crack I became a massive addict after my hubby introduced me into the drug world it took me down to almost 100 pounds and I loved it but others thought I yes looked like what they called a crack head well ive been in recovery for 3 years and I can’t loose it again I will never go back to drugs oh heck naw!!! But…I need help loosening this my esteem is horrible so I give you a lot of credit!!! Please don’t judge everyone I’m human and I’m tackling my issues professionally!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your story. I thank God for your life and what you have been able to overcome so far. Be encouraged that if you made it this far, you have the strength inside to conquer the next mountain. I'm also glad you are tackling this season of your journey professionally. Kudos to you for taking steps toward health and healing. No matter what, regardless of what size you are, know that you are WORTHY and WONDERFUL. And no judgment - it doesn't matter where you've been, only where you're going. I'm rooting for you! You got this!
Thank you for all the information and transparency, especially going for the free option after 16 weeks. I've really wanted to do Noom, but I had to make a budget for it
You're so welcome! Definitely keep your eyes peeled for coupon codes, too.
Thank you for your honesty review!
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching.
Thank you sis for explaining this do clearly and so realistically. I’m signing up with the 80% coupon they sent me ❤️
Thank you for stopping by, Lynette and/or Stanley! (When I mentioned watching YT commentaries, Random TV Reviews is definitely on that list. So, I am quietly fan-girl-ing over here. LOL) I wish you continued success and new success on your healthy lifestyle journey!
Thanks for your personal review of Noom. I started last week and love it! They offered that I could choose how much to pay for the trial. Not sure if that's offered to everyone or just because of my answers to the multitude of questions. I've been focusing on the app so much that I haven't been checking my emails. Hopefully there is a discount code waiting for me.
On another note, you mentioned you were in a group. I haven't heard of that yet. Does that start once the trial is finished?
Also, the free app... I haven't heard of that either. Did they mention it after the 16 weeks?
So glad you're enjoying it! I saw the "choose your trial price" thing in my email as well, due to the pandemic, which is pretty cool.
Groups - I heard they've made some tweaks to the program, but I recall getting my group a couple weeks in.
Free app - I'm still using the same app I had during the program, sans the articles and my coach, free of charge.
Most reddit users mentioned getting a 2 week free trial. I was annoyed that Noon wanted me to choose a price for a one week trial so I just abandoned ship. I then received an email, offering a FREE 2 week trial instead. It's kind of annoying but I think Noom tries to test you to see how much $ they can get out of you and starts off high then negotiates down if you walk away. A lot of people on Reddit liked the program but mentioned Noom's shady sales tactic.
I was opting for the $49.00 trial plus $10.00 (option)... before I knew it, I had a subscription... I wanted to try it out not subscribe. Apparently I lost focus after I answered a long list of questions... They said they would send my an app, which they never did. took me a while in chat to find out that I actually had to go to google play and download there... too old for this nonsense... Fat is beautiful
What are your thoughts about weight loss programs like Noom?
Thank you for sharing you experience! I can relate with not being able to out-exercise my eating.
I am currently on vacation facing this very issue😂.. But one thing I gained from Noom is to not be so hard on myself and know that all is not lost - get back on and try again. We can do this!
Just signed up to give it another try. Thanks!
Awesome!
Thank you for sharing!
You're so very welcome!
How did you get a support group? I don't have that on mine
Hi! It's been awhile, but I remember being assigned to a group a couple weeks into the program. It wasn't there immediately.
Thank you for your Noom information. The program seems secretive about how it works until we sign up. Not my style, so info like this is important to me. Thx. 👋🏻
You're so welcome - I totally understand. Budget is very important factor in my decisions. If you want to see this year's pricing, they posted an article this past April. www.noom.com/blog/how-much-does-noom-cost/
@@MacktheMaverick Thank you so much. This is perfect timing. 👋🏻😊
I've been thinking about this. Seen a ton of reviews on CZcams. One of the curiosities is that none of the reviews are by men who've tried it.
That's a good observation. I have seen men in some of the commercials, but certainly not to the same volume as women. I can tell you that there were quite a few men in my group during my course. (The coach for my group was also male.) Whether you Noom or not, I wish you great success on your health journey!
@@MacktheMaverick Thanks!
Between August 16, 2019 and August 18, 2020, BBB received 1,213 consumer complaints regarding Noom, representing a significant uptick in complaint volume over previous years. Since July 2017, Noom has drawn a total of 2,023 complaints.
According to complaints made to BBB, consumers reportedly try to cancel the trial offer before it ends but still end up being billed for the subscription. A number of these consumers said they believed that after the free trial the cost of monthly membership was between $20 and $40. Instead, they discovered that they were charged for several months up front upon the free trial’s end, resulting in alleged charges varying from $120 to $180 or more.
While this was not my experience, I will not discount or invalidate anyone else's experience. I hate to hear that people have had issues such as those filed. Thanks for sharing.
I was always able to cancel (I tried 3 times before I stuck with it). Idk what was so hard for them. I just went to my apple subscriptions and cancelled.
I like her personality
Thank you!
I have had success with intermittent fasting- lost 15 pounds in 2021, but in my 8-hour window I'm eating too much and now I'm stuck....maybe I should try Noom.
I identify with you! My Noom coach recently recommended that I consider intermittent fasting since I do it by accident a lot of days. Lol. I have trouble with breakfast - it's my least favorite meal of the day, so I often skip it....BUT, if I'm not careful, I will get too hungry and overeat the rest of the day. That said, Noom could potentially help you figure out how to make intermittent fasting work for you or play around with other alternatives - with support from a coach and other Noomers! Good luck on your health journey!
I just signed up for the trial… I hope to enjoy it and find a deal
I hope so, too! My mom just started this week and ended up with a very deep discount, so fingers crossed...
@@MacktheMaverick do they offer discounts after your 2 weeks or before? I already like the mental part of Noom.
Mom got hers before; I think I got mine after. I remember doing the survey, not signing up immediately because I couldn't afford it, then getting the discount. I also still get offers to come back now that I've "disconnected."
@@MacktheMaverick awesome thank you so much love
>xcellent video. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
I’m staying within my calorie budget but I’m gaining weight. I wanted to end the program but they gave me 3 months free. It’s very discouraging..
Aw man! Please be encouraged. If you've only been doing it a short time, know that it can take a little while for your body to adjust. I'll also note that there are so many variables that influence weight loss outside of calories, like sleep, stress, hormones, water retention, etc. If you find the gain persistent after a while, you might consider consulting a medical professional to make sure everything is in order. Regardless, I'm rooting for you to achieve your health goals! Thanks for watching!
Oh! I forgot - non-scale victories. When the numbers stopped moving, I started measuring myself periodically, and I did see changes. I also leaned into how I felt (do I have more energy? am I sleeping better?). I know the number is our initial goal, but you may be making progress in other ways ;).
We've gained the exact same amount and it represents the same for me.
It's crazy what your body will reveal about your life story if you listen hard enough.
I have been on Noom for almost three months and have lost a whopping 2 pounds. I have followed it and stayed within my calorie range. It’s not working for me and I’m not impressed.
Aw man. I'm sorry to hear that. I do know that every weight loss plan will not work for everyone. You may have done this already, but if you haven't checked your speed, that may help. If the pounds per week are low, the calorie limit will be higher, resulting in slower loss. Also, after my first year, I noticed a big plateau and then steady gains due to a health issue. (I immediately lost it all after I took care of it.) It may be worth checking in with a doctor just to make sure there aren't other hindrances at play. In any event, Noom or not, I hope you find a solution that works and is sustainable for you. Thanks for stopping by!
God, you're so pretty,
Thank you!
Noom has a great program and concept.
It is, however an absolute sham after about 3 months and the quality of the program faceplants around 1 month after you sign up for the year program.
The coaching, articles and overall experience is great when you start, but an absolute disappointment once you're deep in to it
It's definitely geared toward giving that initial "push" then letting go. Thanks for weighing in on the discussion (no pun intended).
@@MacktheMaverick agreed. It's sad as it is a very good program and has so much long term value (taking the psychology approach to the problem).
Hope they pull their bootstraps up or a competitor comes in to do it right
wow! another person followed. lmfao
