Oh, can I out-nerd the Warp Zone?
Two original works of ASOIAF (Whether that means mainline books, or just stories set in that world):
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, comprising of three original Stories from the Dunk & Egg series, but set in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire:
1. The Hedge Knight

3. The Mystery Knight
The two short stories of The Princess and the Queen, as well as The Rogue Prince, also making up stories from the world of ASOIAF

Fun fact: It would have been illegal for her to write Dumbledore as Gay. She could ONLY reveal him as Gay after the fact.
Since the books were written for children, and were to be published in Britain, her home nation, the books would have been considered unpublishable, under Section 28 of the Local Government Act of 1988, which clearly stated that it was illegal to "Promote Homosexuality to children, or in school".
A popular and protagonist character, such as Dumbledore - the headmaster of a school - being Gay within the text itself, would be a clear violation of this act, and thus the books would not have been legal to print for children, nor would it have legal to have them in schools libraries.
Since the act was only repealed in September 2003, well after the first 5 books were published, it would have been illegal to publish them. And JK Rowling famously had a hard time getting the books published in the first place. If Dumbledore had been written as openly Gay, the books would never have been published.
As a result, JK could only ever have revealed Dumbledore - or anyone else for that matter - as gay after the fact.

1st argument: The show has nothing to do with my books
2nd argument: The show already finished the story so I can't
The show has nothing to do with his books in the sense that they weren't part of the deal. 7 books were, not 8 seasons on a streaming service.
Because the streaming service did finish their series, his works would be at least partially based off of the show, which makes it derivative from the director on the streaming service, making them not wholly his creation, unlike the original 5 books.
The deal was Devil gave George the inspiration to finish 7 original novels.
@@gingerinajacket8519 Nope. According to the terms of the agreement GRRM is now forced to complete the books _wholly_ independent from show, he is not allowed to copy a single sentence since he *has* to complete seven _original_ works.

What kind of eldritch deals these authors have done to ensure their fame and success? I mean, Stephen King must obviously write book once in two years with typewriter bathed in native american blood or he will die.
Stephen King would have 17 books ready for the devil. The man can't stop writing.
see the problem with that is that you think stephen king could stop writing, in truth he screwed over the devil with a deal and now he is forced to write out bestselling stories inspired by the torturous nightmares he's put through every night, non-stop until his fingers turn into bleeding stumps
Better idea: J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas, J. K. Rowling, Stephanie Mayer, Suzanne Collins and Hajime Isayama sold their souls. Stephen King instead had never any need for this.... because he's the Antichrist! (When Satan appears, Stephen reaction: "Dad! I'm busy!")

@@irinipapaioanou4705 GRRM is meticulous, maybe he takes incredibly long but he has a life beyond writing the books, he has to pay attention to every detail, make sure he doesn't write in inconsistencies huge or small to get the quality we demand, on top of that writing original or interesting dialogue is difficult, with GRRM everything has to be top tier quality, though the fact he feels he needs to out do himself in each book is to our detriment in waiting but to our benefit once released.

@@phoenicianprince4635 it’s more that he’s doing so many writing projects beyond the books. It’s only to your benefit he takes his time if he releases them at all. Given his age, seems unlikely. Many collaborators of his have also said they wouldn’t finish the books based on his notes if he dies before they’re done.

What really happened is now that the devil is no longer obliged to make Game of Thrones a phenomenal success, he made a new deal with the showrunners. They turned season 8 into total crap, and they got in charge of the new Star Wars movies. Now Martin will be forced to write the two final books to correct the mess D&D made or live in a world where his fans are totally disappointed by GoT's ending. Pride is the devil's favorite sin...
