A lot of characters in this game series were freed from there usual stories in the series. It feels like a true fresh start that doesn't retread the original stories

They were crafted to live a life that is unworthed and pointless. Shang Tsung lives as Small Merchant barely making any living and Quan Chi is rotting in the Mines.
Liu Kang should have gave them a live that they would not Forrsake for Evil. Like for example, give them a decent Family. Or a life full of passion than Evil.

My only complaint is that this ending has more to do with Li Mei than Tanya herself.
The point is that Tanya says she’s now the Umgadi leader and that she’s telling us what happened with Li Mei
So she's a good guy now. Sweet. And she went detective and found the true culprits of jerrod's murder.

It's likely that Jade killed Jerrod and the Matrons loyal to her never revealed her deception, not her secret correspondence to General Shao. They used Li Mei to throw everyone off her trail.
I would really love to get some more information about how Li Mei was used as a scapegoat; as in how that all went down, and more importantly why Li Mei didn’t speak up to retain her relationship with Sindel which she mentioned was her closest friend. If it wasn’t her fault then why didn’t she speak up??
Probably because the Matrons banded against Li Mei which made it look liked they were telling the truth. Of course if there are people against you, many to one, they'd believe the former because it's backed up and it's just you with no one.
She probably did, but there wasn't enough evidence to prove her statement. Therefore, finding her guilty of letting her gaurd down on Jerrod. Thanks to the matrons forging the evidence or whatnot.

I think it would’ve been more interesting if it had been hinted at that Tanya did orchestrate Jerrod’s murder. It would’ve made sense. Oust Li Mei and get close to Sindel and Mileena in order to work her way towards the throne.
Like imagine we get another MK4 esque reveal where we only learn Tanya is evil after the main story is done and through a singular ending?? It would have been even more perfect given that Ermac wants to say who Jerrod’s murderer is only for the “there’s no time now” excuse in the main story.
With Jade likely being DLC and Kitana and Tanya basically both being Mileena’s Jade in this timeline, I have no clue what they will do with Jade’s storyline.
I hate how NRS stories basically have to have obvious villains. Having a discreet villain would have been a great way to set up a continuing storyline and the set up with Tanya was right there but instead we just get some rando supposedly having killed Jerrod and everything is fine now??

Not Gonna Lie out of all the Characters in this Roster, Tanya is the One I despise the most, this Crippled Version on the Seductive and Traitorous Deceiver is the Complete Opposite of this Beloved Character, this Retcon was a Big Mistake and she could have cheated her way out of the Umgari and tricked everyone that Li Mei was responsible to Jerrod’s Death.
That would be kinda the same story than before..

The one in the front, left side of screen at the end of the clip looks more like Tanya than "Tanya" does.
Jade has always been the black warrior, while Tanya was always the cunning dark skinned politician. But apparently, it's not equalitarian enough to have a dark skinned woman involved in politics, writing her arc to be that of someone who struggles with some dark temptations while trying to maintain some integrity. Nope ! EVERY female heroine has to be a honorable warrior.
i'd prefer having tanya being an honorable warrior than being a traitor for the 100th time in the series.
