This conclusion to Johnny's story is almost perfect. Going from playing a part in a story to actually telling those stories himself, rather than risk becoming a washed up actor

I think it would be interesting for him to not have a love life or have someone different, because while yeah Sonya is in the game, she's a cameo fighter, and aside from like one or two characters all of the side characters are not in the story, so either some of them come back in mk2, or johnny just might not have Sonya in this new time

I like how this implies that not only did Liu Kang set through his whole sales pitch on the multitude of games and movies of a deadly tournament.
But also the fact he SOMEHOW convinced Empress Mileena, Princess Kitana and a bunch of Umgandi to make the ROYAL PALACE his movie/tvshow set.
And SOMEHOW the Royal family is like: Sure why not. And they actually look like they're having fun?
Now Kitana's intro line about his film crew sneaking around Outworld makes sense
I think there's one pre-match banter between Kitana and Johnny where the former is amazed by movies.
Well, there's an intro with Mileena where she's regretting accepting the idea.
Best part is that I deadass see not only Goro auditioning but becoming an outright protag in one of those films.

You know, this feels alot like the 1992 arcade ending, but in much greater detail, back then i though Johnny didnt learn much and only make use of his journey in the tournament as a means to stoke his superstar carreer.
But this version, i guess my answer is cleared.

From what I watched, the '92 arcade ending feels like he's just a greedy gloryhound.
Him making the Mortal Kombat fictional universe to get Earthrealmers slowly used to the concept of the other realms and retelling his adventures there as part of Liu Kang's champions is wholesome AF.
I would totally sign up to watch a cinematic adaptation of MK1, complete with choreographed fights that go back and forth and are reflective of each Kombatant's fighting style.

I have to compliment Liu Kang's absolutely BRILLIANT idea of telling the world the truth via movies made by Johnny, so as to make it for the inevitable reveal that its all real less impactful, like what happened in his world when Shao Khan brutally invaded and changed the world forever.
Might just be the most meta ending. I love it.

What I love is, almost, if not all, the endings in MK1 and the intros imply that they are all canon, so to imagine that Liu Kang really did just sit through this entire sales pitch by Johnny into getting the world to actually learn about the world in the most modern day way possibly, and agreeing to it, is the funniest thing ever.
Also, I think that those aren't really the MK cast in the end, just actors, because there is no way in hell I believe Raiden would agree to this.
I was thinking the same thing until I saw the writing on the chair that Mileena sits in, it reads the empress.
and what I know about Hollywood celebrities is that they usually put their name or title on their chair so no one takes it or sits on it while they're busy shooting a scene.
I Like this version of Johnny Cage he's a lot like the one from the 90's movie. No tatoo on his chest or over the top flamboyant attitude he's just comically charismatic and still professional at his job despite struggling.

This Johnny Cage is probably thinking like Lui Kang, the long game. Johnny knows that something will not go to plan, and if the "Mortal Kombat Cinematic universe" is proven to be real, the public will have a primer on what's going on. If he can have fun making movies, that is a sacrifice he is willing to make.

There might be a way to save Mortal Kombat story overall. The fan theory that the nether round timeline games are just movies Johnny made and pick pick up after Armageddon, that will be wonderful to see.

And then it was bought by Disney and hired Mindy Kaling, the writer of HBO Velma...
What happened next was a tragedy forcing Liu Kang to reset the timeline.
People got upset when they removed the fatalities and Batman is in it for some reason
I'd rather Havik destroy the timeline than suffer through a modern Disney MK timeline.

At first I was thinking at the end those were all just actors dressed as the real people, then I saw Mileena’s chair says “EMPRESS” lol. Although Raiden and Kenshi did turn it down already (and that Kenshi is holding a tablet), so who knows maybe they’re all actors besides Mileena or just the earthrealm guys are actors.
I think those are actors. I only see the actual people be more as guides or somebody to help coach the actors in how to be more like them. Which isn't anything new because several people are hired to help explain how to do things like how to use certain tools the character would use. Besides I'm having a hard time believing Mileena can find the time to do that with everything else going on in her life during the arcade endings time period.

Plot twist: every game in the series was made by johnny cage
I think Johnny is already married in the game. So maybe Cassie will be there in the future of the New Era, but I don't know if Sonya will be part of his life. Especially how she was almost never around for Cassie growing up in the previous timeline.
There's a scene where he separates with his wife, and some of his intro banter is him talking about his divorce.
All we know is that it suggests that Sonya won't hook up with Johnny. Which could be partially because he is no longer associated with the OIA/Special Forces like he was before. But I could see him marrying somebody but I think it would be somebody more closer related to him like an actress or somebody within his newly found company. Which in many ways works better for Cassie Cage because then she would only take after Johnny. Which she always felt more like a female Johnny instead of a mix of Johnny and Sonya
This gotta be canon in the mk1 story aftermath
This also feels like it separates Johnny from both the White Lotus and Special Forces which makes me think he will end up creating his own faction. Made up of people like Mokap and maybe a few actors turned heroes. One suggestion I have is that guy from MK1 (original) that was a version of Liu Kang (I forget his name). His story could be that he is the actor Johnny hired to play Liu Kang and with help with some hidden pyrotechnics can use fire. He would be a Physical/Fire type and he would be a good way to give us a character that fights like how Liu Kang use to fight since he is no longer fighting that way.
