For the first time in MK history, the Ladder/Tower endings aren't 'What Ifs'. They are all canonical to the main storyline and serve as epilogues. I love every bit of them. Excellent writing this time. Kudos.

I love that in no matter what timeline, Sektor just thinks robots are cool and just waits for the grandmaster to suddenly need robots for some reason.
Well in nearly all iterations of the multiverse like in Marvel, some characters are just destined to gravitate towards a certain concept or idea, every time. In short, Sektor will always have a robot fetlsh lol

It's so good how most of the endings actually seem to fit in with the main story. This is probably the most well done arcade endings have ever been in any fighting game ever.

The new timeline reset to 0 really help clear the gutter, the main problem with Mk9-Mk11 was that it rewind of the Original Mk lore and timeline, which with new and different writers, they got a lot of shit wrong and just made comeplete mess with recons and new lore that made no sense

Honestly the justice this game did for characters like baraka, li mei, Mileena ashrah and reptile can’t be understated. They took jobbers and forgotten characters and expanded upon them in well written ways. I’ve always been very critical of neatherrelm’s writing in the past but I can’t deny that this game blew me away.
I'm just glad Sindel is finally getting treated properly, same for Mileena and Kenshi.

Kung Lao references Kung Jin in one of his pre fight dialogues with Kenshi so he at least has been born in the new world.
I’m sure Liu Kang didn’t intentionally omit the kombat kids considering the lengths he’s gone to into making a better timeline, but like said above they’re either too young right now or haven’t been born yet. If they even get born under the same circumstances, Liu Kang can’t control free will afterall.
This is some GOOD shit. Not only does it all fit together beautifully, but there are SO many plot hooks for future expansions and games. Whoever wrote this game is really good.

The fact that Onaga was trapped this entire time means that Shujinko having his powers was not done by Onaga, but by Liu Kang when he crafted the timeline. I think that goes to show he saw the potential Shujinko had to use his powers to become Earthrealms' greatest projector if his ego was tempered and channeled in the right direction. He only turned out as bad as he did before because he spent a lifetime having his ego fed by Damashi.

Theirs still hope for shujinko, he turned out bad thanks to kung Laos lack of humility and maturity, so lui kang erased his memories to start over, for them to start again, for shujinko to be the warrior we knew before, minus Onaga deceiving him of course

@@chaoticspider836 not all kameos are canon, characters like Stryker, frost, sektor and cyrax aren’t in the story mode so they could do whatever with shujinko since he wouldn’t be in the main story

Honestly it's a retelling of, well, Mortal Kombat 1's Cage ending. The real first one. He went on to retell his experience at the tournament in movies. It's a callback reboot.
I had feeling that Johnny will be the next in line to replace Liu Kang. As said in the story Liu Kang is searching for a new protector of Earthrealm.
@@mengsRS When Johnny had the option to use the hour glass, he merely used it to live the life he knows, and save Sonya Blade. He's... grown. He knows he's going to make mistakes, but those mistakes will make him into an amazing person. And he only used the hourglass to save a person, so he can have his happy ending.
As for the new protector... it's up in the air. With the timeline/multiverse stuff going on, anything is possible now. Cage is busy doing Hollywood but also saving the world. I don't see him being a full on protector like that.

While not perfect and not known in-universe, the fact that Kuai Liang, Harumi, and Smoke created the Shirai Ryu and took in Hanzo is very sweet and oddly full-circle.
Sadly tho, kuai liang and harumi will not survive if hanzo were to be destined to be the vengeful scorpion

This all endings will lead us to the next chapter of MK. Bro, I loved Mileena's ending. She helped Baraka's people and build a new home. A very good and perfectly well ending for all characters! NRS nailed this one super good!

I like the fact that not only does it seem like all these endings coexist with each other compared to what we've previously seen from MK and Injustice, but almost all of them involve a happy ending (not only for them but for all of people around them) or at least a redemption arc through which the character aims to achieve their happy ending. Not just some tragedy or "the fight still goes on" stuff.
What’s cool about geras’s ending is that in this scene 3:33 you can actually see one timeline being the Mortal Kombat X we know as it shows the MKX Cassie cage
And the timeline in the bottom right is the original one. Shao Kahn on top of the Pyramid of Argus.
The other on top of the alternate timeline is Liu Kang’s New Era from his ending.
Seeing Geras in the Chair 💺 looking over all the timeliness is wonderful and glad he was redeemed as well got his full potential
One of the things I love of this gane is that almost every arcade ending is canon, meaning that characters can be finally happy on their own.

The one with Kenshi is after Shang since it will make sense for him to be free and later get intro the island, more likely he wants Sento since it has the feature of keeping souls like it did to Ermac, he was strike with it and lost some of them so Shang wants to study the weapon.
Technically with the split timelines thing, it makes MK11's endings all canon as well and not just Liu Kang's
Shang Tsuns ending happens before Kenshi's ending, and Shao Khans before Reiko's the video didn't do them in order I don't think.@@roykennedy

The fact that Kuai Liang stole Hanzos wife and now Hanzo is a kid training under them. Did him dirty 😢
They easly could change Harumi name and use this name for Kuai's and his Wife child, then they could just show that Hanzo and Harumi meets as teenagers when Hasashi was "adopted" into Shirai Ryu. It would connect smoothly. It would then make sense that he would inherit his "father" powers and style of fighting as next Grandmaster/Scorpion. Unless theres Another Harumi, i feel like they missed a opportunity.
At least Titan Scorpion received his happy ending, fighting side by side with Harumi
Not really scorpion went from living one of the hardest lives to resetting to actually having one with a new fate of becoming more than a revenant.. escaping the fate of becoming a vengeful spirit eternally wanting his family that he could not have

I like how all the endings fit in together. It is just showing what happened to each character after the events of the story, without cancelling anything out. They could (and should, IMO) all be canon as we go into the next game.

Sub-Zero’s ending casting Sektor as some genius mad scientist really makes me wanna see him show up at some point. Maybe Cyrax be his close friend and ally who eventually has a falling out. We’ll see.
I can definitely see Sektor betraying Sub Zero and maybe Cyrax sticking with Sub Zero.
As a Cyrax and Sub Zero fan, personally I want Cyrax to have his own story for once and not be bound to Sektor. I do think it would be nice for Sektor to go mad with his inventions and make the Tekunin forcibly turining Lin Kuei into them with Cyrax being semi turned for Sub Zero to rescue him. I think that would cause a three way split between the Shirai Ryu, Lin Keui(Sub Zero/Cyrax), and the Sektor

For the main story to center around timelines and the multiverse, it’s quite refreshing to see that these endings are down-to-earth. The simplicity is akin to the early MK games endings.
It still takes me out too much that they gave Tanya the role of Jade. Jade was perfect for that ending.

I like how these endings follow through on the character's role in the actual story, contrasting the usual 'what if' nature before. It's nice to see how they accomodate muses and loose ends.
Technically all the mk11 endings are also canon now thanks to the story mode endings proving that already

It's a first in the series that all endings are canon and a continuation for the characters. Definitely an amazing idea since the story mode was rushed and does little setup for MK13. It's giving me 3D era-tier intertwined storytelling and foreshadowing.

Baraka had a wife and children in this time line also Mileena is gay in this timeline. It was shown in the story mode with the comment that Kitana said with Mileena being too "friendly" with Tanya which Mileena said if she knows? And Kitana said in the lines that it's obvious but people would start asking questions.

They managed to make the Scorpion / Subzero rivalry feel fresh and genuine... truthfully hats off to their story tellers for that alone.

This is the first time that all of the arcade endings could easily be canon. Like, they all fit the story, fit each other perfectly, and none of them is over the top.
Li Mei has the most relatable ending
I liked what they did with Kuai Liang and Tomas a lot here. Adding both Harumi and Hanzo was not expected, but it’s great they’re still getting a lot of stuff from Scorpion and spreading it around a little bit. I imagine Hanzo could be Satoshi’s mentor and figure too.
What is this? This is not the crazy all over the place endings of the Mortal Kombat series I was expecting. This is... so much better and cohesive than before. The endings seem to hint at what to expect for the next game, sequel, etc. Then there is the fact that this new era really is living up to its name. Wow... I'm floored, but in a good way. I'm smiling for the Reptile, Mileena, and Smoke's endings the most. Really looking forward to Scropion's development and Kenshi's too. Wow, amazingly done.

this is so good, they made characters justice, rain and tanya, known for being the biggest backstabbers ever, got to know honor and guilt, specially for rain, he had everything but got swayed, but he saw how wrong he was not only for the betrayal, but for running from its consequences, overall i loved every singe ending
This is probably the first time ever that Rain shows regret for what he has done. Now he seeks redemption? Ok, bring it on. I'm a total sucker for redemption arcs. ❤❤❤
What I like about these endings is not only are they basically canon, they are also not entirely the end. They leave the windows open for the future.
This is the best-done, most consistent and promising series of arcade mode endings that I've ever seen. They did it. They really did it.

They are canon, in fact theyre tied together.
Kronika is confirmed dead and erased from existence in the story mode which spoilers. It was the original Shang Tsung disguised as her which it turns out from the last game being MK 11 when it did the Aftermath DLC where you can choose either Liu Kang wins over the hour glass or Shang Tsung.
Which it's explained those endings mattered since it gave birth to different timelines and having multiple people have control of the hour glass. Also all these ending are confirmed to be canon since after Liu Kang stopped his Shang Tsung from his previous timeline and stopped another Armageddon destroying the multiverse of mortal Kombat that everything is set to order.
MK1 entire story made MK11's arcade endings all canon cuz it turned into multiple different timelines

I like how these endings were done. I wonder by seeing some of the Kameos featured in these endings, if we will get them in the main roster later down the road like DLC as Sareena and Darrius had the most appearances in the story

I honestly like baraka in this he’s a man just looking for better help for his people and is respectful and thankful to those who help him, baraka is tarkatan you know you can trust and I think he should be showed more like this. I just said halo and now I’m saying goodbye.

Oohhh so now Bihan is Ice, Kuai Liang is Fire, there is conflict in game then they separate. Kuai Liang make the Shirai Ryu in the new timeline and Hanzo is the first initiate poggies.
Note that I still can't get over that they keep the false pronunciation for Shirai Ryu, I thought with the new game they will correct how to say it.
Wow. All the ending do fit with the story mode.
I really like these endings, they canonically explore each character's aftermath following the main story, surely they couldn't cover every character's personal path in story mode, but this is a really smart and interesting way to give each of them the attention they deserve. Characters like Reptile or Baraka who have been in 80% of the franchise but were mostly regarded as forgettable story-wise, MK1 brought a lot of justice to many similar faces, this game's writing is my most favorite so far
