    Thank you for taking the time to compare the different scroll saws. I have the Dewalt DW788 but had it properly serviced and adjusted so that it stays up. You are a very talented scroll saw artist. Keep the videos coming.

    Very educational video. I've had four scroll saws & never used them as much as I could. My current saw is a 16" Shop Fox & it has been the best one for my limited uses. An upgrade would push me to use one more often.

    As always another informative video. I started with a porter cable scroll saw and upgraded to a dewalt 788. What a big difference.

    @ArtisanPirate My wife and I recently found your channel. We have been watching your videos for a while and really enjoy the content. You are inspirational to me for a number of reasons and its cool seeing the art you create. I have been lugging around a vintage Walker Turner scroll saw for many years now. Watching your vids has motivated me to bring it back to life and create with it. I appreciate how you document everything well so very good job. I hope to create some cool things too soon and look forward to your next video. Peace!

    Another great Video Pirate. Can I suggest a similar video addressing the different types of blades and when to use the correct one? I see when you sand, you mostly use a palm sander. My internal cuts tend to need more detail sanding in the small cut outs and it takes me forever to sand. Keep up the great work!

      thanks! And I do have a video talking about scroll saw blades and their uses, its an older video here on the channel, my number 5 blades always do me good!

    Great video very informative I was convince that I would take the next step with a Delta since you have always said how good they are but now with your new RIKON with all the cool features that the scroll saw has seems to be a better choice. Regardless I can't wait to see all your new projects with the new RIKON.

    • @ArtisanPirate
      @ArtisanPirate  Před měsícem +1

      Thank You For The Kind Words! I still have my Delta in the shop but, I have some really neat projects in the works on the new Rikon saw

    I have a 30" Pegas that I purchased 2 months ago. The only negative is that the tension knob is so far away. I have to get up out of my seat to adjust (if needed). There are some times I want to change the tension when I start on a piece. Not a major issue, but just a change in workflow.

    • @ArtisanPirate
      @ArtisanPirate  Před 2 měsíci

      Yea, I can see how that would be to far to reach from the front of the scroll saw but, from the few times I have done demos on the Pegus, it seems to retain tension very well

    • @TheSawdustChronicles
      @TheSawdustChronicles Před 2 měsíci

      @@ArtisanPirate - Yes, it does tension, well and holds. But there are a few times, I wanted to tighten a little because of the type of cut/wood mid cut as I wanted the blade to behave a little differently.

  • @wichitablundell137
    @wichitablundell137 Před 2 měsíci +1

    That first saw uses 3 inch pined blades, Pegas still makes these blades, as well as Olsen and Vermont American. :)

    What an interesting video. My first scroll saw was a craftsman. Are you going to put the Pegas blade clamps on the Rikon? Thanks for an other great video.

    • @ArtisanPirate
      @ArtisanPirate  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank You! And as of now, Pegus does not make clamps for the Rikon scroll saw, hopefully they will in the future

    Another great video AP! One question. Does the Rikon Scrollsaw have an aggressive cut like the Delta? Or which has the least aggressive cut? Also, is there a Visio that you used to take the Delta apart to lube all the bearings and arms? Thanks for all of the information, tips, tricks, and examples! Keep up the outstanding content!

    • @ArtisanPirate
      @ArtisanPirate  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank You! And ALL scroll saws in my opinion have a slight aggressive cut, it's just taking the time to tinker with them and getting them all dialed in. And no, I dont have a video where I tear down my delta scroll saw, but, the video I followed (was a DeWalt saw) is a Matt Hass video on Awesome Wood Things
