I want to make my own cabinet, but I'm LOST on buttons. I'm used to the old arcade buttons... concave and no clicky sound. I have NO idea what brands or whoever makes those still. Bonus points if someone's making those in LED. Any ideas?

I was able to pick one of these up at Walmart today (12-3-19) for one of my 9 year old son’s Christmas gifts, for only $199.00. This reassures me that he’s going to love it. They also have the Mortal Kombat 3/4 scale units for $199, but since he’s only in the 4th grade I figure Street Fighter is better for him. Thanks again!

One of the easiest and most cost effective arcade1up cabinets to do would be a red SNK NEO GEO MVS cabinet. You dont have to do just one either. They could release collection cabinets, ie you could do a metal slug cabinet, kof cabinet, fatal fury cabinet, samurai shodown (spirits) cabinet, aero fighters cabinet, etc. If you really want to grab the SNK fan's attention, create one called "SNK ARCADE CLASSICS VOL 2," and put about 20 legendary mvs games on there

This reminds me a lot of the 3/4 scale pinball machines that Zizzle made a little over 10 years ago for Pirates of the Caribbean and Marvel - a bit of a curiosity, but more of a really nice toy than a substitute for a cabinet.

Hi, I bought the arcade 1 up asteroids version on eBay for $137.00 with $32.00 shipping for a total of $169.00 brand new. I really like my game but took me about 2 1/2 hours to put together and had a lot of problems with the brackets that hold the screen on. I’m very happy with the game although was hard for me to put mine together because I’m in a wheelchair and I did it by myself but was still doable. Mine needs to be a little bit higher but not put on the riser system more like a couple of 2x6’s but very happy with the game, it plays excellent just like the one did in late 70’s early 80’s

I would seriously consider purchasing one of these if they were 18-24 inches taller. I have a refurbished 6ft ms pac-man machine with a MAME board in it. A 4ft cabinet with the control panel 2ft from the ground would look ridiculous next to it. If you're gonna try to recreate the arcade experience... machines have to be standard size. Make 6ft cabinets & charge another $50. You'll sell many more of these.

Thank you for making these videos. I was gonna hold off on buying my own until I knew I could stick a Pandoras Box. But it looks like it's time to buy.. or wait until they go on clearance, or everything is selling them at their garage sales next summer

I’m thinking about getting the pac-man cabinet. The only thing I’ll say about the street fighter one is that the sticks seem too close together for 2 players. Other than that it seems like a well made cab

They should have just made this cab a single player. Too cramped for 2 adults or teens. But the masses probably wouldve complained about that too. Great video Dr. Claw (lol) cant wait to see you mod this thing so i can then order one

well ETA, first hand, for me, I can tell you this would work. being in a wheelchair I couldn't reach all the buttons on a regular arcade cabinet, I was always left out reduced to watching others have all the fun and enjoyment and it really sucked.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to future modding videos. I enjoy my centipede cab a lot. I haven’t gotten into tempest much yet because the dial sucks. But I ordered a SpinTrak spinner which I’m hoping will easily drop in. Tempest was the entire reason I bought these. As for height, I had two risers built today with a 14.25” lift and that puts them right in line with my converted Tempest->Snow Bros. cab which is right on with my MVS on the other side of the room.
I agree these aren’t as high quality as OG hardware and there are definitely issues, but I’m happy with my two (I’ll enjoy the Asteroids cabinet a LOT more if the SpinTrak spinner works out). I’ll likely buy more as they put out more titles I like. Being able to get them from GameStop (where I can accumulate tons of trade credit) will certainly help.
All in all I think $300 is fair for these. Greatest deal ever? No. Highest quality? No. Acceptable quality (for the most part) and FUN? Yup.

Pulling off a shuryuken I felt it was border line impossible with these sticks. They are too loose. The 1up in my opinion is more functional for true retro games like Gauntlet. Rampage. Galaga. Etc. Basically where only up down side to side is necessary.

I've heard Super and Super Turbo have "missing" audio because there is only one speaker but the roms are set to stereo (with no way to change)? Kind of unforgivable if this is accurate. One speaker by itself isn't, but one speaker with messed up audio settings is.

Is there a way to replace the audio. Also any bat sticks u can recommend that would work in this cabinet. That would plug into this board in using with the Arcade1up not the retropie.
