We just came back from spending1 week for Christmas in Merida. Restaurants were great. We tried Chaya Maya and loved the Chaya drink and all the flavors of our dishes were terrific. Cuna Merida was a bit of a high end restaurant but we loved the ambiance and desserts. You need to try Tinoc Cafe for breakfast; small, great staff, but the flavors of each dish was amazing! Another restaurant that our family liked a lot was Chuc; they bill themselves as authentic Yucateca food.
We also spent a day at Progreso beach, a day at Chechin Itza, and a day traveling through some indigenous Mayan towns. Great trip!
What a fun trip! Thanks for all the additional recommendations 😊
Nabil Montejo, Oliva norte location, Little India, Thai Thai, Artemia (has the best chilaquiles), Cuna, and many more.. Museo Gastro Yucateca was a favorite of ours downtown though ! The sopa de lima and panuchos are fire !!
Thank you for all the additional recommendations these sound amazing and I love that they’re not all Mexican food too for some variety. I will have to check out the chilaquiles for sure 😊
We loved the Museo de Gastronomia Yucateca - we went around 4-5pm and stayed each time around 2 hrs - the sun was gorgeous in the inner yard - a beautiful experience, almost mystical. Food very good too, bathrooms very clean, we loved it!
We also loved Crabster I think at Paseo 60 - my son loves seafood and he had a full octopus which he said was the best of his life. I had salmon and it was exquisite. For 3 seafood full meals and desert and mojito for me (and juices for my teenage kids) we paid almost $40 including tip...this was Nov 2019 though
Museo de Gastronomía Yucateca was so delicious and such a pretty spot as well. I’m not a fan of seafood (hence no seafood in the video 🫣), but we’ll need to check out Paseo 60. It looks like a fun place. So much good food in Merida and at such good prices. Thanks for sharing!
Check out La Negrita & Dzalbay Cantina, Flamante burger too
Great to know. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thank y'all
You’re very welcome! 😊
Mi merida!!!
Merida es hermosa
@@AnyoneCanTravel gracias ias por visitarla, mucho 🙌 exito
Can you find a lot of fresh produce or vegetables in Merida? (Salads)All the bread 🥖 can’t be healthy every day! I enjoyed your video, the food does look delicious. I’m just health conscious. 😊✌🏻
There are lots of fruits and vegetables in the markets! Not really salads though. There was a salad place at Mercado 60. If you’re looking for salads sit down restaurants will be your best bet. Salads aren’t really market or street food in Mexico. You always could do tacos instead of a torta. Corn tortillas are more calorie conscious so tacos and fruit from the markets could be a good option. Thanks!
Everything looks so good!! If you could pick a favorite out of all the price ranges, which would you pick?
Definitely a tough choice but probably Chilakilez, but Taqueria La Tia and Museo Gastronómico Yucateco would be tied at a close second.
Y’all skipped the cochinita at manjar blanco? Yikes, it’s the best in the city imo
We did get cochinita at manjar blanco! It was on two of the panuchos. We ordered cochinita at every place we ate pretty much 😂 honestly cochinita was delicious everywhere we ate it. Without doing a side by side test I don’t think I could pick the “best”. Not in Merida but my favorite was probably el tigrillo in Valladolid!
Great content!
Thank you!
