How to Make Puerto Rican Mallorca Bread Recipe - Receta de Cómo Hacer Pan de Mallorca Puertorriqueño
Mollorca is a sweet bread from Puerto Rico. Very fluffy and sweet, ideal to accompany a cup of coffee or chocolate. It is so delicious and delicate that it is hard to believe how easy it is to make.
*Mallorca es un pan dulce de Puerto Rico. Es bien esponjoso y dulce, ideal para acompañar una taza de café o chocolate. Es tan delicioso que es difícil creer lo fácil que es de hacer.
Ingredients - *Ingredientes
5 to 6 cups all purpose flour and more for dusting - *5 a 6 tazas de harina de trigo y un poco más para rociar
2-1/2 teaspoon dry rapid-rise yeast - *2-1/2 cucharaditas de levadura seca instantánea
¾ cups granulated sugar - * ¾ taza de azúcar granulada
1 cup whole milk - *1 taza de leche

In Mallorca this pastry is known as "ensaimada", there the recipe is more or less the same but with "saïm" (lard) and sometimes it has inside it creme, a pumpkin jam called "angel's hair", or a sausage made into a spread named "sobrassada" that last one is a must if you go to the Balearic Islands.
