It’s needs to be priced as $50 dollar camera and they should just make money on the accessories and turn it into a retro vibe fun type of fashion trend camera whatever that is.
The $50 price point would be a great lure, I just found out they released an 18mp update so perhaps this one will see some price reduction. The new one is $130 and before I get my hands on it I can imagine it may suffer from some of the same problems. But I will do an update vid when I get my hands on one…
It should be that and the accessories should actually be half the price they're at they're selling a 32gb micro SD card for £10 they're worth like what £4, they're selling literal cardboard cases for £25, they're selling phone lens attachments at £20
Great review! I've been curious about it and I appreciate the honesty. Especially about the viewfinder and focal length
Finally a review of the "view finder" and "focal length"! Haha. Was wondering how far you're supposed to stand from the subject ro frame it properly. Thanks for this!
I strive to make honest and thorough reviews (or as thorough as I can think to be) so glad this helped you!
and very nice touch on the "quotes" it made me smile.
I just bought it and am so frustrated about this. I like the idea but it throws I’m composition off. ALSO, the “flash” totally covers what works as the view finder here!
Thanks for the review and honesty ! I think you convinced me not to purchase it for now.
The honesty is always authentic and free, from me at least. Glad I could help!
Same! I think it is adorable...but I just don't need it.
Whatever you do next, I’ll be here for it. Love your videos.
That means the world to me, thank you 🙏
They have different lenses for different perspectives. The eco friendly part of it is the best! Same cost as about 4-5 disposable cameras without the waste. Love the film grainy look!!!
Is it chargeable? Can you change the battery?
@@hyscharaif you want rechargeable AA.
Yeah I take photos with my phone so it produces literally zero waste, evo friendliness is as always marketing bullshit.
Thanks for the honest review! I just bought one and was looking for tips and more reviews about it because I missed shooting pictures for fun! The view finder tip I will definitely keep in mind!
Just saw an ad for this but thank you for mentioning the viewfinder issues! I have a few film cameras that I can’t give up. My favorite is my BRICK Argus C3 it’s a gorgeous camera and I can control everything! For $130 I’d rather get a lomography for the full FUN effect
The one advantage over my android phone is, ironically enough, that the viewfinder for framing a shot can be handy when outside, where the screen of the phone can be difficult to view in bright sunlight.
Now only if it cost the $25 I initially thought it cost, I'd be easily a new customer. ☺
Good review. Thanks
Thank you Larry!!! You just saved me some money!!! All the best to you!!
Been seing this papershoot camera on tiktok and they never mention the viewfinder/framing problem. Great video! 😊
It's drastic! The videos I saw said oh just frame a little higher than you think, but it's also distance too. My shadow wasn't in any of the compositions I thought I was making, but it was pretty much in every photo when the sun was behind me. It's quite a difference.
thanks for the honest review! looking forward to see more of your other reviews 😊
More on the way!
I love this honest review! It really helps to manage my expectations and how to handle the camera. Funnily enough this makes me wanna buy it
Love the review, definitely helped me make up my mind on purchasing it. Like the idea of using it on layovers as I’m a flight attendant and don’t always carry my phone with me.
Why don't you carry your phone with you? Is that a flight attendant thing?
You're so charismatic man! Great video
Thank you Luiz! More on the way once I get back to california! But thank you for the support and encouragement.
One thing to note, the "paper" shell isn't made of normal paper, its made of stone paper. Pressed and sealed limestone, and should hold up pretty good.
Fun video man! Never knew this type of camera even existed! 😅
I’m going to do one more photowalk with it and see knowing what I know now, if I can get really good results.
I will.like to see a video test with this camera to see if it looks retro as the picutrs
This is a good thing to gift and for kids. Nothing else.
Omg! Would love to see another video now that it's not a first impression and more of a review 🤍 alsoo they released a new one this novemeber that's 18mp and it'd be cool to see a comparison review for that as well 😁
Well I better go check that out, because I literally asked for a version two :) Thank you for the tip!
@@PhotoMeLarry cant wait to see what you think!!
I'm also curious to see what you think of the newer version!
@@digicamcat I should have it before the month is out. :)
=)))) Bro thank you very much for your work. Im about to buy it and i really need a review like yours ❤
You helped me a lot! Thank u
Its the bars at the end for me. Lol. As intriguing as this camera is, you said it best that a v2 with some improvements might be the one.
Oh wow, I didn't realize that it was 130 dollars. It sounds like you'd be taking a lot of photos that you'd have to make a lot of editing to get the shot you thought you took. Plus, I'm a purist and would rather have the Polaroid experience if I got that.
Awesome review.
Thank you! I’d say you’ll 100% love it if you got it as a gift and are into photography. If you have to buy it yourself then I double stand by everything said :)
I am so tempted by one of these for the gimmik
I think they’re nifty, so long as you know the caveats it’s easy to have fun with it. People ask about it when you use it too btw. “What kind of camera is that??” I got a lot 😂
@PhotoMeLarry I shoot with so many different cameras I get asked that a ton lol. Then I shoot with vintage lenses and get even more questions. Something about this is how it would make you think about the shots you take.
I just bought one and I paid 20.00 for it. I do not believe it is a 120.00 value. At 20.00 it is a value, even 60.00 is a value, but for 120.00 you can buy a good/decent digital camera. The pictures are pretty good providing your lighting is good. I do like it as it snaps pics like a 35mm camera, but with the convenience of a digital format is where it stands out. Great review/introduction. Your honesty is greatly appreciated. This gentleman has highlighted a number of key point regarding the camera, If your going for the 35mm look this is it, but at a cost. The delay between shutter press and actual photo is significant enough that you will miss many shots.
How did you pay 20 dollars for this one?
@@KukrejaAnamika I have a first generation 8MP version. A cobranded (company+Papershoot) version that did not sell. A few years old, brand new, but still pretty good.
@@pandrews01 could you share the link to purchase it somewhere?
Its made out of stone paper so i think its meant to be slightly water resistant
how do they work like films??? that's really interesting
Is this the 16mo or 18mp?
Hello! How would you recommend protecting the papershoot camera from sweat etc.?
To be honest, if you're just taking one picture here and there you should be ok.
But if you feel like sweat will be a repeated issue (because you're taking many pictures in a short period of time). I'd wipe my face first. I feel like that's the obvious first step. But since this camera has interchangeable skins, I wouldn't be upset if someone applied/glued plastic, or laminate to the face-touching side of the camera. This may be going a little far, but honestly wiping your face probably will do the trick just fine. I believe only a small part of your cheek and maybe a part your nose touches.
I have a digital camera you have to put together to I believe it's called The Big Red it's rechargeable you can crank charge it which is ridiculous how long it takes it's easier just to plug it in and charge it but it has a couple camera shots it has the same issues as this camera where you have to be still with it but it's fun to mess with it takes a decent amount of photos before you need to plug it 8n and download it and I think of the time I bought that one it was under 100 00 I don't know if they still make it or people still have ones to sell of it but it was interesting to put it together back side of its transparent the crank power features like the last minute oh I want to take another photo I'm out of battery I can crank it up right here I'm going to look goofy doing it but I'll be able to take a photo
“For a hundred Thirty dollar camera” cheeeee!!! That’s what I call a bargain! Lol! The images you pulled off in the neighborhood looked nice with one sun burst 💥 Love the house too!
I thought those photos were awesome too! I can't wait to shoot on this.
Also love the color that came through! So vibey!
@@gennydavila5609 I love your decor Genny! So good!
@@gennydavila5609 it’s all yours..
@@gennydavila5609 guess what, this camera is actually worth about £12 of electronics, it's a pile of crap, you should have invested in a digicam, you have better film affect due to their ccd sensors, worth 5 bucks and got godamn working viewfinder, no shutter delay, better sharpness, better in low light, better settings
Did you use a flash at all?!◡̈
No flash used
Great lighting then !!
I have a paper shoot
@@kristinandhercamera thank you! I’ll be shooting with it again!
Is the skin board plastic or paper cardboard?
The best way to describe it is like compact treated pressed cardboard. It feels like paper board to the touch.
But I believe it’s like a composite stone type of paper. It’s been a while so hard to recall exactly what it was.
Hey can i have ur papershoot camera than 😂 … Fr tho you sound like you know a lot about cameras what do u recommend under $120 for someone like me that just wants a good photo quality or occasions. I like to live in the moment i tend to leave my phone home alot but sometimes i want to capture memories.
To be honest, the best advice is actually to rely on your phone more. I'm just going to assume you have a camera phone from the last 5 years or so, and it's going to be the most convenient camera you have. It will give you better image quality than any of the $120 digital cameras I can think of, that are also as slim in profile and easy to carry as your phone.
I wish I had a better answer, but yea keeping your phone with you and pulling it out when those moments strike... You're more likely to find success here. Otherwise you have to remember to go grab your compact camera and hope the memories occur that day, where as you'll more often than not already have your phone on you.
@@PhotoMeLarry there is a better awnser, get a digicam with a ccd sensor like Canon ixus 50 60 70 or 80 for 10x cheaper, actual viewfinder, zoom, better aperture better everything except resolution but resolution hardly makes a difference nowadays
what kind of battery are you using?
It’s AAA batteries
It’s recommended to use rechargeable batteries
How do you download the pic to your phone tho?
You use sd card reader and connect it to your device to transfer the pics you took.
Does it come with the sd card or nah
No, it doesn’t. It’s a separate purchase
130 bucks! They are 35 now
I just don’t see the point if I have my iPhone.
That’s not unfair
$130 is too much for something like that you might as well get an Instax camera 😊
I want it to be a successful product just because I kind of dig weird / non standard products personally, but it feels like a tough sell to a lot of folks.
when u do that, its like $1 per photo ive calculated this cost nothing after first purchase
Asian shopee (Taiwan)
But wait, it's "water resistant" 🤣
Whelp.. :P,
The top and sides completely expose circuitry and battery which should have been my primary worry, but yeah I don't think this holds up over a long time if you cant keep it dry.
I have to make my own crappy almost camera...???? This is very dee you emm!!
Why you don't simply take photos with your camera phone 😂
"eco friendly" ???? How come ? Millions of gallons of water has been spent to manufacture those electronic components… you cannot call this eco friendly.
Then again processing old films took its toll on the environment.
Great review. That being said; this is not an eco-friendly product, this claim being every bit as gimmicky as the actual camera itself.
I base this in the fact that anyone who buys one of these cameras will, invariably, also have a smartphone with a fully functional camera/video recorder built in, the files from which you can edit, add vintage effects, etc.
Therefore, 100% of this product is not environmentally friendly and to add to this is in fact a total waste of your money.
Worst hyped product I’ve seen in a while. All over tiktok with lies and misleading information from the creator. Claimed to be “eco friendly” and “user friendly” yet you have to pay for extra filters. If someone was so invested in being eco friendly I would recommend taking photos normally on your phone and putting them into a photo editing software to get the same results.
Which one is your favorite filter? 🥹
The very first filter after normal was my favorite. One-click to the right :) I believe it was a green-based filter. (I don't have the camera with me anymore, its at my partner's house).
