For those who don't know the reality about the 12'o clock joke, During the Mughal rule when Mughals kidnapped women then the warrior Sikhs would launch a surprise attack on those Mughals at 12'o clock mid-night and would rescue the captive women. And those who think that all Sardars(Sikhs) wear kirpan(a small knife), not all Sikhs have to wear that. It is usually the priests and other Sikh who have drunk our holy water(Amrit). Please don't become racist when you are joking about us Punjabis and Sikhs. And also whenever you try to joke about Sikhs or hear those kinds of jokes Just remember this that it is also us Sikhs who are ready to give our lives to protect the nation during war or during peace-time. The majority of the soldiers who fought very bravely till their last breath when the galwan valley Incident happened were also Sikhs.

A video trying to show the common misunderstandings while outside Punjab but not to correct each such. The Hindu Punjabi character dialogues are for himself to clear them about their misinterpretations.
But amazingly, while in my Chandigarh residency, most of the misunderstood questions (especially seems offensive ones) commented mostly by Hindu Punjabis as well as my own friends when I used to pursue the usual Sikh's outfit.
During traveling at parts of India, the non-Punjabi thought Punjabis all the time drinking, fighting, dancing and do eve-teasing. Aren't these common all over in India?

In short, 12 o clock is when Sikh guerilla forces would strike at invaders to recapture stolen gold and recover kidnapped people. They wouldn't exclusively strike at 12 but the joke that Sikhs go crazy at 12 comes from their warrior history.

Before and After buddhism it was all Overwhelmingly Hindu.
Point is, Hinduism is the native and first actual religion of the region

But how many of us have ever wondered about the origin of these baarah baje jokes? Because I bet if you knew where the 12 o'clock story meets the Sikh tradition, you wouldn't make another such joke for the rest of your days.
The real reason behind the Sikh 12 o'clock association comes from Nadir Shah's invasion of India. In the 1700s, his troops passed through Punjab after plundering Delhi and massacring thousands of Hindus and Muslims and taking women captive along the way.
Over the years, the Hindus saying in jest that the Sikhs are in their senses only at midnight, gave rise to the now common derogatory brand of Sikh jokes with the baarah baje theme.
And in the modern context, the ever-ready-to-poke-fun-at-themselves Sikhs engage in similar self-deprecatory jokes as well. 'Cause that's just how the fun-loving bunch rolls!
But the truth remains that if it weren't for the Sikhs, countless Indian women would've been dishonoured and exiled. And those that make these jokes in ignorance ought to know just how much we owe them.
I sure hope that with this, jokes aside, we as a nation grow more conscientious towards giving the Sikh community the respect it really deserves.
