    So I find these videos interesting, the part I struggle with as a newer player to the game is understanding champ matchups. Almost all of the decision-making is based on whether a champ wins or loses early, who has prio at the start of the game. But if I don't know that, it's almost impossible for me to make good decisions because they're not well informed. So my question comes down to, how do you compare champions? Have you just memorized matchups, or is there a concrete way for someone who knows how the champions work on a basic level to assess the lane and deduce that information?

    • @AndriusChamentauskas
      @AndriusChamentauskas Před 2 lety +21

      This is extremely too late, but here's a basic guide I'd use:
      What type of champion enemy jungler plays? Generally assassins, bruisers & tanks don't have a fast clear, while mages & fighters have a good clear. Junglers with good clear will prefer to full clear & those with bad clear will prefer quick level 3 & gank.
      As for matchups fighting in 1v1: bruisers > assassins, fighters >> tanks > mages.
      As for 2v2 or 3v3 it's generally more murky and depends on champion you're playing.
      The most important thing is to learn what are the strengths and weaknesses of your own champion, then based on what class of champions you're playing against you can judge whether you should invade, fight them or avoid. Learn what levels in early game is your champion strong (level 3? level 4-5? level 6?).
      Once you know your champion's strength & weaknesses, you can check enemy champion's abilities and judge their strength. Strong duelist generally have:
      - Some kind of sustain (since 1v1s are generally low damage, sustain most of the time is much more powerful than in team fights)
      - No or very low AoE damage (AoE is bad in 1v1 since the damage has to be scaled down to account for team fights)
      - Attack speed steroid (Attack speed is generally the biggest multiplier for auto attacks, its usefulness is generally scaled by enemy champions not allowing you to make full use of it).
      - No pure utility abilities (e.g. invisibility, dash without damage/CC/heal, pure slow and etc.)
      - Ability to close into range (low priority, since usually jungle 1v1s start with ambushes).
      So in general:
      - You want to gank if you have pre 6 CC (ideally if your allies also have pre 6 CC).
      - Counterganking is generally higher level strat since you need to know where enemy jungler is.
      - Playing for objectives is great if you have a good sustain, strong single target damage (ideally with % damage on some ability or attack speed steroid) & you don't need to be ahead.
      - Powerfarming is generally best if your champion depends on level 6 (e.g. strong ultimate or in evelynn's case - unlocking her stealth). It's also good if you have weak ganks.
      - For counter jungling you either have to be strong duelist with good escape (so you can 1v1 enemy's jungler) or have a good clear speed & know which camps are available in enemy's jungle.
      - Camping a lane is similar to ganking, however you want to camp one lane if that ally has strong gank setup & your other lanes don't.

    Next video suggestion: When should you take the first inhibitor?
    Because I've seen many hi elo streamers not take the inhib and they explained that its because ofc the supers clear the whole wave meaning u can't take any exp fronm that lane anymore and the enemy gets an extra minion with a cannon value of gold. I am still conflicted as to when should be the right call to take inhib or just leave it.

    • @Kushien
      @Kushien Před 3 lety +8

      I agree, however I feel this is a complex concept. If there is jungle objectives or other towers you want to take until those jungle objectives spawn, I'd say that's a good time to take inhibitor. Like if you want to look for baron, if it's possible you would want to take the bot inhibitor, and vice versa for dragons. But you're not always going to be able to apply this concept in an ideal way.

    • @KevinBGB
      @KevinBGB Před 3 lety +7

    • @jabberlock9267
      @jabberlock9267 Před 3 lety +6

      Take the inhib if baron is spawning soon or if you need to keep an enemy in that lane while you take drake (you're winning but the enemies aren't behind enough to be sure you win all 5v5 teamfights). Also, if you know you can take inhib in another lane soon, and eventually end the game off of a pick under turret, you can take inhib. In the end tho, a rule of thumb i use is: if before 22 mins and you aren't gonna destroy the nexus after the next teamfight, don't take inhib

    • @hawks3109
      @hawks3109 Před 3 lety +2

      @@jabberlock9267 This. You use enhibs only when you need pressure to do something on the map. If major is up or you aren't going to hard push the opposite side of the map, enhib just helps your enemy catch up while you lose a lane of farm. Only get it when you can get something major out of it.

    • @qeb653
      @qeb653 Před 3 lety +1

      @@jabberlock9267 it's more complex than this. It depends also heavily on comps too. If they have anivia they're piss chilling when inhibs are taken. But if a comp has bad wave clear and you have for example Caitlyn, your main objective is to seige then even pre 20 inhibs are perfect.

Nautilus will likely be pushed under tower against a Gnar, so i dont really see the gank potential with Gnar's poor CC if he's not Mega, and Mid looks like a free lane to camp. Malph will likely build AP (unlike the Naut, likely going tank) and Annie can have an instant stun and big burst whenever she wants. Camping Mid looks like the way to go in that game.

Their top should get hard priority and mid will have priority... can then take / contest raptors > his blue > double scuttle negating any pressure from nocturne to his solo lanes. then he should recall and do dragon since their mid/jg/bot at that point cannot do anything to stop them because of how oppressive zyra is at keeping them away from the pit since they all should be under 6. from there, this is what I call "objective layering" is to keep the topside objective (herald / baron) spawn timer ideally 2 minutes before / after a drake, so when you take one the enemy does not have the option of taking the other. This is why it is really powerful to take drakes @ 5-7 mins, so you can get ready for herald when it spawns at 8:00 without losing anything.

      You could try doing red-krugs-raptor-blue into scuttle instead of taking wolves so that way you have double buffs and you're not delaying your blue buff spawn later down the line. Then you can go back to the jungle and clear wolves and gromp into a reset and can gank or full clear again

    Hey, can someone help me out which junglers should powerfarm on first clear?
    I know Karthus is a no-brainer. But is it the type of jg?
    Because I like to farm with champs like sejuani and Nunu. Not that I don't want to gank, it's just that I would like to always be doing something so I'm always in a path farming.
    I'm not sure if this is a reason why in some games I believe I gank too little. Mostly because I think we should win if everyone plays safe and I'm concerned about objectives but what really happens is my laners are dying a lot more than I expect and the game goes off the rails.
    Anyway, any tips is helpful

    • @NoisqueVoaProduction
      @NoisqueVoaProduction Před 3 lety

      Also because I always look at the full clear when I'm learning a new champion.
      Idealy, I like champs that can farm 3/4 camps and still be healthy for a scuttle skirmish.
      An example, Kayn is a champ I love to play, but I'm awfully bad at it.
      Of course I can't just farm, because he doesn't transform, this even serve as an incejtive to gank as much as possible.
      But it's sad that I feel like I don't bring much to the table. Ok, a lot of damage. But if the laners turn on me first, I can probably be killed. I do have a lot of escaping tools, but many engages ends up with me dying or even worse.
      His clear is super fast, that is why I don't feel bad power farming, in hopes I can get strong enough to make an impactfull gank.
      Is that how I'm suppose to be doing? Get a contribution here and there but really focusing on getting first items so I can impact and deal tons of damage before dying?

    @thetruedjlivewire Před 3 lety

    this is why when you play shyv you take early game strats. enjoy the free early win with these 3 steps preparations which turn you into udyr on roids. press-tri-[wild car](*)-*. secondary=[100% prefrence]== nimbus-celerity. w=2/1/2 OR_3/2/3 however there is almost no reason to run 3/2/3 unless you know why in which case you think reading this is a waste of time... so what makes this good is the Summoner Spells! so the reason one would take press is to win EARLY == AKA pre-15 min. So then, you have decided to make the enemy team FF at 20.
    Clear rotations is the holy trinity (aka: buff>gromp>buff>kill) So the reason this works is Shyvana clear speed murders everyone who isn't a % damage low CD.
    So the summoners for this are [Ignite+Smite]. So then how do we use this? you abuse the server latency being over 20 and you Auto+[during animation=smite buff away OR assassinate] hitting W as the auto lands(big deal with chase), then play it out. worst case is mid and top shows, in the situation where you do not ping anyone or have a ward to stop the escape. you smite and run. OR you FB, clear double scuttle, clear 1 camp to specifically polish off Blue Smite+dagger. in which case you get free wolf ward+dragon+raptor ward+ mid gank+recall AND/OR kill jungle.
    The skill requirement is only macro. spell learning rotation should be W>Q>E. buying smite attk speed+bork. if this works and wasn't messed up == witts OR frozen heart. if you cannot decide which one you need to think if you need to Q 2 times or you need to chase and deal with AP damage. 2 primary AP that are a Big threat allow for witts. else build frozen heart, you will know why when you build it.
    side notes: buy stupid amounts of pink wards, you can never have too much information.
    Do/don't;
    do ward alot
    don't buy sweeper unless you are ready and believe in your team to ward for you 100%
