Hello Hoppers! In today’s video, I stress the importance of really knowing where you will end up if you take a Ryanair Flight. Frankfurt-Hahn is NOT Frankfurt and Milan-Bergamo is NOT Milan. Luckily from Bergamo, there are good connections to Milan, but this is not the case in Frankfurt-Hahn to Frankfurt. I also explain the difference between Ryanair Priority and Non-Priority bookings and give you a few tips.
I am at the very start of my northern Italy Adventure!! We have been cooped up for so long that I really needed to do something fun. I wanted to take my time and really enjoy the moment so I chose the route Milan to Venice and decided to take trains from one location to the next. I booked ahead of time the hotels for the cities of Bergamo (2 nights), Milan (2 different hotels, 5 nights and 3 nights, and tickets to Rolling Stones Concert), Brescia (2 nights), Verona (3 nights), Padua (2 nights), and Venice (4 nights). And I booked a return flight from Venice to A Coruña via Barcelona. The rest was all improvised, although I did check the train schedules to make sure there were several trains to choose from.
To be fair, Ryanair is able to offer low ticket prices for three main reasons. Firstly, it usually operates out of secondary airports that are smaller and therefore have lower airport fees. A large airport that is close to a main city, like Frankfurt and London, will always have to pay higher fees and therefore reflected in ticket fares. Then, Ryanair works on getting people from A to B without a transfer in the middle, so it doesn't need all the facilities that a big hub airport like Heathrow could provide. And lastly, Ryanair charges for additional services, like baggage fees or for a seat with extra legroom.

I don't understand the fuss...bergamo airport(called Milan Bergamo) is 45 mins away from milan city centre with the bus
I like your comment. Yes, it's no big deal if you know this. Ryanair do this all the time and it is misleading, so I'm just telling my Hoppers to be informed. The Frankfurt-Hahn airport is no way near Frankfurt. People get confused all the time and miss their flights!! There are no trains in Frankfurt-Hahn. It is a 2 hour bus away and there are few buses per day. I'm just trying to inform people for their next flight with Ryanair. Thanks for your comment!!!

The distance between Milan and Bergamo is approximately 50 kilometers. Bergamo is a nice city.

With Ryanair, Frankfurt isn't Frankfurt and Milan isn't Milan. It is so annoying if you don't check. Luckily I know Ryanair very well and prepared ahead of time. I booked a hotel in Bergamo and not in Milan. Advantage? I got to know Bergamo and loved it!!! Were you ever misguided by Ryanair? Let us know below.
