Don't be fooled by 'only 4 left at this price' message. Its all bullshit to make you book before the time runs out.. I fell for this booking a hotel once. I flied with them to Germany many times and the cost is much less than 100€ which is impossible with companies as Lufthansa, KLM, British Airways... I think everyone should be proud and humble that we can travel within Europe at a very reasonable prices this last years...
    In my opinion is just okay to add 20€ for the bags to your google flight price and that will be the cost if you don't choose a seat you don't have to pay any extra money for it...

    I fly Ryanair and honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about… So I go home to Morocco frequently and Ryanair has always been the cheapest even in the heart of summer I got a ticket for £100 I mean including add on’s… The return ticket was a bit more but still it was cheaper than most airlines during summertime. Ryanair is uncomfortable yes but it’s never in much of a terrible condition as I hear people say it is… The only issue I find is the toilet they never re stock tissue hahah or clean it regularly but honestly on a 3 and a half hour flight with one loo stop it’s cool! Whatever…. 🙂 I find the staff always moody but all I use a plane for is to get from A-B I tend not to interact with the staff much unless I need help! But Moroccans love to help so am always in good hands by other people on the plane, no need for staff! Ryanair is an is what it is airline and moaning will get you nowhere.. The less people who become afraid to use it because of this video - I get more seats to pick from 🤣

    I have just had the “pleasure” of traveling from Manchester to Tenerife and back with Ryanair. The other trick that Ryanair use that I absolutely hate is holding passenger post “boarding” in the Jetway or a staircase before they let you get on to the plane. It can be 45 minutes, without seats or any air conditioning. Awful if you’ve pain (as I have) or are travelling with children. At Tenerife the “boarding” process began while the arriving aircraft was still 150 miles away according to FlightRadar. The seats are truly abysmal too.

I have friends who love these cheap airlines but I will stick with the legacy carriers and try not to get nickled and dimed to death. They do fill a niche in the market and make flying available to those who probably can't afford a legacy carrier. @mikoto7693 Před rokem

      That’s actually irrelevant when it comes to commercial airliners, mostly because they absolutely have to process the air in order to make it survivable when it reaches cruising altitude. During flight this air conditioning is powered by the engines. On the ground, the air conditioning can be powered using either the engines set on idle or some low setting, or from the APU (auxiliary power unit) located at the back of the plane close to the horizontal stabilisers.
      But from what I’ve been told, the APU is a real fuel hog and pilots are frequently pressured into turning it off. So while I’m used to the pilots inconsiderately turning the APU and subsequently roasting. But not doing it for the passengers is very odd.

  • @bootedup
    @bootedup Před 4 lety +5

    The Aircon only works properly when the engines are running. On the ground they use an APU which is at the back of the aircraft and it can't keep it cool.

    • @ysfsim

      wrong, the apu is enough to cool the plane properly. Its costs fuel to use and Ryanair doesn't want to pay. They also dont pay for ground air conditioning which is cheaper than using the apu. The apu is also what is used to start the engines using air pressure and electrical energy so of course it could do a simple AC function.

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 Před 4 lety

      The only reason why the budget airlines are able to offer such low fares is the aircraft turn around time. That means one or two carry on bags, not five or ten. If you can't pack lightly, pay dearly to check your bags into the hold. They charge so much to force passengers to comply. Otherwise pay a heavy fine... Simply put, the fewer the bags, the quicker the jets takes off...

If you can pack light in the 40x20x25cm bag they allow you to bring (which is doable) and you check in online + print the boarding pass yourself and pack your own food, you will save a LOT of money compared to the normal airlines. Some of their flights will take you far away from the main cities, but in my experience I've gone to Kyiv Boryspil airport which is right next to Kyiv, Ukraine, and Frankfurt International which is right next to Frankfurt, Germany. The flight isn't that uncomfortable and at the end of the day you're paying to get from point A to B and nothing else and that's what matters.

    Ye gods and little fishes, the state of that cabin was disgraceful. As an aircraft cleaner I would have not only gotten chewed out by my supervisor if he or Tui discovered I’d left a seat and table in a state like that! More than that, I’d have been embarrassed for having done shoddy work.
    In honesty I tend to clean slightly slower than is ideal but it’s mostly because I have standards. Unless I make a mistake (which does sometimes happen) my general philosophy is to clean it to the standard I’d expect as a passenger paying good money for that seat. No rubbish in the seat pockets, wiped down folding table and recess it fits into. A clean seat with no crumbs or dirt with the seatbelt neatly laid out. Alas I don’t clean for Ryanair.
    But it evidently does have some decent staff, as the one night when I was driving to the airport for a night shift and my car broke down, of all the people that could have stopped to assist me, the one that did was a Ryanair first officer. Evidently he’d just flown in from somewhere and was on his way home when he decided to pull over and help me.

    The rules have now changed and they charge you an extra £10 for not checking in online, now £55.. Ryanair is the pioneer of this kind of deception of the occational traveller so I don't cut them any slack... I your an accountacy type person you'd probably not have any issues.
    On a general note, I fly internationally a lot, they used to automatically include a hold bag in the price. Just this year I've had to pay €85 each way for my hold bag. Norwegian don't even give you food inless you book it online. 12 hours on a plane with no food? EU flights have to provide food on flights over a certain length so watch out after brexit... Also, very important.. If your international trip involes several flights and you miss one for whatever reason, they'll automatically void all your other flights including the return.. I found this out to my cost when I had to pay €600 for the seat I'd already paid for on a trip to Chicago..

    why would one wish to sit near the front of the aircraft , when statistically speaking it's the most dangerous place to be in a crash ( apparently behind the wing , but a few rows forward of the loo are the safest seats ) .ALSO, as well as Ryanair , Easyjet use London- Southend airport which for most people , will necessitate a train journey to central London ( lots of nice country to view outside the carriage window though ) .
    As far as the fold down table are concerned , many airlines give their cleaners very limited time to clean the aircraft , before the next batch of passengers is loaded up , and I have even heard stories of mothers changing their babies on the fold down tables , which is why I bring wet wipes in my hand luggage for such an occasion .
    Like others have mentioned , you pays your money , and you makes your choice - this is why one should ALWAYS read the small print when booking , no matter how annoying that may seem .
    When I fly with an economy airline , it's usually Easyjet , but I'm sure , there are those who have had unsatisfactory experiences also

  • @user-ti4ke7tw1g
    @user-ti4ke7tw1g Před rokem

    Some of these points have absolutely no reasoning. Take you airports one for example. Ryanair tell you the airport they go to. Paris beauvais is one. That’s the name of the airport, and even though it’s not in Paris CITY it’s still in paris. Nonetheless not Ryanair’s fault. Stockholms arlanda airport is also their main international airport, despite it being outside the city. If a person is to take a flight somewhere, they are of course going to check the location of the airport no matter what so they know how to get from it to their stay.
    Almost all airlines nowadays charge for baggage as well. Even though most airlines allow carry on luggage at basic economy, Ryanair’s baggage policy is perfect for its target audience… internal European travellers. Their stays tend not to be for long times and their “hand bag” is actually, from experience, perfect for a 2 or 3 day trip. I would not like to have to pay (Even though it’s ‘included in the price’, the price will increase) for a larger bag without the need for it, thus their baggage policies work for those who use Ryanair.
    I think Ryanair gets a bad reputation from people who have no idea about it’s logistics. It is not the ‘airline from hell’, because if it was, it wouldn’t be the biggest airline in Europe. As well as that, those who have never flown a Ryanair flight claiming that their landings are terrible and that Ryanair is ‘unsafe’ don’t know what they are talking about. Sure Ryanair has had bad landings, but so has every airline. And I’m relation to Ryanair being ‘unsafe’, Ryanair has never had a fatality in its nearly 40years of service.
    Now is it safe to say that with Ryanair, you get what you pay? Given you pay around €20 to fly across the continent, Ryanair are more than generous with their services. And sure some aspects of Ryanair’s policies might catch certain people out, but those are the ones who clearly don’t know their terms. They are clearly outlined, not “hidden”

    What?? I think you are booking too close to departue. Examples I have booked/flown last few months: BTW to DUB then self transferring to STN 44 GBP - including priority boarding which gets you the double bag carry on. If I am getting a flight for 22GBP one way with the large carry on and smaller rucksack, for 1 hour 10 mins I really couldn't care less about seat assignment.
    Ryanair is unashamedly low cost. The above itinerary was flown by me as is was cheaper than a train from Portsmouth to Cambridge (including train Portsmouth to Bristol) with fun of free priority pass lounge access.
    I have to agree that the plane you had was crap- yet you are more likely to catch a Ryanair new bird. Their AVG ft age is 3.1 years. Compared to BE for example which is 11.6 years. Newer planes are more cost effective.

    Hopefully my flight to Barcelona in October will be as empty as that and my randomly allocated seat is a good one. £71 return which includes the priority boarding and two carry on bags. Hardly expensive, and yours didn't seem too pricey either. I agree that the new 'handbag only' default rule is a pain, but that seems to reflect in the price.
    For the sake of a 2/2.5 hour flight I wouldn't be too arsed about being split up from friends. Ideal but not essential. Surely you all had phones/tablets and could listen to music/watch for the flight.
