I'm glad Scottie Pippen got an honourable mention, that dude had so many great dunks on people. There was one that I've never seen make it into a highlights package during the 93 finals where he came off a cut, received a pass at about the foul line then exploded off two feet to jam it right on Oliver Miller's head, who was a pretty good shotblocker.

That's why I would have been fine with just an honorable mention. i totally understand his criteria and what he's going for, but you have to at least acknowledge the most prolific and powerful dunker of all time.@@exilhamburger4802

Pip just had that Statue of Liberty dunk package (not really a tomahawk since he didn't cock it back) that was meant for going over the hands of shot blockers. That dunk he had over Charles Smith in MJ's double-nickel game was sick.

I had a chance to watch Blake dunking on Kendrick Perkins live at Staples Center. I was sitting on a nosebleed seat, but it was still awesome and the crowds went nuts. I loved Derrick Rose two-handed dunks when he was healthy. Paul George also deserves some love.
As a Chicagoan who got to watch a lot of Jordan, aurprisingly I would have to agree with leaving him off of the all-time in-game dunker list.
Young Jordan, sure. He went hard to the rack and stuffed it over everyone, but at some point the rest of the league were all about letting him shoot and not letting him dunk. Jordan adjusted, his layup package became sick, he improved his jumper and his post game, but he shifted his focus from dunking on people to just straight scoring on them in every way possible.
Every time defenders took something away from Jordan it opened something else up for him, and he gleefully took it.
He could still dunk on whoever he wanted, but his game matured into what his mindset always was: he'll take the win over a dunk on someone every single time. Dunking on someone is seen as humiliating, but it's way more humiliating when you throw everything at a guy and he can still drop 40 on you without even worrying about it. You irritate him slightly, and it's 50, and if he gets into "alright motherfucker" mode, all bets are off. Perfect example is the double nickel at the Garden... wins by drawing the defense and hits Wennington on the baseline for the 15 footer for the win.
Jordan's layup package was sick from the start of his career. In fact, it was sickest in his first few years in the 80s.

Vince Carter is #1 and it’s not even close. Le dunk de la mort? Remember that one? I can’t remember another dunk making a headline outside of dunk contests. Then you throw in his in-game 360s, reverse dunks, and he was one of the best lob catchers in the game.
No Jordan? He has some amazing dunks over the league’s best shot blockers. He also has some spectacular dunks in meaningful playoff games. No Mike, no like.

Bill, apart from the Jordan dunks over particular people you forgetting thr different categories with either one or two foot he did, as in missed FT dunk, inbound pass dunk, rock the cradle, leaner, reverse double pump, double pump, kiss rhe rim, etc etc. People just went to games to see him at least dunk once, like Dr J

Mainly, Vince not being 1 is just crazy. You need to go back and watch highlights. Dunking on people wasn’t the topic. It’s in-game dunks. No one has a longer list of jaw dropping in gamers than Vince. Period. You could argue Blake Griffin matched his highs (in the NBA at least) but Vince wasn’t only dunking in Toronto. His New Jersey Nets days were amazing. That’s how we got the Alonzo Mourning poster and the reverse alley-oop game winner.
Edit: Also, Malik Monk is prob my fav in game dunker right now. For his size he jumps wayy higher and more vicious than he’s supposed to. His dunks always surprise me.
Vince's Olympics Frederic Weiss dunk is the best dunk of all time. The icing is the reactions part is a documentary in itself.

I agree Dominique is the best in-game dunker EVER. It's been over a generation since his prime, and still no one has quite matched his combination of ferocity, athleticism, and just complete zeal for posturizing people.

Dominique was a human mechanical lever combined with a spring system. Unreal. He just threw it down so violently regardless of who was there and he would do it with one step. The best in-game dunk I ever saw was from Clyde Drexler. I do not remember who he was playing against but it was a bad pass, way to the right of the basket and he somehow caught it and violently slammed it in. It was a pure 10 out of 10. Shawn Kemp was a pretty good in game dunker as well.

There's NO way that Blake should be ahead of Kemp. Kemp's Top 100 dunk highlights are unmatched. The vertical, and the finish. Even Simmons wrote (in his book) about how he'd fly onto the TV screen out of nowhere, dunking from angles we didn't know existed. Who else did that? He didn't deliver in the Slam Dunk contest, sure, but "In Game", he was it.
Why is LeBron even in this conversation? Or Wade? Kobe's a lightweight version of Jordan when it comes to dunking.
