I still can't get over that she has a fantastic car in high school, and she is still seen as an "unfortunate" character who has no funds. Um, she has a car and can pay for gas, and can drive around at her own volition. Definitely one of the luckiest Cinderellas out there. 😂

I always rolled my eyes at scenes like the costume ball where nobody recognizes her bc half her face is covered....but then covid happened. I've only started seeing most of my classmates without their masks on recently and I don't recognize some of them without the bottom half covered. I'd definitely be fooled by Hilary Duff's mask 😂

No I feel that haha I made a friend at work when I was working retail in 2020 and we had talked every day basically and became pretty close and after like a month or so we were both waiting for our rides outside and we took our masks off and we were both like "omg that is not what I though you looked like" hahaha it was a trip.
I still have no idea what most of my coworkers faces look like that I've been working 9 months with now- I work in a hospital and we still wear face masks. I will walk into the break room and see someone without their mask, they'll say hey and I have no idea who they are
So I'm hearing it's the lower half of the face that should be covered for a disguise. Got it!
When in art class and working on a portrait (of usher lol) my teacher came up to me and said to paint it upside down. Upon asking why, she explained that since humans connect with eye contact, we see what we feel has more weight/importance and don't see what is factually there. And that people always think it's the eyes that we recognize each other by. In reality, its the lower half of the face, specifically everything under the nose, so chin & mouth.

Loved this movie as a teen (still kind of a guilty pleasure, haha) but I just realized that Chad's character is actually not a good guy. He has a girlfriend, but is chatting and flirting with another girl without any concern. His reaction when he found out that Sam is Cinderella was horrible, earlier in the movie his friends are bullying her for being "dinner girl" and he doesn't care. Hillary, you deserve better.
Also why are they bullying her for working at the dinner, but him working at the car wash is totally fine?

I was kinda hoping you’d mention the fact that everyone in the movie picked on Sam for working at a diner, but none of them said anything about Austin working at a car wash. That bit always bothered me. During the “diner girl” chant scene, they should’ve thrown in some “car wash boy” chants for good measure. 😂

@@averyeml haha I mean yeah, in like every high school movie/tv show its always the stereotypical football bro + cheerleader = popular, but it wasn't like that in my school. Granted High School for me was 15+ years ago, but it was rich kids = popular. Only some of the guys from the football team were popular, none of the cheerleaders were...they had their own friend groups but it wasn't like everyone knew their names. The most popular girl in my school drove a brand new Lexus and didn't do any school related activities - her parents were just rich and she was decent looking. So for me while watching this movie I thought it was dumb that Sam was considered a loser even though she lived in a big house and the fact that Hilary Duff is gorgeous.
Thank you for talking about how weird it is that people seem to have unlimited time to do things in the morning before school/work. That has always irked me! Parents making like full breakfasts, girls in full hair and makeup hanging out places or doing things in the morning before school, like are you all getting up at 4:30 every morning to do all this? Does your school start at like 10 am? It’s ridiculous

My high school started at ten to nine and it was still unrealistic to me
My school started at 9am, which clearly wouldn’t be enough time to do all these things but more time compared to the creators perspective since she said she started at 7am! Certain days I had 2 spares in the afternoon which would mean I could go home after 11:45, so if it was reversed and I had them in the morning instead then it would mean I didn’t have to go to school until 12:45, so that’s the only scenario where I could see these things happening!
Senior girls at my school always stopped by Dutch Bros before school (or during lunch) because:
A) it was on their route
B) they didn't have a first period or were a TA during that period
or C) they just didn't give a shit by that point.
If you DIDN'T make a "she'll be coming round the mountain" joke, I would've been disappointed.

People that wake up before the sun rises to successfully get ready for the day by dawn are a *totally* different breed of productive lmao there’s so much more time to do things if you wake up with the sun 😳 That being said, my school didn’t start until later in the morning, like we’re talking 9:15am was the first bell to get to class, and 9:20am was the final bell, after that you’d be considered “late.” Personally, I was never on time once I got into my Junior year 😜
It's definitely an alternate universe with different rules of time and no one needs to shower, use the bathroom, style their hair, eat, or do any other mundane, daily thing unless it's absolutely necessary to the plot line lol

Even in the German original, it was her sneaking out, and her having the courage to live for herself that saves her, the prince is just a bonus. Even in Ever After when she is taken hostage she had already figured out a way to deal with him and was leaving even before the Prince made it there to "save" her lol

As someone who grew up in Southern California, I can confirm nobody had time to do anything before school. I’d wake up at 4:20 am to take a shower, make coffee, and do my makeup before running to the bus stop at 6:10. First period started at like 7:10. So yeah, the unlimited morning hours trope in the movies has frustrated and annoyed me for years.

The Jennifer Coolidge impersonations were the most spot on amazing impersonations I’ve ever seen. Ever.
This was one of the first movie I saw in theaters. I was like, 11 at the time and thought this was a masterpiece, likely because I was a Hilary Duff obsessed preteen. But as a kid, I loved this movie. I remember bawling my eye out in theaters over her getting made fun of and then not getting in to Princeton. Still love this movie today (with all the imperfections), as an adult, Fiona/Jennifer Coolidge is definitely much more enjoyable as a character than 11 year old me thought. Also, of all the "A Cinderella Story" spin off movies, this one reigns supreme.

So a lot of people have a comfort show they binge watch when they want to chill or feel better. For me, I always come to this video and watch it. I'm probably responsible for like 30-50 of the playthroughs lol. It's just incredibly funny and your comedy is so well timed and smooth. It feels spontaneous and well written/edited all at the same time. I laugh my butt off every time like I've never seen it before, and then I go get my husband and make him watch my favorite parts again while he rolls his eyes. So thank you for all of that, including the tools to torture my husband with (in the name of love!)

For someone who grew up in Southern California and watched this movie when it came out, the drought has been a thing, it's a thing right now. I just drove by a highway sign yesterday that said severe drought. I'm pretty sure this movie was release during the time when Southern California was starting to implement strict restrictions on water usage (mainly water usage on lawns like in the movie) so it was more to make us more aware that it's a real thing happening and that we all need to work together to conserve.

Sidebar: there actually WAS a major drought in CA in the early 2000's, and there was a big campaign to conserve water, not flush every time, etc. So probably all the drought stuff mentioned in the movie was not only a poorly executed metaphor but also like a real-life PSA to moviegoers

The advice they give is that if you're in an earthquake, you should stand in a doorway. Under the bed wouldn't be safe, because it could collapse on you, but the door frame is pretty sturdy and should protect you from falling objects. So the earthquake sequence isn't as weird as it seems. Although, if you didn't know that, it probably looked really strange! LOL
That part is absolutely 100% true and I do remember getting told this a child who spent summers with my divorced dad in California (and yes, as someone pointed out - the constant references to drought absolutely was a thing too).
As a parent of a 9 year old, however, I absolutely would have stayed with them and just yelled "GET IN A DOORWAY WITH THE KIDS!" to my grown ass spouse.
So I may be wrong, but I always thought when Shelby says “LOVE the dress. HATE her.” it implied that the girls recognized her, she just doesn’t tell Austin because that’s her ex bf and she doesn’t want to help him find his girl. Later when the evil step-sisters tell Shelby the whole fake story about how Sam was tricking him to get back at Shelby they are okay exposing her because they can embarrass her while doing it.

I have never watched your beauty/makeup content (although I do love makeup tutorials) and I just want to congratulate you for putting yourself out there. What you are doing is genius. It takes a lot of talent to edit stuff and write in such a funny way. You being able to produce such cool and hilarious content without having been to film or comedy school (or having access to an actual postproduction studio) is just downright impressive. I will be teaching a class in a Montreal film Institute next winter and I just want to let you know that your videos were an inspiration as to how to produce fun videos that deliver content (part of the class will be filmed ahead and given virtually). Keep doing what you love. You are obviously extremely talented and I find it absolutely amazing to see women embrace comedy. Sending love from Montreal.

In rich kid schools kids just attend whenever they want while in other TV shows/movies kids have enough time for precisely 3 sips of OJ before the bus leaves at best.

I think it was just the rich kids who teased her about it. Types of people who think they're affluent but are not really, think people doing normal things, or anything to make a buck or save money is funny. These girls sound like the ones that made a video in my town passing by a bus and calling it the "loser-mobile" laughing in her parent's convertible. Cringe-fest.

They have candy chips and soda every ten feet and a gourmet food truck that would cook anything in detail from steak to omelette's to anything !! Plus it was $150.00 per day. I started watching some of these recap movie things that you do about a week ago and I found it funny how you would say we have to take a break and then you would have like that black and white snow TV crap pull up and then like two seconds later it would pull you back up on the screen as if you actually took a break… But what I didn’t realize was that you actually put in a CZcams ad in that space and because I have CZcams premium I don’t have to watch them so this is fricking awesome. I do think though that it’s pretty awesome that you schedule the time that you’re going to put an ad in so that people are aware of it. Back before I bought youtube premium….I never knew when ab ad was gonna pop up and it was super annoying because it would pop up at the most inconvenient time. So thanks. I think That’s cool how you do it.
Yup I have the premium too. I used to take my remote and push the 10 second skip ahead or have to actually click on play line and try to make it go faster it didn't I muted it. Then I had my thumb poised above that OK Play button on
Roku remote as soon as it faded to black then Shazam Jaime I back.
