100% yes. This sent me down an internet rabbit hole of Lou Pearlman research and holy shit is there a lot there.

It makes me really uncomfortable seeing Topanga hit on someone who's not Cory. I feel like I'm watching an affair.
Right?!
This is exactly what was making me uncomfortable while watching her!! Lol I couldn't quite figure it out. Thanks!!

Girl, don’t undercut yourself because you you’re afraid your audience won’t like the genre of content. We love you and your take on things! Doooo the Lou pearl man story!
Yes! I’d watch
I was just going to write the same thing! Stop apologizing Jamie! We watch. We love.
Also - I have a craving for some PP with BO.
Yeah, this stuff is sad but interesring
I'm assuming the only reason this movie exists is that it was yet another way for Lou to move laundered money around and back into his own pocket.
That was exactly my first thought.
You'd be intrigued by the movie Elvis (2022). Elvis Presley's manager was an abusive father figure who took all Elvis's money, and Elvis's real father just stood by and did nothing. I didn't notice any historical inaccuracies.
So Lou Pearlman wrote a movie where the villain has his same initials and is casted by someone that kind of resembles him, then casts himself as the policeman AKA the Good Guy? Yeah, definitely a creep
"none pizza with left beef" never fails to murder my ass.

Anyone else think Jaime could not only be a professional singer but she could be a comedian? ❤🤭🤣 She's hilarious! Her videos make my day
Hey Jamie! Back in the 80’s there was a Entertainment Exec that managed kids in Hollywood (corey Feldman being one). He owned an nightclub for Hollywood kids and IIRC ice cream was the theme. Considering Pearlman was “creepy” as you say, that Ice Cream club with the male strippers could have been a dog whistle to the other “creeps” of Hollywood and the movie could be a discreet display of his roster to offer up for them.
This is terrifying. I hope it’s not the case
Yeah, that is legit terrifying if true.
They were called soda pop parties and they were exclusively for 16 and under celebrities
Oh, wow. This is terrifying to consider - and only *so* terrifying because it seems so plausible.
So the lawyer who represented Lou Pearlman is the same lawyer that represented Casey Anthony... Im thinking Bailey and Jamie team up! What a crossover that would be!!!
Teaaaa
They would be UNSTOPPABLE!!
If you like them watch Kennie JD Bad Movies and A Beat
Yasss!

This may have been Tammy's best role ever. She stole the show.
Kendall Rae has a deep dive into Lou Pearlman and all of his misdeeds. It made so much sense to me that after N*Sync separated from Lou, their next album was "No Strings Attached"!!
I about died laughing when Jaime did the close up of the flyaway hair loop on the top of her head while simultaneously, without missing a beat, continued talking about the movie 😂
That's because the closeup was done during editing.

I really wish Rich was alive to see boy band con. He would’ve been a big part of it. One of the nicest most sincere guys I ever knew. He would’ve loved your video and your humor. He was hilarious himself. Never a moment without laughter with Rich around. He’s so very missed.
So sad that two members of LFO have passed away.
@@itsjemmabond Well, these comments are how I learned that Rich Cronin and Devin Lima died. Brian Gillis also died earlier this year, which means 3 out of 4 members have now died young.
Oh and the one surviving member, Brad Fischetti, is an anti-choice activist who harasses women outside of Planned Parenthood clinics. Gross.
Oh man this dragged memories up from the depths of the darkest parts of my brain. I was obsessed with Nsync (and Lance in particular) as a tween and I remember this one. I clearly blocked the memory for a reason. On The Line was not the best, but did inspire me to move to Chicago where I met my now-husband and father of my kid so...I forgive it for being so cringe. Anyone get the feeling someone tried really hard to make sure this movie was never mentioned again? Sus
I thought that, too
Yes!! It's just to weird that nobody knows about it
Y’know I had the feeling too? I felt like the whole Lou Pearlman thing was kinda suppressed. I never knew until “The Boy Band Con”! But it kind of seems Disney is involved since y’know Britney, and others SO it kinda makes sense that it’s all a bit suppressed imo
We can only hope lol
Honestly? It even feels like videos and posts discussing it are suppressed from algorithms. Prime example: I have watched all of Jaime's videos when they initially dropped for years. I never knew this one existed until I scrolled her profile to rewatch some older content and found it there, amongst all the ones I'd already seen??? I watched all of her older videos (up until this year-ish) on a different account but I always had notifications set to "all" for her (as I do for all of my fav CZcamsrs). Also - I *never once* saw any advertising or interviews posted for Lance's documentary or anything else about "The Boy Band Con" - had to go looking through dozens of unrelated search results on Google just now when trying to find more, as well.
I distinctly remember a reality tv show where Lou Pearlman heavily featured as this boyband maestro who has the recipe for success. The end result of the show was the band US5. I always assumed it was an American production but looking into it it was produced by the German TV station RTL II in the early 2000s when casting shows like Popstars were extremely popular over here. The show was called "Big in America".
Btw what is said about his business strategies and how he ripped off the artists with unfair contracts sounds a lot like what's happening in K-Pop with the entertainment companies.
It was the “weeeeeee” sound effect for me as the actor gets shoved out the chopper. 🤡💀😂
Honestly, Cry Baby with Johnny Depp would be a perfect movie for this- it's bad but really really good (and a musical)
I don't have enough thumbs to like this comment. JAIME ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?!

I think all the actors in the movie got together and collectively buried this movie. That's what I would do.
Yes, do the deep dive. Also look into some of the creeps from nickelodeon. I'm convinced that almost every child star has been sexually abused or harassed by an adult who worked in the industry.
I would definitely watch deep dives on serious topics if they were delivered with Jaimie flair and humour.
I agree Tabitha.
Yes, definitely this too!!!
Good old modern world and Hellywood. It's a part of the ritualized practices of the elites abusing children, training them to entertain, and pushing all this weird shit subtly to our culture, while using the very children to produce the programs like marionettes.
Yes. Totally the vibe I got from this movie. The Chippendale with the "ice cream" line. Pizza shop ordering PP.. you can tell the creator is a creep.
Just wanted to say that I love how wholesome you are, you said pg-13 and I thought it was so tame lmao I must just be used to nc-17 stuff lmao

Not to be confused with the special line of tank tops she sells Tammy Camis
I love how she tells us everything i could listen to her all day!!! Love you Jamie!!
Given Lou's penchant for wanting to squeeze every dime out of everything, I suspect the boy actually thought this would be a blockbuster movie. Also, I can see how he managed to get all the actors involved. He "owned" several of them and might've had blackmail material on the others. But I'm confused as to how he was able to not only get cast for this but production crew as well. Like, I know crews need work and all but like, the unions? distributors? Like he had to convince a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of people to make this thing happen. So crazy.
I'm never prepared for the fart sounds when they come and I burst out laughing every time lmfao. I had no idea this movie existed.

The backstreet boys did a documentary and they literally went to the guys house and talked about it quite a bit. It's actually a really good documentary.

Lou Pearlman’s business model is how the whole Kpop industry has been running since the 90’s.

Lou pearlmans work ethic reminds me of the way North Korea is ran lol
Exactly why I can’t trust anyone that listens to them (KPOP) Speaks volume about their character and morals *NO pun intended
Chile!
The movie "Josie and the Pussycats" was hinting at the conspiracies behind boy/girl bands. It's a bit far fetched but makes you think about the music companies actually controlling the musicians to some extent.
thats not far fetch, thats exactly what happens. you cant get to pop star level fame without letting something terrible happen to you or doing something terrible to someone else. Most of the time its both.
She should review this one too
Its scary how often it's been said it only happens in the movies and it all actually the story from the movie actually comes from a real event. They make movies about things to desensitize you about things that are actually going on or blow it our of proportion so much it makes viewers believe nothing like that would ever happen. Don't mind me, I'm in my own little bubble right now😂
I laughed OUT LOUD so many times during this, but something about you saying "the kid from Home Improvement" sent me. I love your casual remarks I'm howling over here!

You editing "Jessica" into this is too good lmao
I remember O-Town saying that Lou Pearlman had this movie and promotion for it in their contract and if they didn’t do it, he’d pull their touring money. Assuming some of the others were also “forced.”

What?!?! Who?!?!
I'm old af. lol I knew Gilbert Gottfried from when he hosted the show USA's Up All Night, where they showed a marathon of R rated, and NC 17 rated movies, from 10pm to 4am, on USA Network back in the 80s - 90s, that were completely butchered with censorship due to having been aired on basic cable instead of premium like HBO.
Gilbert Gottfried hosted Up All Night on Fridays, and Playboy Bunny Rhonda Sheer hosted on Saturdays, they did comedy skits and commentary of the movie between commercial breaks, and the movies they played were usually 80s raunch comedies (imagine American Pie with 80s fashion, and lingo, with bleeped profanity, and blurred/pixilated boobs as well), which I wasn't a fan of as a little kid, but they'd also play horror movies (especially around Halloween, and they had a Friday The 13th movie marathon on every Friday The 13th), which I loved.
And of course I knew of Gottfried from the Problem Child movies, Def Jam's How To Be A Player (a hood comedy movie from the 90s), and Iago the parrot in Aladdin.
Fun Fact: Lance Bass and Topenga were dating IRL during the filming of this movie!!! They even went to Prom around this time. Lance was still trapped in the closet.😊
I mean, don’t assume he was entirely closeted and homosexual and “gay”. Cory’s ex might have been aware of Lance’s dimensions and struggles. He could have also went through some fluidity or confusions or contradictions. While no matter people’s identities, we really don’t know where someone is in the romantic, sexual, affection, emotional, relationship spectrum. Yes, being closeted and difficulty being out are things. But it’s not always that simple.
